  1. No. Nothing like Holdfast... Replay like in many games, like TW series, IL-2 series, Sid Meier's Ace Patrol, etc
  2. Should be a Trader thing with reduced marks.
  3. Very pleasing to see many of these battles taken as it is - a game. Nothing like good handshakes in the end of a battle, no matter what. Also they can be good "tutorials". Need more machinima though, need a replay function !
  4. veterans were new ones once, they had to learn the game completely anew a dozen times
  5. That's the groups name already. The Clan name item is the User Interface text. Instead of clan ( like in conquest windows ) have it to be changed to "insert best option here"
  6. Upwind. AI always try to get the windward side. Same as good humans.
  7. When one single player can loot 500 NPC ships to find 1 specific drop it means it is not even, remotely, a difficult thing, now is it ? Given there's tons of drops everywhere, i'd say it is not 1 player, but plenty.
  8. Most profitable and unopposed trade raiding campaign the sea rovers had ( and we were 4 of us there ) was in global. And that was with the reduced population in comparison with ol'EU. ( with Cerberus mainly )
  9. Can take the man out of the black but never the black out of the man. - captain PG Monkey -
  10. No. No. And no. No more artificial things please. We get enough. Manually trim sails, reduce canvas, etc to control the leeway. It isn't hard.
  11. 5 slots seems reasonable request. Regarding its attitude on the wind some examples are given by privateer/corsair records, mainly the flushing of the gun deck to include more crew and higher railing along the weather deck. After all the objective was to board and capture cargo. ( is this even a thing in NA atm ?... ) There are as many records of ships becoming "better" at close haul as many recording that the refit did mess the ship lines becoming way worse in all winds.
  12. Bahamas. Shop ships. Raid group. Raids in other areas. Again in a group. Shop ships. There's always targets. Solo ? Possible as well. Overcome the sense of loss, the tears and the salt and everything becomes clear. This is not a Ego sprint. This is a lovely age of sail marathon.
  13. Moon rules the tides... oh yes... please.
  14. laughing my atlantean arse off gg jodgi
  15. I am supporting it of course ; and sharing the views on the same subject since a while ago.
  16. Modules are the devil in the current form, as you well put it.
  17. I agree the wind rotates too fast. I wonder if it is at the same rate as the OW. The wake astern shows the leeway quite nicely, try at 45º and 90º and then let her fly at 175º. Quite visible the deflection angle. I agree on the crew damage albeit the rigging damage is well also accounted for, same as hull. Regarding looting, i will agree the old system was more comfortable but came to love the new one somehow and given its specifics of having to interact with the ship, especially for transfering crew I wonder if it will be possible in the future to have it so a trader can surrender cargo to a raider without surrendering the ship The T-bone i would imagine being a "limitation" of model collision ( happens in all games ) but can be easily interpreted as the rigging getting dramatically entangled as per so so many accounts of battle in the age of sail. On the other hand the lack of damage to the standing rigging when such a collision happens makes it feel odd
  18. Thanks for being attentive though. Salute.
  19. I was in the battle. There's no farming related. KOTO fellows and some other pirates were inside the zone and would never be tagged for 'fear' of reinforcements, me, being prussian would be tagged by the Spanish fleet, so the pirates joined to fight them. Was a normal battle.
  20. A shipment of good stout red beer is on its way, so the message delivered stated. Farewell to 2017 and all the great things that happened.
  21. They do. In every group i've been, all fairly small, there's always at least one fellow that all he does talk about is crafting, production buildings, good trading ports, moving stuff, etc. Their mindset is economics, not the combat. Collaboration between different playstyles is the key in a game that involves everything. Trade fuels war fuels trade. That's a dutch saying from the age of sail.
  22. @Sir Texas Sir Both under command or in fleet.
  23. Some guys really like the "truck simulation". Happens in all games like this. Even in ED, which has extreme similarities. But then Leonard Nimoy station would never have been built without them. Ever. ( and it took months ) So, what is different ? We stand in the middle, neither this nor that.
