I don’t mind the long times between patches I just wish they gave better status updates. How’s the UI stuff going? Why is it taking so long? Is paints every going to return? What should we expect? How can we better prepare for the changes? #SOON

What is the PVP EU server don’t see that on the log in screen?

SELL NA to another developer because.....
Sir Texas Sir replied to Fenris's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I honestly think many of the players have never done any Alpha or beta testing for a game ever with some of the comments we get and reactions to changes. I'm honestly suprise we don't have wipes every couple of months when new mechanics come out. Most games do that and than give us a pack of xp, items and what not they want tested. Hell look at other EA games out the last few years. I can't even count how many times i been wiped in them. -
Admin has said in the past US sales are 50% of this game. I'm sure that is still true as that means most of the market comes from those sales that the players would prob pick US nation over some of the others. The problem is retaining those sales. If 50% of your sales are from one market you think that 50% of your player base would be from that market and it's not. Though my reason for that is another topic I'll not bring up here.

I have never called you a seal clubber and I actauly been vocal that the Prussians aren't bad on the coast compared to other nations (french). It's good to have a few guys up there hunting the coast, it's bad when it's a constant farm of new players and casuals though. Which I blame more on bad game mechanics. To many folks think the reinforcement zones are safe zones and they are far from that, they actually give false safe when a vet player knows the system and how to use it against them. I linked one of SC recent videos last week where Chris talks about why the game will have 90% AI compared to players. Cause folks don't like to loose. If you make an all PvP server than some one has to loose and that is never fun. That is why they want to make that game mainly PvE for folks to fight with the chance of PvP too. This pure PvP doesn't work in the long run if you want to keep players. Folks forget that most of us on this forums is only like 10% of the population and the most of them are casuals that never get on here.

No one has ever said hunting is a bad thing, the problem is the toxic folks that sit almost daily camping a nations capital getting easy kills constantly off casuals and some newbs. It's something different if you catch targets out side of the safe zones which is what he does, he hunts areas that are captured ports. They really need to make the capital zones PvE only and give a nice big safe zone (real one) for those players that just want to grind AI and play the game casually. Sorry if this means the hunters actually got to hunt instead or go to PvP zones. You know the best way to get some ones attention and some PvP....grind up hostility on an important port and i bet all these guys complain they can't find PvP else where will get it. If your going to bitch that is PvE well this is a game with both aspects to it, some times you just have to sink an AI once in a while to play it. If you wanted PvP only we had that lovely NA:L....oh wait that failed.

I have always said and remember this is my view on that topic. FRENCH FIRST, Prussians later, but you know when you come and screen for the FRENCH? That is what provokes them to want to attack your ports on the coast and the Bahamas. Would be nice for once to see you actually maybe kill some Frenches. The ones on the coast are not the exact best neighbors to have drying up your hunting grounds. Oh funny thing is I got some complaints leaving Harbor Island open and my response was simple, "Are you paying my port timers?" I watched the contracts and it wasn't hurting any US or others to buy Teak or other goods last week having it open, good sales for all as I even got me a bit of copper out of it. Oh and remember folks the above comment is my own opinions and have nothing to do with my clan or the US nation in game. I think that might of been his point, he still raids british ports just not in the area. I mean why wouldn't you go away and get the more juicy targets. I honestly need to get back to raiding EU french in the Gulf myself, those guys sale around in the day time thinking they are scott free along that coast line all the time (hint folks juicy unarmed targets;).

Put some commas in these numbers
Sir Texas Sir replied to Jean Ribault's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
And how #SOON may we expect that to be? -
We tried again but ... eh ... bye.

Kinda miss when it told us when we changed regions on the side of the screen too. Wouldn't be bad if it gave us this detail above the compass and a bit more zone details. -

I actually have a very simple solution for you how to solve all this. Make the capital circle bigger, I mean like way bigger for the Four easy mode nations (Brits, US, Spain, France?) Make a true PvE safe zone for them. This is the only place they can take PvE Missions and there is no PvP in this zone. This will allow those that want to do some PvE safely in there home waters to level up and learn the game. Keep the same rules we have for AI missions though in game as folks can risk them. The PvE missions are low risk so low reward, you get basic xp/gold and only basic mods drop (along with repairs and such). All other mods can only be gain out side the PvE zone for the capital. Right now these Safe zones aren't safe and reforcement is still a joke cause new folks and casuals think it's suppose to be a safe zone only to get jumped by bored vets that want PvP but refuse to fight each other and just prefer to farm easy targets. You take away these farm zones than they have to go to the PvP zones or *GASP* FLIP A PORT TO GET RVR/PVP........ Every game in been in the past has almost all PvE zones with very small pockets of PvP and they are healthy games. I have rarely seen a game have nothing but PvP zones and do well. You love to call on Eve so much and it even has safe zones that you don't really have to worry about getting jumped in. Alot of the other nations don't see it as much as we do in US cause we get a lot of the new players. They come in get tired of getting farmed out side of CT but doesn't understand why we can't just fight back. I don't want to spend all my free time chasing gankers, I want to play the game too. So they need safe (REAL SAFE) zones to let them play the game causally when they don't want to jump into the fire. Honestly anything that isn't in the safe/zones should be positional join or pretty much. The guys in the circle get pull but folks in the old big circle they have can pick to join or continue there way. I hate the two circle thing cause some times your on the eldge of the circle don't get pulled so you have to turn around and go back to the new join circle even though you where right there on that line. -
We tried again but ... eh ... bye.
Sir Texas Sir replied to Scrouch's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Your not the problem nothing wrong with the solo hunters. It’s the guys that come up in groups almost every day to farm the casuals and newbs. Actually we don’t have a PvP only server. We have a PVE/PvP server the Caribbean and a PVE only server. Stop thinking it’s a PVP only server. Y’all make up very small part of the game numbers. The rest is made up of the casuals and newbs that get farmed until they quite the game and the numbers gets smaller and smaller. -
Keeping her curent stats and making her a 5th rate would make her a very fragil 5th rate. She has the HPs of average 6th rate but follows 5th rates rules she can’t be tanked out to much and with those rules for mods and ship knowledge she will get Lower stats out of them. honestly both her and Herc need there own specially rating since in true th they are 6th rates but game balance puts them at 5th rates. At 5th rate she can still be an open world raider and still be the deep water PB version of He prince when needed but she won’t rule the shallow PB as only ship brought. She still has 100 crew or more than any other shallow water 6th rate base stats.

DLC ships and Crafted ships
Sir Texas Sir replied to Lovec1990's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Really when was the last time you made a ship? Unless your using a name I don’t know never seen a ship sold by you if your still in the us or even crafted. Though I admit this last week sales dropped to a dead with folks getting ready for school to start but befor that I been scaling shallow ships like crazy in Marsh. No one but scrubs buys out of CT any more cause it’s cheaper to craft and sale in clan owned ports. -
Forts still shoot green on green
Sir Texas Sir replied to Gott365's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
There is no green or red team to forts. They will fire upon any nation that isn't the nation that owns them. So if you jump into a US battle next to a US Fort and your of another nation they can and will fire upon you if you get to close. -
And this is why clans fail. You don't work with each other as a team. I have done runs with clan mates and I know some of the guys are still doing them when they make runs. We collect up our goods over time and than make a run for profit filling every ones ships. This comment alone shows how much you don't know the game mechanics. If your going to run in enemy waters you can still put it in your fleet. As soon as you get tagged you tell the AI to stop and you trade ships with it and than tell the now trade ship to escape and you go fight. You know if all these so called Traders do nothing but trading what the hell are they spending all that loot/money on they get from these runs? I make a few runs to friendly ports and I easily make any where from 1-5 million profit on a run using only one or two trade ships with a war ship and these are friendly port runs. Saddly shallow waters your pretty much screwed cause of the crew and gun compared to other shallow ships. It's the only time I don't run an escort ship and I take the lost of the ship they go after. I plan those runs off hours so less chance of getting tagged/found.

You do know the next patch is not just UI, it's ECON PATCH TOO?
-
Aww the little traders are crying cause they had broken game mechanics fixed. The perk was never called Fleet Optimization. You didn't loose 20% you still have it on your main ship. As for me being a PvPer I would like to tell you I"m pretty much a tripple threat in this game: PVP/RVR, CRAFT, TRADE So I do know a thing or two about trading. If your margine is so bad that you have to bring 4 ships and loosing 20% cargo on 3 of those than you are trading in the wrong goods, or your sitting on 200 millions pluss that is doing nothing. Again I don't even run Hold Optimization on my Crafter or Trader/Hauler chars. They don't need it cause I make enough profit that I don't need to stuff the ship full. I also sale cannons in two ports and ships in one to make money. I get a lot of money just for doing PvE to get my PvP/RvR too. There are multi ways in this game to make money and I have no problem with some one doing it strictly through trade, but if the Devs fix a bad mechanic that shouldn't be there so don't bitch. You will live with the less cargo space and profits I assure you. I mean it's not like half those ships ever make it any way when you get tagged and have no guns and loose a few of them. Here's a hint how to max your profits and not loose ships: 1) RUN GUNS ON YOUR TRADE SHIP 2) MAKE RUNS WITH CLAN MATES....Numbers is power, loan hunters or small groups won't attack a large group even if they are all trade ships. 3) IF YOU ARE RUNNING SOLO BRING ONE ESCORT WAR SHIP. Fight them off while your trade ships run and escapes (though this will be changes soon so no easy free ride back to port). 4) DON'T DEPEND ON ONE THING TO MAKE YOU MONEY. Econs and times change, so does game mechanics. Remember the Fine woods days, Campus Wood and Tabbaco days where you could make a killing of them. Devs saw that as a problem and changed it.
-
I actually would love to have it as a mod to put on my trade ships as I really don't have much ot put on them other wise. or even us it for other ships. I can see certain 5/5 ships this being used on to fill out that extra mod if you need to on a raider to hold goods you might raid. I also think that if we have to grind out the slots on the deep water traders they need to be 3/5's not 3/3.....at least make the LGV Refit 3/5 and maybe the future Indianman Refit if we ever can get one 3/5...lol.
-
Why they can still get more cargo in there main ship. Hell I have it on certain chars not to run trade but for the extra speed boost and to hold more repairs on my ship so I can make longer runs behind enemy waters. Than again I'm not a heavy trader, the char I use for big trade runs has these perks: Fleet 1 & 2 so I can run 2 trade ships and an escort, Mortar Brig cause he's my port battle mortar brig player and DD cause well you need every thing you can when fighting off attackers...lol The ships all ready have pretty big cargo holds, I'm sure they will live with a little less profit. Than again if that much boost was needed to make a profit they where prob doing the wrong goods or they all ready sitting on like 200 millions so it's not really going to matter if they loose a little here or there.

1st rates should not be out on there own. If they are than they should be sunk/captured for the captian for being an idiot. As for what would 5 Hervs vs something be like? Well a few weeks a go me and a clan mate was in a mission doing hostility and some Hercs jumped in. It was something like 4-5 of them. They tried to stern camp us but all we did was drop it to battle sales and creep along zig zaging so that any one that went for a stern rake would fall into the others broad sides and it would hurt them all. I maybe lost at max 75-100 crew, they never got a good rake on either of us. I demasted one just as they tried to make a run for it and they left him. I ran him down and sunk that one as he couldn't get enough sale repair to get his mast back up. So if your not a freaking idiot than you should not have an issue with a few hercs if you have a buddy. It's when your solo. I prefer to just limit the ships of certain port battle. Some regional capitals are the only ones that can get 1st rate in, while others that might have BR lower is 4th rate only. Mix it up a bit cause when was the last time we had a good 15 vs 15 or 20 vs 20 battle that wasn't out side the PB? The only time you really see a 25 vs 25 port battle any more is shallows. I know a lot of folks that stopped playing cause they where here for the 25 vs 25 1st rate battles. The down side to your suggestion is while I can only grind with this or that ship, the defender can bring in all 1st rates into my mission and destroy anything I have or a 1st rate screening fleet could do the same for both missions and PB. Oh I bet we are going to hear some trade runners bitching soon when they find out it doesn't effect fleet. I all ready see guys bitching they can't over load ships any more lol

I kinda like it when the 1St rates where more restricted behind RvR but I agree it wasn’t fair for smaller nations and clans at that time, but now we have low BR ports so therI is no excuse. If a casual none cleaner wants one they could always buy one off a RvR clan for a price. though I think limiting port battler would be the best way to restrict the use of 1st rates and some SOL. 1st rates should only be used in regional capital PB not all deep water. Make some ports only 4th rate and below or 3rd rates. That would give some of the br ports more variety and allow more ships in the smaller br ports than what we get now. Also have 1st rates only able in deep water habors which would be most of your regional capitals. That way they can’t be all over the map at any time. We need to give more reason to use the mid tier ships more and more. That fine but pirates ar the only ones that can capture SOL ships. Anything above a 4th rate a national captures is sent back to the Admirality and not keep. 4th rates and below any one can capture though. You didn’t read what he put like typical y’all jump to something thinking it’s something else. What he was meaning if you didn’t like the 1st rate restrictions on PVP server you can go to PVE server where there is no RvR or Clan restrictions on SOL at that time. In fact y’all can even capture them so don’t even have to craft them over there. He wasn’t trying to insult any one on the PVE serve so calm your titts man.

Le Requin Testing and Feedback
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
I still never understood why folks aren’t forced into battle sails for battles. If you at full sales you should have accuracy and reload penalties. Also make it so you can only repair in balttle sales. This will kil the guy running constantly healing his sails. the same goes to DD make it only active if you are in board prep. -
As for the Requin and new balance. I think the 6&7th rates was needed any way and looks good so far by what I looked at for most ships stats. I still think to solve the Requin issues is it needs to moved to 5th rate like the Herc as a glass cannon raider of trade ships keeping both shallow ships but not part of shallow PB. This willl fix the mod stacking of crew as they can’t use light hammocks and the % for crew at that level is way smaller. Both BR need to be bumped up to around the Cerberus level to so around 140-150. Which willl limit them in PB use too. The BR part needs to be done no matter what.
-
Pavel needs some of its old stats back for sure. That are make it the only ship that can use poods and give it’s proper cannon lay out not what it has now. With that l’ocean should be using only the 36 not the 42 and that will help balance it some. Victory should get its 68 on the very top deck and maybe some stat changes to bring it back to being the braking agil 1st rate of the three. And several of these guys keep saying they are won’t put guns in cause it’s a sure lost. Maybe if you go for less profit and more surviability they wouldn’t be a sure lost. I never have more than fleet 2 on my alt that hauls all my stuff and the main ship is almost always a 5th rate to protect them. I don’t need max profits cause I make money doing other things in game like sale cannons and ships and killing big AI fleets.
