Better Ships for All!
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to p i t's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Same with captured ships from the AI. Or ships captured from enemy players. ( many times capturing the ship is way more valuable. I got the pvp and still got a ship to fight more the next day ) -

If you talking about wargaming.net, in the case I posted, they sold DBA Online battle packages. Can't remember the prices anymore but was something like 5 battles 12 dollars or something similar, and packages of more battles at reduced prices ( reckon you can google it ). Once you had fought your 5 battles versus another player you'd have to purchase more. This was way way before any of their freetoplay arena galore. Regarding wargaming per se, it is discussable if WW2 is more popular or not. I'd say it is even with Napoleonics, with ww2 have a huge share of hex die cut and napoleonics having a huge cut of figurines. In the end gaming is about the hobby ; be it in the table or in the screen. One either likes it or not, and not every system ( game ) is for everyone. -
After a few evenings testing PvE side of things: - hostility missions AI loot seem to have more repairs than the OW AI May be just pure chance but, if it is not the case it makes good sense. Also OW PvE in the War Server is like a walking stick. To ensure you always have something to chew on now and then - and to hunt for those Chests ( statistics don't lie )

You do have them. 7th-6th rates in the capitals and Kill missions for other rates somewhere in other national ports. Sail there the previous day. Next day operate from there. Have the exact same issue as you present, and sailing to other ports ( usually i switch 3 outposts per week to different parts of the empire ) gives me enough missions ( have a list of 10 between kill and hunt/S&D ) to do when i have little time. Don't want to sound rough, but plan your naval campaign. Some days are just a voyage. Others are more action. Hope you don't take this opinion on the wrong foot.

How can a new player start?

This is the raw cruel truth and especially the reason I was, personally, against any mechanic to stuff all the chickens in one coop ( bahamas, safe zones, whatsoever). There be foxes out there. Lazy foxes. -

Those "death stars" are national Home Fleets / Med Fleets intended for Conquest. Projection of sea power is best done with 74 guns flagships with frigates, corvettes and unrated consorts. Those are appropriately expensive to engage the enemy in all forms and wherever they may be found. Reckon we may well be on the road of "credible historical" orders of battle instead of the MASH! of ships-of-the-line camping everywhere waiting for enemies to devour. -

All good and that but... ... the moment a sea rover ( privateer, pirate, corsair, you name it ) comes in and steals the stuff the fellow will post in global chat ( hoping it makes any real difference... ) - GJ pushing a new player from game by stealing all my stuff ... You can give them all the golden egg chickens but if something happens that interrupts their pixel welfare they go pretty mental. What happened to the - guys, just got unicorned by the bastards at la orchila! - who ? those pirates again ? - Yeah! - al'right, let's get them! - ????? War War War. Fight Fight Fight. Regarding the OP. Sure... why not. A Encyclopedia. I would prefer much more a battle replay to make my movies such as...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxGCQRr2TWM -

You are right but... ( and taking on years of pvpers concerns - which include dreaded speed caps and other mechanics ) Admin said: ...We prefer to focus on motivating the fighting, not running... ... The test shown that people prefer less risk... -

Descry a sail in the horizon. Identify such as a enemy. Quantify opportunity to engage. Proceed accordingly in a intercept vector. Engage. - this can happen when sailing from point A to point B If I teleport from point A to point B nothing of the above will happen for sure. that's my 2 cents. -

That's the ones I got. Excellent casting. The french knights both mount and foot are just stunning. Got a Early Mongol horde as first army. Found out that 1:72 are good enough anyway and cheaper ( plastics ), bought some for a Crecy setup but still have them in the packages. Damn it.... need an early retirement so i can get more time -

DBA/DBM is a great system. I know Vassal engine and other similar ones have the setup for them. Regarding DBA base system minis, still going on with my 2 army pack for Agincourt, in a scale of 1:5 amount of troops. Should be done... any time soon 🤣 -

Clan Flag DLC

In this subject I wish to stick to historical flags, so not a supporter. There's enough to grow the Flags DLC collection and deliver quality to everyone. -
Hercules ship feedback
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Ink's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
First: review her sail plan forces and angles. She seems extremely good at all. Second: acceleration/deceleration - she strikes me as even better than the Snow at times Third: turning speed - not so much bleeding, but then she is not a lengthy ship with a shallow keel, not sure on this. Her 18 pounders were used in the River Plate against the Spanish colonial fleet but during the raiding campaign in the Pacific she probably didn't have them. All in all she is not OP but can be very unbalanced. The Cerberus, Renomee, Surprise, are fairly commonly outclassed by her. ( barely see any being used nowadays with good reason ) She is a do-it-all nice corvette that requires almost no economy game requirements BUT benefits from being able to be redeemed using "rare" woods that cannot be produced - instant teak/cedar/livewhite oaks delivery. -
Was a straight answer to the question. Whatever choices you make during the engagement are your own. I do think that type of "robbery on the high seas" despicable. And yes, Tribunal requires media proof - screens, videos, etc. - or specific timestamps, names, etc for log verification if it comes to that.
