  1. Yah people need to understand game balance needs to be in mind the average player. Ubisoft screwed up The Division trying to balance for the top 10% elite players not for the 90% majority of players and it killed the player base numbers
  2. It might be true base but not when you stake tons of crew mods on it. It along with the herc should be 5th rates to balance mods and such and keeper out of shallow pbs with an added higher br

  4. I mention about doing this. And this is from some one that hates the concept of a duel room i this type of game. Though I would call that more a training room. Can set the ships up how each would sale and test in a no risk eviroment. Keep the high risk duel rooms with pots/pools both can put into and the Uber takes all.
  5. It's Wedsday and I dought it will drop tomorrow, they normally drop patches on Tuesday and Thursdays. So more than likely it will get approval and we will see it drop after the weekend. Than again this might not be the big patch either, it could just be a hotfix for some known issues. Though I agree a heads up wound be nice from @admin is there going to be a patch in the next few days that we all need to get ready for? Maybe some updated post would be nice of what is about to happen?

  7. Lets be real, no one runs a solo trade ships when they are making those runs. They normally will have 2-4 Indiaman. If you put those other 1-3 on sails your going to rip up any solo hunters ships to piece so they will most likely run. If you actually don't make them all out of fir/fir and can stand up to some broad side you get those sails down you can than target the hull and put a hurt on that hunter. Now I'll agree if there is multi hunters your pretty much screwed as long as there is one hunter per ship pretty much it's a lost from the start, but if you out number them you have a fighting chance. I sent folks running that have taged me with two fleet ships in tow cause I turned and fought them. I also run myself board fit cause if they do pull one of my ships than I move right next to them and start to kill there crew and pull for a board. 380 crew and three board mods is enough to kill most folks solo hunting out there if you have half a clue what your doing. As for Trader brigs they are pretty much fucked cause of crew against anything other than 7th rates they our going to be out gun and crewed either way so you just buy time as you retreat and run. LGV's are a different story cause hardly any one uses them cause they are going for max cargo space. It really needs some love. As for OP the only way this would matter is if the OW tag tells you something like, '5th rate 20 guns' a LGV normally but some one with false guns might have '5th Rate 38 guns' Belle Poule. You will give it gun count of ships very simular to the trader ship. NOt sure what ship the Indiaman would match with in game. This would actually work great if we had paints and you could paint that trader ships to look very much like a war ship counter part or even have some paints that made warhsips look like trade ships since that is our only indicater in game is what the ship looks like in the OW. This would be an interesting addition in the game along with false flags (maybe for pirates/privateers) that allow you to look as if you are a national ship of the false flag until you tag the other players ships. Than upon battle start your true flag shows and battle begins. But I can see that so being abused even if it's just a pirate only skill.
  8. It does need a refit and now that it has been moved to 5th rate spot it's more classed with those ships. Yes against a 4th rate it's out classed, but against a 5th rate and if you have a fleet of them those 18 pdrs can do some damage, but hay you have to put guns on the ship first. First all I don't think you understand the meaning of what a Bully is. "a local man was bullied into helping them" Lets take a look at the Indiaman: 380 crew 28 guns 225 Broad side 5000 Side Armor Now for some 5th Cerberus: 195 crew 26 guns 117 Broad side 3370 Side Armor Frigate: 280 crew 38 guns 270 Broad Side 3910 Side Armor Surprise: 240 Crew 38 guns 150 broad side 3432 side armor Renommee 240 crew 30 guns 129 broad side 3633 side armor ...... It's not until you get into the Edymion that has the same HPs as the Imnad and most of these ships other than the Frigate and above have the same broad side. So you choise to be the weaker target by making a fir/fir trade ships and carrying no guns. In a 1 vs 2+ you should be able to beat the average 5th rate with a group of trade ships. You set AI to shot endless chain shot until they have no sails, push them into the wind and board them or just sink them. Every one of my trade ships are set board fit to fight (well not the shallow stuff they are just made to run). My main ship is normally Cedar/Teak not fir fir...the AI ships I tend to only make as Fir/fri cause they are throw away ships. I turn and fight with the main while the fir ships escape. I drove off players, sunk some players and well lost too. I don't instantly surrender and give up my goods. If they want them they are going have to fight for them. Disclaimer LO/WO Indiaman suck though....they just to slow and slugish lol

  11. We actually think they have hit a big wall with the menus for the new UI that might be very game breaking performance wise. This is why I keep asking for an update of what is going on. Just let us know your having problems and working on it and than hand us all a paint chest each week it doesn't come out to keep us shut up. I see that as a Win Win situation.
  12. The only reason I would want a name list if for folks that us alts to troll a nation chat and than get a chat ban and than change names. That would be pretty much the only reason I would want a history of folks that abuse chars other wise I agree we shouldn't know if some one switched names.
  13. How does that make you a bully? You do know that if they actually put cannons on those four Indiamans (which are 18 lbs) that is a Broad side weight of over 1000 pbs. AI has unlimited chain shots, you will rip some one sails down in now time. If you actually built your ship to fight back and not Fir Fir you can have the sales down of a solo hunter in no time, push them into the wind and board them. I run all my trade ships board fitted for that reason. Stop being a victem and you might actually live and win fights. Most the time that hunter will make a run for it if he doesn't have an easy target. There will be some other guy running with no guns. Your reward is you payment at the end of your run and well if you sink that hunter than you get the reward. Again stop being the victem and fight back. And you do understand the LGV refit is a trade ship right?
  14. Wrong if you kill a ship you get marks period no matter what the ship is. I have had fought off and killed solo payers tryign to get my goods. Why should i not be worth the marks if I had been war ships instead? The problem is most of the trade runners don't fight back, they give up once tagged. I lost ships and I won ships and I gotten out of a fight until reenforcement could join. All these battles should be rewarding all involved the same way no matter if your in a war ship or trade ship. I have dummped multi million dollar cargos cause I was hunting be hind enemy lines. In RL they didn't always bring the prize or ship back, they took what they wanted and than scuttled the rest. To me sinking an enemy trade ships hurts there economy which is what you do in wards. I should not be forced to only take the ship or cargo as my reward. If I don't want them than I should still get rewarded the same for sinking that ship. Oh and I solo hunt behind enemy lines with a LGV Refit with a Reno in fleet. I'm going after lone traders or even groups of them cause 9 times out of 10 they don't have any guns on them. Yes I"m in an LGV Refit for two reasons. To duck into a port i f I need to and if the cargo is worth taking I can quickly sale it off in port or stash it some where for later transfer back to safer waters. I bet if some one is smart about it they prob can hunt in a normal LGV (Indimans are just to slugish and slow to be good hunters).
  15. Most MMO's are clan based hint why it's called MMO's cause Multi Users online. If you don't want to clan up that is your choise to play that part of the game, but if you want to be involved in RvR and group style RP you need to be part of a clan. Never understood the hatred by solo guys towards clans and how they expect to get every thing in game as large groups that work together. It's like raids, you want that good loot your either going have to go do it or pay for it. They tend to be made for groups only, not SOLO players
  16. They need to bring back the map grid and give us cords on the map. They don’t have to be super accurate just general location so we don’t have to use F11 or external sources. This is a game not a sim. If I want to meet up at a location for a friendly fight I can tell some one meet me at these rough cords.
  17. You said you had a long fight. That means yalll did damage so folks should of got marks for that. If you got 2 for an aggressive you where sharing you marks with some one else that did damage as you should get more than that if you where the only one with the kill/assist.
  18. This could be the place where port resources go for the clan. They get a little of the drops of woods and other things like Cart/Cooper so they get some and can sale them back to the port to others in contracts or use them for the clan. Clan Dry Docks would be nice I have about a dozen ships sitting on one alt and a clan mate has about the same amount of L'Oceans on his too that we have as clan back ups in case ships get sunk. Would be nice if we had a dry dock to put ships into so that others can pull them when needed. The other thing I brought up is maybe have us be able to make notes of ships to keep in our warehouse. Make them cost a bunch more resources to do or have them only redeem as the type of ship you built no choise of wood types. Honestly if they had clan dry docks for a DLC I would get it for the clan.
  19. Why should they get a free trip home? We had one of our guys get hit the other day and lost a trade ship with a bunch of goods. We couldn't sink the guy that took it cause the ship escaped and tha would of gave him a free trip back home. So we had to let him escape and retag him. They weren't able to get the goods back, but we sunk the trade ship so they could only get some of the items off it. I get the frustraction of loosing your stuff, but get an escort and stop running without cannons folks. 9 times out of 10 when I hit a trade ship they don't have any cannons. That 50 cargo space you loose isn't going to make you any more richer when you loose the whole ship.
  20. I always saw myself more as the Admiral of a fleet than one captain that has several fleets. I would assume each ship has it's own captain and such, but when I'm on board I'm the fleet admiral and is in command.
  21. They sound great and will be nice changes, but can we not hold this next patch up by adding more things to it. Just get the patch done and than add to it with new patches afterwards and hot fixes. Pluss as we been asking over and over for the last month what is the current ETA on the patch and what is the update on it as to why it's taking so long. Would be nice to at least get an update so we know why it's taken so long. #SOON
  22. I can see doing some Navy refits versoin of some ships like they have the Navy bring or they could do the Navy Indiaman. The LVG is actually a troop transport more than a merchant ship. The Frigate in my view should be the base middle ground of all ships so why not give it a Navy version with the pirate/privateer refit. Admin told me they won't properly work on pirates until after release I pretty much gave up on the thought of them being something other than just another nation. They can easlly do so much and keep the pirate nation (more Privateer nation) and than do Outlaws (which have the three nation rules of no home port) and so much more but they refuse to work on that until other things or done. Hay atleast we got back SOL's so we can fight fairly against other nations?
  23. Maybe for you and the rest of the 10% gamers that think that way, but for the rest they don't like getting camped and every ship sunk every two seconds by vets that won't go fight each other . There needs to be safe zones (real safe zones) so the casuals can play and the others can grow. You run off all the Casuals, RP guys, and Traders you have no more sheep to hunt. Only wolves and that gets really boring real fast. I got to give Chris Roberston credit for something he said in one of the last videos they did for star citizens about PvE and PvP. There is a reason they are making the game 80% AI over it being all PvP, it's not fun to get killed/ganked all the time from players, so instead you give them a lot of AI to fight and do other things than just PvP. As dieing all the time isn't fun. I booked marked it where he talks about PvE and PvP.
  24. We have a ship sink, it's called going out and fighthing PvE/PvP, if folks don't want to do that and horbe tons of ships stop trying to change the way they play the game. No one is trying to force you to change the way you play the game. Admin all ready said they won't do things like degration of ships or having to have rations on ships for the crew. Not to mention just think how long it would take to recode stuff, stop aksing for more coded stuff and lets get what patches we need out. This would mean also a complete ship wip which we will get any way upon release. Also that gold we have so much , is suppose to be wiped too and change with the new econ patch. Folks might find out they aren't as rich as they think they are once that drops, if it ever does drop. #SOON #BRINGBACKPAINTS
