  1. Agreeing. Stating that communication needs two mouths and four ears, not a mirror.
  2. Both ways for sure. It is no competition.
  3. Thanks for clarification. I asked apples, you answered oranges. Still, we definitely stand at antipodes regarding that specific reward design.
  4. Putting a ship in the water is rather easy even without marks. That's a great benefit for pvp players already.
  5. Rather it is the exception that makes the rule Human factor of Time Expenditure for a specific task or tasks cannot be computed in - I decide if I spend 2 hours or 12 hours - unless by specific design - example from other games: merchant that is asking for the cargo will be in destination within the month for 3 days period. There's no urgency in trading Actually there's no urgency in anything.
  6. Not exploit, just a unintended effect. Pretty normal in games being developed. Economics are the harsh design in every type of game given resources do not follow a natural IRL cycle - mines ceasing to produce, new veins of ore found somewhere, entire forests cut down and naval production having to be changed place ( oak for teak, from mainland GB to India for example ).
  7. no idea what's in the notes and cannot launch the game atm. in my end was 8.x mb, not 1.2 ?!
  8. To each its own. Space truck simulators or in our case, sea truck simulator, is a occupation as important as any other. That's not the subject here. It is important to note the loophole on Delivery missions. The "this is just too easy" should be a signal to report it ; but in spectacular fashion two issues got covered - the web of delivery missions and the cash limit.
  9. @vazco Totally get it, but let's look at proper trade values for the age. A simple freight, pretty typical for the era. Nothing major like expensive luxuries ( which freight services weren't given to individual captains but to trading companies ). Now tell me we don't have something really odd when we make thousands and thousands of pounds in one similar freight. Funny part is that, in the steady run, trade was more consistent profits than navy service. That's how odd our things are, when a officer pay, not prize capture, just simple allowance and his service done ( mission ) can be many times above trade.
  10. I think you can do this already ? Choose NPC on left, choose enemy to target, choose order. Reckon you mean a generic order without selecting any specific target, but I guess that confuses the AI.
  11. Raids tended to be fairly large and with months of planning. The biggest difference ? No support from a nation power per se, so it tended to be a grab, loot and run affair... of sorts. Raiders, when successful could stay a month in the place. Gameplay wise I would say raids would not need any hostility raising, but rather be enabled by "tax revenue" on that town. So the more successful a port is the more chances it gets raided. Let's suppose the threshold for raid would be set at 250k tax revenue. A unannounced raid could happen during that port timeframe. What then ? A PB ? Makes little sense. A OW battle ? Sounds better. If it is a OW battle, could it be a random of possible 3 spots near the coast close to the town ? ( simulates bucaneer parties landing and advancing on the town ) Stays open for how much time ? Entire idea is nice, designing it to detail so it can be reviewed and possibly implement needs max attention, let's do it
  12. All nice propositions, especially the inclusion of damage to crew with grape and boarding. Cannot support the towing. That denies a recapture if needed. One of the aspects I like the most, as trade raider ( or did before true trade wars were removed ), is to bring back the prize to a safe haven and be open to a recapture. Very age of sail and true to form to many statistics, in which more than half captures were actually recaptured in some cases.
  13. Or bring the values to historical levels.
  14. Absolutely !
  15. He is not accused. He was asked to answer a question in a honest fashion. Do not read more than what is written. Captain is not a shallow individual. He will surely treat this subject in private with the devs.
  16. The entire proposition is good. I like several points, the main one being the preset elevations, which is actually correct. Funny enough was slower to setup with the elevation screws albeit more stable Regarding the Aim highlight, I'd simply make it without the extension of individual guns. The highlight of gundeck broadside remains to the full extent. Individual guns at 100m phase out.
  17. Find them. Report them. Don't abuse them. That's yours, mine, everyone's pledge on early access.
  18. Not saying it is not. Please, do not read my words with your mind. I specifically said any odd findings should be reported. Any wrong with that ? I guess not. Safe travels, watch the horizon. I mean, when not in the safe zone.
  19. Sorry to say, but the moment a certain fellow found a 3000% profit with Iron Fittings a mere 2 minutes sail it was reported and promptly fixed. Same with a lot of other economic "shortcuts". Some are intended, some are not. A tester knows when something is not correct and is bound to report it, lest wait for game release. In any case, let the Devs look upon this bug.
  20. +1 to Fenris suggestion. Regarding the reply... that would something for the irrational DLC. Naval Action: Port Sitting... ... oh wait ... some fellows already testing that for quite a while.
  21. Gotcha. Fair enough. Can be a "help" to the undecided. A handholding is enough. No focus on it. Please.
  22. Can see it at any port by clicking join Fleet Practice ? Not sure...
  23. Well said sir. Would be less conflicting if the aforementioned "chronicler" would have used appropriate age of sail honours to bestow sir Gregory. I am sure they would be much more interesting and provide a tip for further research how real "pvp marks" could be.
  24. Sure. But would even be better to have 1v1 versus Blood than having Global being spammed every 25 seconds - join join join
