  1. BR is a good step so you can’t take as many. When Hercs ar fought changes to it we found 2-3 ships hard on it can sink them easily so that prob about right with the Requin. Just it can more easily escape the fight. The BR will make some difference in PB too. Why is the 1st rate alone in the first place?
  2. Even West coast EU would help. I play other games that have servers in the France and London area and get way better ping. Though Iceland (or is it greenland) is another great sever location some games are set at that gone the EU route.
  3. I just honestly want to see the gun lay out of it, but hay maybe it will drop in the morning and I'll have something to do when I get off work at 7am. Just think if they bring back paints #HINT #HINT #HINT @admin
  4. Actually I know a lot of guys that actually enjoy fighting AI's. Not every one is a super max out elite vet that acts like some ones pissed in their cheerios every morning. You do know the majority of the game does not revolve around PvPers number wise right? That over loaded indiamans should of had an escort cause if an AI can get it, than well a player for sure could get it. The problem with Epics is they need a group of 6 players. I would love some solo missions like that where I go against one or two buffed AI (either ships or how they fight). The only issue I have is like the Epics is that AI don't follow the same rules as us. Those ships in Epics are way to fast for how buffed up they are, they need to be slowed down to match there speeds @admin food for thought about a complaint on Epics, have ya'll thought about slowing down the AI to match there buffed out stats. If we have to take tank out ships to match them and they can do circles around us and still tank something is wrong. AI need a big speed reduction in EPICS. It makes it to hard to disengage to regroup up and repair and get back in the fight when they can run you down even at 50% sails. Aggressive AI would work best only in the zones. Those zones are suppose to be dangerous after all even for the solo hunter. Not easy hunting grounds like they are now. You don't want to deal with Aggressive AI than hunt in the other nation owned none protected waters. Also could make great missions. GO to these waters and hunt the dreaded Pirate/Privateer. You don't know what AI it might be so you have to tag some until you hit the one with the special name, if you sink or capture his ship you get a special prize/chest with a nice reward.
  5. 325 so the same as the Trinc. Which get me thinking 26 guns on one deck and what is it 6 on the top or is that 12. Her top deck is going to very lightly gun compared to say the Trinc or other ships around that level. So she's going to be kinda like a buffed up Reno with one full gun deck and a few guns you prob will just put something light in for tagging. I'm still wondering what her chasers are going to be like. Would be interesting if they took those 6 guns and that was the chaser and just have her with one gun deck pretty much. This is good to know, so I honestly think something like a Indiaman Refit would make a great imported ship for the future, up her gun/crew and maybe some performance with half cargo and new paint. Specialty ships like that would make better imported ships in the future that aren't going to be PB or OW battle OP and a pain to balance. In fact all the imported ships in the future could be just Refits with new paints of ships we have in game with slight state changes. As for up gunning ships would be interesting to test out this on other ships and the effects of putting max gun would effect ships more than they do now. You will only get top speeds out of certain cannon loads while others none traditional heavy would effect stats more than they do right now. Other than speed heavy gun loadout doesn't really effect ships that much and even that is so small.
  6. Have we thought of doing some mixed decks testing like we have on the prince. While it's listed in ports as haveing two decks all the cannons are on one deck at sea. It would be interesting to see a few more ships like this. I'll use the Pavel as an example of this. 3 deck says it had 18's in place of the 6 pds we have on it right now on the top deck. We could fix some balance issues by putting them on the top deck. Would it be good, maybe and take a lot more crew, but it had them at one time (1794 set up) it also had the "POODS" 6-4 of them on the bottom two decks. We could actualy get an in game version of them that only goes on the Pavel (just like the 36 lbrs that no one ever uses on the L'OCean which should be the only guns allowed on it's bottom deck). Maybe have the Diana with 6 slots that you can put either the 24 lbrs in or 12's and the rest of the deck 12 lbrs or all 12's. Would be interesting to see more of this so that the Prince isn't the only ship with mixed decks. I would love to see more cannons added to the game, even if they have restriction to which ships they can be used on poods only on Russian ships for example. Hell even if they have exact same stats as the common cannons we can craft, but it's just something about having brass cannons or poods or something on you ship that other ships might not have. Though I would keep them restricted by Nation ship or something else so they don't become a problem like the poods did when they first came out. Poods can be brought back as craftable but restrictd to only Russian ships (Pavel) and keep gift/NYE items with a none restricted tag on them. Could be a good way to make a mission reward with items like this. Sink so many Pavels and you get the designs to make Poods (restricted ones that can only be used on that ship.) While I love end of year gifts but please don't restrict that as the only time we might get something like special cannons or paints..........SPEAKING OF PAINTS WHY ARE THEY NOT IN GAME? @admin I know ya'll wanted to change them a bit to make them more like ship knowledge but that will take a ship wipe to put in place. Can we get paints returned to the loot tables cause we have so many beautiful ships out there that are just so bland and boring and use to have so many great paints. Can we get PAINTS BACK PLEASE. It's not like you can't just wipe them again later. Oh and fort testing can we make this first batch of "Diana's" notes tradeable if you plan to make it not in the future. I have 5 chars and I'm not planing to play certian ships (like the xebec when it came out) but I will prob redeem them any way if that is how we will get these, but I would prefer to be able to hand my crafters and the dedicated hauler the extra ships to some one that will be fighting and testing the ship than just let it sit and collect dust in the docks. YOu can lock them after the first week or something but let us with alts and those that just can't stand smaller ship trade them to folks that would use them and will prob sink them be able to do so.
  7. Honestly we have way to many deep water ports in that range. There should be a few none important ports so small clans can claim and hold but not half the ports out there
  8. While in the right step this doesn't stop the crew/boarding abuse problems. Right now no other shallow ships can even have close to the same crew as the Requin without mods. Niagara can only get to 240 If I remember right now and that is only if you stack every crew mod/build on the ship. While the Requin can go as far as 387. A crew fit Niagara going against a only board build Requin with 250 crew is going to destroy the Niagara cause it isn't hit by moral. If it's crew fit than the crew is so high that it pretty much one shots any other shall ships even without board mods. This is the biggest issue I keep seeing every one avoiding when we talk about balance of the ship. It's why it should not be in SHALLOW WATER PB's. Unless your going to give it heavy penalitys agaisnt being graped to crew lost which it needs cause it's a very fragil open deck ship. Which other than moral any time crew mods are stacked they should have added crew lost when hit cause of over crowding.

Requin not only needs higher BR with the Herc, but it needs to be a 5th rate to stop the abuse of crew stacking, it can still be done but it will get the 4/5th rate mods/knowledge not the light ships. Please try these two fix for now the BR and rate change and lets test that. I think a lot of folks have mention around the 140-150 range would be about right. PS you know you only have 4 more days in August....;)

  11. A good point on that data would also mean who did you fight? Was that Requin some casual or some one of equal skills to Rover members? Remember the game should be balance upon the skill of a casual player not the vets. I have killed a few myself and while I’m an average player the ones I beat where casual and way below average players that didn’t know how to sail the ship. The only time I have beaten one against an equal skill player I was in one too.
  12. Also remember you don’t get the reward until the last person leaves the battle so it might of came a bit later as some one could stay in battle up to 15 mins aft r it was over.
  13. By the twitch I was watching last weekend they did the same at Cayo Bisc. The Cabo Carn UWS fleet was there old normal set up but that battle was uncontested cause lake of numbers on US side. If this the norm than I don’t want to do PB any more and I love the small ship big fights but they shouldn’t be all small ships in deep water PB’s. BR need to be fixed soon and that ship should be a 5th rate just as the Herc is.
  14. XP is based off damaged done in battle no matter if you win or loose. Marks are based off Assist and Kills. If your not getting XP in a battle is cause your not doing any damage to the other team or doing better little. OP can you show some screen shots where you didn't get any XP an lost the battle? I know this very firmly as when we had the wipe I fought tooth and nail on testbed and after to get it returned cause we use to not have XP for damage and I thought it was unfair to the little guys that helped in battle but might not got any assist and/or kills or lost the fight. If your not getting XP I would say do an F11 and make a screen shot and post it on here. Also PvP rewards are x bonus vs PvE rewards so if you fight a PvP battle against the same type of ship as PvE you would get more xp in the PvP. If your not getting XP than you prob didn't do much damage. Remember your shots have to pen and just shooting sails doesn't give you a lot of damage, but should give you some any way.

  16. Don't get me lying on this but I thought it was 75 for none SOL's (and towers) and 150 for SOL's and Forts. Than again they could of changed it and I just never noticed it. The point is your suppose to get more points by sinking ships faster than by just sitting in the circles.
  17. As @Fluffy Fishy said the new model is closer to the actuall ship than what we have now which is a very old game model and isn't true to the ship design. THey should bring in the Classic Connie and make the current one a generic 4th rate frigate. I don't know where folks keep getting refits from. Though I can see the old model maybe getting a new paint and refit stats to her.
  18. What he said, the yacht has the oldest numbers but they might of tweeked somthing. The other one that is the FLAGS DLC it's been there since the last few patches (more hotfixes) sinece right after the OW UI was dropped. Yep that been there for a good while, but does look like they maybe did some changes to it.

If you look at the steam info on the game they are staging for a patch so we will prob see one Monday or Tuesday after all, hope it has the new ship in it and a few good fix's many of us have been waiting for with certain ships. Dirty is just tweaks they do to the test server they have so that gets updated almost every other day. Clean_Openworld is what the game is so when you see Prod_Staging and QA that means a patch is about to drop that isn't just a hotfix.   20. 6th rates have all ready been buffed. The issue is it uses all the 6th rates perks/ship knowledge which is more % than 4-5th rates. So by making it a 5th rate some of it states will be lowered and they can't stack light hammocks on the ship. Also the 5th rates hammocks are only 15% not 20% more crew as 6th rates are. With a ship that has over 100 more crew than any other 6th rate and states very much like other 5th rates it needs to be put in pare with them. Actually most people are complaining about it being OP in Shallow PB"s as it's now the only ship used amoung other things. I really don't see folks bitching about 5th rates. If your smart they won't be able to sink you as per how you explained it, but 6th rates don't have that optoin in the shallows as it out classes them all even with the buff still.
  21. Maybe they where at speed cap before sail damage, and now they are just below it even though they only have 50-75% sails compared to some one with 100% and they are still out running?

Back when they where taking out the teleport after battle option (end battle results screen) I though it was great now folks have to sail there prize back to port, but the problem is no one really does this unless it's a gold/purple ship or something. Everyone just scuttles it for the marks. I would still think this would be a cool mission to bring back the captured ship for an even bigger reward from the Admiralty than just scuttling the ships. That there was the very thing I keep bring up when I was fighting for them to bring back XP for damage in battle so others folks that didn't get assist and kills would still get rewarded. In real life you brought the prize back and some times the ship was auction off, other times it was given to a new Captian (former officer of the ship that capture it?), they rarely scuttled the ship on the spot unless it was to keep from getting back into the enemy hands. With that they also on the pirate side mainly took loot and was on there way. We need to have a soft surrender command. Say you don't want to loose your ship and all your cargo but there is no way to win the fight. You strike your colors (that would be a good name for it STRIKE COLORS). One of the enemy ships has to come and capture you if they want to take your ship or they can just inspect your crago and take from it. If they don't capture you than you can leave the fight after a set cool down timer is meet. If they haven't capture you by that time and you decide you want to return to fight you can raise colors and get back in fight. While colors are striked you can't board or attack any one. I was thinking of this the other day on that post about makeing the xebec have some special false surrender abliity. With this if I catch a player and he strikes his colors I can take his ship, or I can inspect his cargo and take all the copper off it he got from a bottle, but leave the rest for him as I have no room to carry Textiles or other loot. Maybe I catch him with a mod or something he forgot to put in his chest, but i don't ruin him completely and he doesn't loost his ship. Or we can complete ignore him blow past and continue to chase another player allowing that player to escape if he feels like he prefer to.

  24. You want to blow than don’t board and you should blow. Specially if you ram and get your self in shock. Now what I can see the reason it turns on is maybe the other ship is putting out your fire?
  25. I don’t see an issue with BR for shallows other than two ships. We all know what two ships. They should be around 140-160 BR and both 5th rates left out of shallow waters but still able to enter deep waters to take light frigate rolls in PB. Keeping the 80 BR for the Mortar Brig game that can play in both or if some one wants to bring in a light ship to deep they can. Devs already screwed up BR just about every time they touch it so let’s. It make it more compkicat e than the current system that works. I wonder what the port break down of that mainly in the deep water. How many 5k ports how many 7k and so forth. Seems very few have big BR.
