  1. Flag is announced and must be crafted ( list of all resources needed for a invasion fleet, not simple buy flag ). If not crafted then it is false. When it is ready the Invasion Fleet is announced. You can create your own fakeflag clan and have all the fun you want with it. Think you will enjoy your fakeflag clan as a midshipman after so many demotions. Disconnects is an issue that both attacker and defender will have to contend with. Same with getting screened, intercepted, killed in the open sea, etc. Why go back to flags... no idea. Devs asked for RvR proposals and this is mine. Non stop war for those that want it.
  2. I don't care about politics. I care about a living breathing Caribbean in the age of sail Naval Action. Players make politics, not the game.
  3. Road to Port Battle ------ - Ports open all the time, no timers. Possibility for multiple attacks per day to the same port. ( flag planted, battle set for next day ) - Intervals of 180 minutes between start of battles. - Conquest Flag - Crafted Item with miscellaneous items mostly used to supply invasion forces ( and army pay ) - Global Announcement of Flag being Crafted by Nation/Clan against Nation/Clan ( no details of where and to where ) - Mandatory creation of Port Battle Group for Port Battle in the port where Flag is crafted. That is the Port Battle Group and the ships that will be able to enter the PB, no one else. - Global Announcement of Invasion Fleet set sail from unknown location to unknown location ( Invasion Fleet = Port Battle Group ) - timer limit for flag (?) maybe - false flags is possible ( flags not planted), but will result in rank demotion for all members of the Clan creating the flag. - Only Commodore and above Ranks can craft flags. All ranks above Master&Commander included can be part of Port Battle Group. ------ Port Battle ------ Current system seems to be the best yet but can be improved. Capture circle and leave it deserted should yield no points. Capture and Hold should give points. 3 circles means a Vanguard, a Center and a Rear at its very basic. Applies to both defender and attacker. ------- Post Port Battle ------ Conquerors and Defenders of a new port will receive Admiralty Rewards according to BR of port. - Gold, Silver, and Normal - Additional Rewards: - conqueror port battle captains may sack the market of items leftover by enemies - ships, resources, etc - up to the limit of 1 item / 1 stack per captain. No more Port ownership payments. No more Open to All. Open to clan -or- Open to nation - this is in regard of placing contracts only. Building and outposts work normally, entire nation has access. Tax system 10%, can never be reduced. Those fund will go to "europe". Tax system can be augmented up to 50%. Excess over 10% will be added to Clan treasure.
  4. It is not a specific ruling towards provoking discomfort but secondary effects that lead to that discomfort. All trade through Market is the way to go for many reasons. If you want to go smuggler with yer other nation buddy sure, do it in the OW, and surrender your ship. Reason 1 - flow of currency through the Ports markets. Meaning tax flow to the owners. Reason 2 - no monopoly of resources except if you own the port. You, your clan, your nation, own the Port. That is Conquest. Reason 3 - More shipping and more conflict. From the enemy and from your side. That leads to more combat, whether you wish it so or not. The notions of free trade were, undeniably so, subverted by a metagame system that goes well beyond the simple "spy" but with deep roots in the logistics system which, when well done and coordinated can both supply everyone with nice ships, but most often paralyze nations and clans by drying out essential supplies. Will multi nation ALTs still be viable ? Of course they will, but no more cross trade, they must put everything on the market. And that generates Taxation money for the owners at the very least. A small measure of peace and influx of treasury to those that conquer a port well known for very much sought after resources. ------------- Empty seas and not wanting to fight are the same face on the coin and all resumes to: - wanting to sail always the most powerful, where the content for the most powerful ship is undeniably fleet action and conquest ( which requires multiplayer action ) - not wanting to sail ( when sailing from A to B things can happen. when teleporting or sitting in port nothing will happen ) - not wanting prolonged engagements ( battles are 90 minutes, a lot can happen ) The running engagements are nothing to be blamed for. It is part of the age of sail engagements. And 90 minutes are sometimes enough to bring that running fight to a conclusion.
  5. Clan based warfare is great. You are right. We should do away with nations, make it just one nation and outlaw battles. Cheers.
  6. For the players that just enjoy a nice gaming session with their buddies, sailing to fulfil a contract, sailing to find some resources, sailing to deliver some badly needed luxury goods, it will not affect a thing. All the discomfort toward meta-alting. That's all I wish for this Christmas. Think I was clear.
  7. Given i start fresh account at every major patch, i beg to differ. And I'm finally Trading in resources and Crafting post patch 27 so no, i don't have a slightest clue of how trade and craft works, but i'm learning. It will NOT affect players without alts, like me. NOT a single bit. Actually it will help them overcome a lot of obstacles posed by alt monopoly of markets plus having all the resources and trade goods pass through the "black market" like now will end. Everything on store and on auction. Tax influx will be bigger, clans will gain, and dedicated Traders will have their dynamic missions to fulfil the needs of others like them or crafters or devs know what... But hey, we all have our own opinion, and this is mine. Respect.
  8. The more discomfort the alts have the better on my book. Just my opinion. And NO. It does NOT harm players without Alts. Not...a...single... bit. They will be able to finally compete directly in the market through missions or whatever the devs conjure.
  9. There's no some, the same as some trolls use xebec, and some xebecs are used not by trolls. There's no some. We are done here, sir. /no offtopic
  10. No idea. I only know she is beautiful ship.
  11. It may be a ship favoured by trolls, but by no means she is a troll ship. 😪
  12. Fair point Wraith, but I think, correct if i'm wrong in my reasoning devs, then they do it through the Shop/Trade Missions, hence giving tax to the port, hence giving cash to the owner clan, hence making economy roll and making a profit while they do it.
  13. You shall not abuse the new guys. You shall not abuse anyone that does not agree with your politics. For that you need no Outlaw, you need to go Enemy Nation and teach them a lesson. To teach newcomers you need little more than what's in place - attack AI, do green on green duel. Or attack AI fleet and train formations, etc. Need no outlaw for that
  14. It is great fun to play with another person even if not in same clan. Multiplayer starts at 2 persons, not 1. That's how many of us joined small groups. Play with this fellow or that one, then change nation and try again.
  15. Correct. They are a weapons platform to be part of a fleet, not a self sufficient ship like a cruise frigate. Plus - multiplayer game. For economy and for combat. Solo is a choice, not the default.
  16. You have the choice to sail it. Does that answer your inquiry ? Is all about what you choose to do. Here, you have your Rear Admiral commission, now do whatever you want with it.
  17. yeah... we players are horrible and we loathe to give enemies an opportunity to sink us ( I am certain there's a ton of ships, stocked, that will be wiped on release that no one will use and they will go up in smoke... because ...salty reasons. )
  18. They are Grand Fleet national treasures. They are supposed to be used by you and your fellow captains to bring death to your enemies and subjugate their ports to your will or to intercept their Grand Fleets and destroy them utterly in true heroic fashion. In the meanwhile frigate captains are filling their pockets, same as all other raiders.
  19. And travel in convoy with escorts, please.
  20. ...can't possibly give everyone a 1st rate... I mean, devs can but... well... whatever...
  21. Gentle on mistakes + lethality, for example. Sail something that can take punishment and deliver concentrated death, even outnumbered. Not saying is bad just stating it is what I learned, and still learning. For example, 1 battle in "frigates" PZ had 8 Indefatigables ironclads out of 12 ships. Maybe we were lucky and bounced the Indefatigable die hard fans ... *shrugs*
  22. Meta players no. Those liking the experience in the age of sail that the game offers yes. Sadly, in my humble view, the meta is the majority, but you are right that very few will. But had to say it, lest we forget those who are here for the niceties o7
