  1. - Ships of the Line - Remove the excess Dubloons needed but ramp up the resources needed accordingly ( if 9k doubloons needed in addition to the Permits - permits are already worth doubloons - something like 450% more resources needed, no idea something like that to balance it out ). That way you keep the logistics going and retain the need for Permits for the Grand Fleet ships. - Add ALL 5th and 4th rates as Admiralty rewards. I agree with too many Nations. But that's just me, sole Impossible nation should be Pirates but I also see the nice communities of Kingdom of Brandenburg-Prussia ( can we have the name changed ? ), Russian Empire and Commonwealth of Poland Lithuania.
  2. Joined pirate vs 3 brits. Pirate in Herc was very quickly dispatched by the brits, 2 requins and 1 niagara. I was in xebec. Managed to capture the Niagara while i was sinking and forced both Xebecs to call it a day. Avoided all boarding attempts ( and it wasn't 1 or 2 ). Sorry man, the ship is not all powerful nor can do impossible things if you play accordingly. Truth is, the battle could've gone either way but it didn't. That alone shows how dynamic the Naval Action combat can be, and how an average player can and will have epic battles to remember. ( salute brits, epic fight. ) Xebec is not invincible, is just easy mode versus captains that have yet no clue about the game, true, but the xebec will not be able to push any of the 6th rates unless they are rag tag sails, some 60% - 70% and upwards of beam reach. Stop telling lies Slim. If you can't do it doesn't mean newcomers cannot learn to do it. And they will learn ( same as we all did since we first even set first hour in this game).
  3. That is a suggestion, not an answer to the Q&A. ( although personally i agree with it ).
  4. ? nope, nothing will ever be. It is a hobby. I reckon i only engage in hobbies i like, NA being one of them. And you ? Snappy salute o7
  5. Witty . Any Bellona sister ship that could be used ?
  6. Yep. Correct. 3rd rate =/= 3rd Rate ( name of ship ) Guess chaging the name for the "3rd Rate" could help @admin
  7. Will never be bigger than War, but given before it had like 60 tops... make your assumptions. Plus I am sure if you stay there a bit and check chat you will recognize a lot of names
  8. Given a Lgv I attacked had - 500+ bermuda cedar - 500+ oak - 500+ coal Actually stockpiling two ports with just crafting resources captured from NPC traders. Hemp, Coal, Oak, Iron for repairs and an assortment of Bermuda Cedar, Teak, Lignum. Still mission LO and WO. Not every trader has that stuff, majority is just trade goods.
  9. It is great to read another's player expectations. Refreshing and sobering. Glad not every player plays the game the same way and that is good. Sandbox. How to bring the population to 3 servers full ? Simple. Give all ships all the time everywhere with full hold of repairs. No need to convolute too much. Snappy salute.
  10. Several clans actually moved to Peace server since they wish for a relaxed, couple hours chatter and shooting guns without any interference. I'm not talking about War server exclusively No surprise their numbers are missed in the War server, but there's a ton of new blood learning the ropes. No country for old salty vets I guess.
  11. Yes. A challenge in game design and in player willingness to compromise Remeber when Crafters within a clan were "revered" individuals ? Like a couple of them and lists of ships to build and everyone wanting to give them hours and help them crafting ship parts ? We, community, requested the democratization of crafting so every solo player could eventually play alone without resorting to other players to play the game fully. ( oak crisis, iron crisis, introduction of buildings, outposts, etc... ) Crafting a Flag should be a ressurgence of multiplayer group effort, if possible, and not a mechanic where we can store excess warehouse items to constantly pop out flags.
  12. Acting like doomsayers helps nothing at all. It isn't the end of the world and the apocalypse is not coming to the Caribbean. Setting sail and conducting age of sail experience in the game is what it is about, be it in the Peace or War servers. A visible thing is undeniable - arena oriented players login for a couple hours in the zone and then logoff having their battle of NA done. Fair and square and they know best what amount of time they want to dedicate to the game. Others enjoy the OW sailing with "imminent" unknown, the chances of finding a enemy and engaging - it happens less often than fighting in the zones but it happens nonetheless as there's equal or more players that enjoy OW grand age of sail more than arena. Thing is... zone is small, so easy to get combat. Map is big so OW aficionados have a bigger "arena" to explore. Again, naysaying is naught, meaningless, void. Getting to grips with the game is what it is. This new development phase brought all types of players more to the even table. Access to everything has been made possible to both PvE and PvP crowds. There's no more distinction, especially with the missions, as both can be fulfilled with both forms of combat. Meaning both have access to the same chances of getting drops, equipment, books, etc. The necessity of having a squadron sailing together is another great feature. No more a distant tagger and a fleet sailing for minutes. No more hiding in port. No more hiding inside a battle waiting to set a amubush with a tagger. So, sail together or risk not being able to enter because "if entire game was 1:1 scale you'd never be there to participate". There's a lot of AI in where a nation ports meet other nation ports. But you can't expect to be like the old Belize, for example, with enough AI to feed thousands of players across the day in the same spot. Nope. Captains are expected to project sea power, not sit in port waiting for targets. Capture of 5th rates has filled the gap as well. They are good enough for a casual to go it capture one and then use it. No need for extreme crafting, but if one wants to go to high endgame Conquest, then one is expected to participate more into the game. Hope the game gets even better in delivering a nice age of sail experience. Even in Peace server the spectacularity of the game is undeniable.
  13. Yes, but all types of occupations can participate, not only the guys sitting in the ships of the line. That's my view on it. And yes, a hard fine game design feat to do it. I am sure we can bring up a proper age of sail admiralty list of all supplies delivered to a Grand Fleet ( 10k BR port fleet ) before setting sail and work from there.
  14. Not dubloons, resources similar to victualling a invasion fleet. That way high BR ports flags cost more than others.
  15. I am consciously blind and ignorant to "i want this game to be the game it isn't" type of replies. PvP is and comes in whatever form and shape in NA. Accept it, enjoy it, embrace the wild west or wait for Duel events. Best of respect, snappy salute.
  16. Gank issues exist in every open wargame/combat multiplayer title. Is not a NA issue. Please do not make it like it is NA exclusive. And NA is not arena game.
  17. In 1v1 aye. But what squadron versus one ? RIP brave captain...
  18. Admiralty notes must not ever be a better alternative than crafting the ships. IMO.
  19. Okay. It is maybe badly worded. Do you have data that proves it does work for all resources ? Would help the Q&A instead of keeping it going. Thanks a ton.
  20. Correct and agreed on the flag exploitation and the "empty ports"; nothing to steal, win, loot, etc. What would be the appropriate rewards in a wargame where you won and defeated your opponents even if you sink no ships of theirs?
  21. Excellent. This is Port management screen right ? I'll say it is the port production items as in "Produces: ... ... " Delivery of resources, such as those we cannot produced are under the posted rules above, so yes, not certain if more are delivered or not ( but then the quantities are by contract mostly except backwater ports....)
  22. Of course ! As soon as the flag is crafted in one of the Naval Bases ? No idea but that's how it worked back then, flag was pulled and a warning pop up on screen !
  23. When upgrading building it states the improvement in production of %%. I would assume it is for that specific infrastructure. Can you provide a screenshot of a Trading Company level x ?
  24. Yeah... that's what i think of when i read RAIDS !!!! ...
