Mission changes
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Lets be honest a few anthills have had way to long of peaceful friendship. No one is saying all out war but would be nice if folks actually fought over important regions. No one is saying that nation has to take the ports, plus’s it’s more clan base now than nation. And if those are the only ports that nation owns? Well shouldn’t have picked a hard mode nation. -
They got me......add the points up for any of them that have some. It was cheese the La Reqeins (one of them) ram my bow sprite and than tried to force me into boarding. I should of checked who it was I would of done a good old board with Targo for old times sack, but really Rats your bring Trincs to screen out a shallow water port battle? It's bad enough we have these DLC ships problems....what cheese, but I took it like a good sport and had fun. Prince was the MVP and he got a copper plating off me which I told him to loot my ship cause i might of had a light hammocks on it too. Until next time, now I have more dock space thanks guys and I have a purple Niagara that needs to be built, but I'll hold it off using it until the ships are balance.

Mission changes

Soon is a very generic word, that could be tomorrow, next week, a month from now but soon it should be. We been hearing soon for over a month now. Is there any better ETA for the next big patch we can look forward towards? Oh and the rest great news as we need more content to keep players around other than the Hard Core RvR guys. Maybe look into achievements too for doing certain task. -

ETA of this next patch? -
Wasa should have a BP option to craft maybe. Not it sits at a spot that folks really do t want to spend PVP marks for a ship that you can just craft a bellona to do the same thing. Maybe give it a CM price too? The only folks I see use it are folks that farm the crap out of capitals and are prob drowning in PvP marks

Le Requin Testing and Feedback
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
It really needs to be a 5th rate like the herc to be honest and that would fix a lot of the issues not counting pirate refit issues. The 4-5th rate mods and a ship knowledge will tone it’s stats down a bit from folks super stacking things like crew. -
OH I agree I prefer our system with actual PvE safe pockets instead. I'm just pointing out that it had the opposite extreme and worked as the game was more gear about PvE game play as most MMO's are mainly about the PvE side of it over the PvP. Never said you where a seal clubber, but my point is that most these guys that are seal clubbing us that as the excuse why they can't find PvP. Well the problem isn't they can't find it they want the easy route. Half the time you see them sitting side by side with other guys seal clubbing and not fighting each other.

And many deep water port battles limits are way to low. Limit to 5-7 players or 10 when you got 30-50 folks out side screening. Many of the ports need BR bump up to let more players in. One of the biggest complaints I get with PB's, "Why are they always the ones to go, I did hostlitlity too." While in Shallow you can get every one and than some. I honestly think Shall BR is fine other than adjusting the max one to sit's 25 ships of 80 BR and nothing else.
-
Pretty much they summed it up above, I agree there should be around the three easy nations a big safe zone bubble to let players that just want to level up ships, ranks and kill AI do so in safety of not being jumped by other players. If folks want PvP they can go attack other PvP clans/ports. I said this over and over when was the last time Cart, Estro's, Little Habrour, Nassua or any other major ports attacked. I bet you get a little hostitlity on any of those ports you get tons of PvP. Peopel should be able to level up (skills not just rank) in safety if they wish to. Yes this should be a low reward and slow means to do so, but they should still have the option. You want PvP than attack some clan/nation in open waters to get it. POTBS we use to keep certain zones in constant hostility so we would have a red zone (PvP zones). We couldn't farm the map or new zones cause the map was other wise PvE only and that game was very active until they went F2P route and did retarded things to it. Those Red Zones where the only place you could PvP so you knew where to find others. No guessing or wondering around the whole map looking or camping newbie capital zones.
-
I really think a lot of the hard core PvP/RvR guys don't understand about new players cause they tend to avoid them. As a US player I deal with new players daily and the retention rate is sad how many don't stick around and most the time it's not that the game is to hard, it's cause they get tired of being farmed by old vets. Than you have a few that kick ass and actually do better than some of the so called elite vets out there and they only been in game a few weeks.

It still blows folks minds when I hand them a first rate like it’s candy. We have at all times a dozen Oceans and Bellonas on stand by ready. I even started to jot some of those with cannons to quickly hand out. I was once told when I joined BLACK back on global. The clan is as weak as the weakest player that shows up to fight. So if the guy next to me is in a crap store boaght ship it’s my fault for not getting him into something better. I still think this way with how I have ran UISK in Russia and now CSA in US. Part of what makes that happen is you have to as a clan pool all your resources together and work as a t am to make it happen.

Pretty much my view the faster this patch gets dropped the sooner they can move on to other issues. Though some feed back would be nice from @admin or @Ink would help too. That or just give us all a paint heat every week it’s delayed and I’ll shut up until it drops.

When we had 12 ports (3 coastal us ports since lost or dropped) we where paying 3.6 million a day. 21 million a week or 84 million a month for a fairly small clan of 15-30 active players holding most of a nations ports. We got burned out grinding PVE to pay for the ports that we where doing more of that than PVP/RVR. Hint the resent clan split where half us have gone Spain. We don’t want to pay for ports for a nation any more. Currently we are giving shallow ports to other clans so we don’t have to pay for them. We need means to jab ports over to other clans I. The same nation and cost needs to be looked at. Marsh harbor makes enough to pay for the timers on Harbour Island and Cabo and those are the ports we plan to keep as CSA so we aren’t spending all our free time grinding AI or doing trade runs. i bring this up cause unlike many older EU clans we haven’t been on the server collecting millions from ports before timers and cost was put into play. So we effectively seen the cost as a new clan running things from scratch. Yes we have clan members it’s 200 million in personnel gold but we should expect them to be our clan bank. I would also love to see a clan tax. 10-20% of what a clan member earns goes into the clan bank to pay for things. That way it’s not just a few folks pulling the weight of the clan.
-
What kills me more is the tax on profitable ports that could pay for other ports. Anything above 1million and you continue to pay basically 50% tax. Why am I paying more taxes than the folks that use my ports and I get little to nothing other than the port timer. How about it’s a 500k fee every time you set a new timer or make a change to the timer. Than make it 250k a day to keep a timer. This allows a bit more profits to help support none profit ports. Also put a coold down of 48 hours on timer change so some on can’t change it every day. I know we made plans to hit a port the next day only to have the timer change. So we plan to hit the new timer the following day to only have it changed again by the same timer dodger.

Even if you delay it a week folks can still spawn a few ships and keep them on hand. I do thing the spawn rate should be 36-48 hours not 24 which is the same as the yatch a 7th rate. xebec also should be a 5th rate just like the Herc and that will limit a lot of the problems are having with the ship. Poods honestly should be limited to the pavel only. Just like 42/36 should be for certain 1st and 2nd rates.

More places like Kidd's Island...
Sir Texas Sir replied to Njord's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
See below... I had been pirate for a good while before I found it, with my baby spanish alt that was bottle hunting (back when they would spawn all over the map) in the middle of a storm was how I first found them as I had no reason to send my pirate out there back in those days. As both Christ and Batman said remove them from RvR, make them only able to become a pirate through in game attacking a friendly. If you don't want to be a pirate again use your forge papers and reroll or just delete your char and start over. Turn Mort into a big Neutral port that all nations can use (like how Pitt's use to be for all Nationals). Give pirates a bunch of pirate havens all over the map to claim as homes to fight out of. They can craft ships up to 4th rate, but any SOL's have to be bought or stolen. Give them a few ships like the Pirate Frigate that they can only use, others can use them but you will be treated as a pirate and can be attacked by all nations including your own while in it. -
Love how when things like this get brought up certain Devs become silent on the matter. Like I said last week a simple update weekly would save them a lot of belly aching from us salty vets. I'm not asking for any set time, just an update to see how things are going? Are they still in line with maybe getting it out this week/month or will it be yet another month or two. That and a lot of guys i know returned thinking the OW UI was the UI patch and they all ready stopped playing cause the patch is taking once again to long and don't expect anything good from it from what they seen of the OW UI. I'm really gettiing a felling we aren't going to be that impressed by it and why it took so long. Something thy said they started working on at the start of the year......

Proposal to change sail force mods
Sir Texas Sir replied to z4ys's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I have to correct you on this one, they never said it wasn't possible just it wasn't on there list of things to do and would mean programming time. Which apparently they jumped up and got a rough version done cause we bitched enough. Still needs a lot more work and hope the new In port UI if it gets here some time this year will have that.- 29 replies

Le Req is changing the game!
Sir Texas Sir replied to John Hood's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Last PB I was in and it was against the Brits I remember they had a Le Req and the first thing that happens to it? I NAILED IT WITH A BROADSIDE OF CHAIN......dropped it to 40% sails and the L'ocean behind me sunk it with a broad side as it was dead in the water. End of story it was useless trying to take the circle from us. While they are great for circle control like what was used in the past with the Prince, I think they fit find in Deep water, just make them 5th rates like the Hercs and use 4-5th mods/skills and I bet we will see a more balanced game play with them. That also limits the super stacking of crew too. -
There has never been a beta test, the game has been in Alpha pretty much since start. If you been gone 8 months than you are under these patches. The last one we had items removed. And of course the big wipe. When every one was wiped of every thing except XP.

Le Requin Testing and Feedback
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Yah that means something is wrong, cause you should loose speed and maneuverability if your any where close to half sales or more lost. -
The PAndora should be a 6th rate so a 5th rate would make since. I still think both ships should be 5th rates and keeped out of shallow PB.
-
I honestly think the DLC and ships where just that distractions to hold us off from more delays.
