  1. The problem is definitely that your video card is too old. You'll need one that natively supports DirectX 11 and Shader Model 5.
  2. There are a few topics floating around on this already. It's annoying, hang in there. Do NOT retaliate in any way or you may run afoul of the rules! I know it's hard, and annoying, but don't let them win a second time by getting you in trouble for shooting or ramming them.
  3. Depends entirely on their relationship to the wind. Try this thread: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/8431-ship-speeds/
  4. You'd be better off sailing over to the nearest friendly ship in the Open World and clicking the Attack button, since you'll keep all of your gold, the ship you're sailing, crafting XP, etc.
  5. Admin is the lead person for the game (not sure of the exact title, we'll just call him the Lead Producer). Nobody knows more about it, the code that runs it, the intentions for features, etc. than he.
  6. Ramming or bumping friendly ships to interrupt their boarding (without them requesting it) is not permitted. A Captain of the age doing this would have been hung from the yard arm for treason. Discussions are currently underway to figure out how to handle the issue of someone "stealing" your prize by interrupting your boarding. For now, consider ramming a friendly to interrupt boarding to be green on green damage and please screenshot it happening and report it via Tribunal. Thank you.
  7. We already have more than one significant thread on pirates. Please use that thread. As to Game Labs' stance on pirates, here is what I posted in the main pirates thread: For now, that is Game Labs' stance. There is no "caving". That is the stance. Before questioning others' courage, I would suggest that you put up your own time and fortune to make a game. Personal attacks on the developers will not be tolerated.
  8. It was granted as a reward for people who tested the servers the first few days. She hasn't been taken away, she just hasn't been made widely available yet.
  9. Ahh, I misread the original post. As Maturin said, I don't think this was ever done.
  10. The false flag mechanic is extremely difficult and complex. Currently, it is not considered to be feasible to implement.
  11. Niagara is not currently available for craft/purchase. I'm not sure what the long term plans for her are.
  12. Correct. T will remove most of the jibs and staysails, which is pretty much what I think you're trying to do here.
  13. The code to do this isn't done yet. Unfortunately, your progress was lost. Apologies!
  14. If a boarding is going badly for you, or you're boarded and you think you're going to lose, or even if you just don't want to be boarded right now, you can attempt to disengage. Disengaging takes four or five rounds, and I'm not sure what your penalties are while trying to do so. If you're successful, your ships drift apart and you may begin maneuvering to get clear.
  15. There is not enough evidence provided to assert any wrongdoing. Case is closed.
  16. This case is under review by the Admiralty.

  19. There are currently no rules regarding running in Small/Large battles. Captains are encouraged to fight their ships. Closing the case.
  20. There is currently no rule regarding running in Small/Large Battles. Captains are encouraged to fight their ship. Closing this case.
  21. This case is under review by the Admiralty.
  22. There appears to be no major violation of the rules provided here. Captains entering the Small/Large battles from the Missions tab in port are advised to fight their ships and not unduly delay the game.
