  1. Long version: http://danmarknorge.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/CommunityNA.gif Short version: Couldn't embed the longer version. Also. Not directed at anyone, just an observation about how we act in the community sometimes.
  2. When I try to embed a gif into the Meme collection topic I get the following error from the forum: Seems to be connected to the length/size of the gif, even though the gif is located on another website.
  3. Live server or testbed? On live server, the advantage is mainly in not loosing a life from your officer that you have trained. You also keep your remaining crew, so you don't have to pay for replacing them. On the testbed I believe that you save your remaining crew by surrendering, again saving the cost of replacing them.

  5. From the album: Gazette

  6. I made this list back with the last portwipe. Some changes have happened since, but it's still mostly accurate: These topics by devs should be able to help you out:
  7. If anyone wishes to read this issue in plain format, it can be found here: http://danmarknorge.org/may12/ More than I care to admit^^ I had help from some templates, but I have no prior experience with video editing software so I had to learn as I went, by experimentation and google searches.
  8. In light of the recent popping up of several Naval Action Newspapers for PvP Europe, I decided to make a special pre-wipe issue of The St. Croix Royal Gazette, which I've been working on since the wipe announcement:
  9. As far as I can remember a couple of modifications have been made to the map in the past by players. Someone was able to add coordinates to their map before they were implemented by devs, and one mod just replaced the map with a historical one. That was by editing your gamefiles directly though. Not Steam Workshop. I'm just saying it's already possible, though you probably have to jump a few hoops.
  10. I haven't changed anything or any settings, and it seems to happen on all of my devices independently.
  11. Geralt is definitely Danish.
  12. At the moment it happens to me every time I refresh the website if I haven't been scrolling for 15 minutes..
  13. I use Chrome on Mac and Windows, + whatever browser my Windows Phone has. It hasn't happened for a few hours now since I've been by my computers, but it happened on all devices earlier. At first I thought it might be because I'm switching between devices, and that they reduced the number of simultaneous sessions per user or something (since it hasn't been an issue with 3 devices before, only with 4), but that didn't seem to be the case.
  14. Farming alts is prohibited. And there are mechanics to try and pick it up and prevent it. Like the mechanic that you cannot get points for killing again someone you recently killed. Sure, one could maybe buy two ships for ones alt every day and farm it twice a day if one has the money and patience for it and insist on cheating. It would be pretty obvious in the logs though, so if reported you'd probably be banned or reset to 0 XP on all your accounts.
  15. Is it just me that gets constantly logged out of the forum and repeatedly have to log in again? Every time I have been AFK for a while and get back to look at the forum, I am logged out and have to log back in again. I have ticked the box for the site to remember me and I never had this happen before. It's not a huge deal, but still I thought it worth mentioning. Is it just that something is being done behind the scenes that requires the forum cache to be wiped repeatedly and all sessions ended? Or is it a bug? Or is it only happening to me?
  16. No point advertising before the wipe. The obvious choice is to wait till after the wipe when there are lots of new exciting changes to test, many mistakes have been fixed and big changes have been made now. Veterans will be coming back to test the changes, and we will be supplemented by new testers buying the game. Inviting people now before the wipe will just infect whoever joins with the pre-wipe depression that is rampant in the forum and in the game right now, and they will also have all their assets wiped just right after they started playing - a bit of a setback. Wait till after the wipe, and the people who join will hopefully have roughly the same experience starting out as those of us who got into this game in January 2016. Apart from this I second @Macjimm's post above completely. Low population now is not a crisis. Servers will be filled when the game is finally released. Regarding discounting and advertising prior to release, devs have clearly stated that they are intending/considering to advertise and discount the game on Steam after the wipe has happened: Google Translation: Which is presumably why they are trying to get this wipe-patch just right and taking the time to do so despite our very loudly expressed impatience. In Scandinavia we have a saying which is roughly equivalent to this: "good things come to those who wait".
  17. Noobs are moved to main capitals and are instead given more safety there, simply by the changes in mechanics that will make camping or raiding capital waters way less viable if there's anyone there to defend. This will be a safer start for noobs than being spread around the shallow areas which didn't really give them any protection. The US in any case will have no need for added safety. The location of the capital far away from anyone else and not easy to access by conquest and thus teleport, will give it a lot of safety. I don't know why they removed the rookie zone, but I believe you are exaggerating the consequences implications. Who's really going to suffer, if anyone, are the Lesser Antilles-nations who will have their spawn areas (capitals), and thereby their noob areas so close together that there will be no safety in capital waters.
  18. Rookie zone removal was Hotfix 2 to Patch 9.99 (testbed)
  19. We've been assured pretty much from the start that this game will never be pay-2-win. That means no OP premium ships and no having to pay real money for items or resources that give you an advantage. Despite pushes by players, devs have been hesitant even about making a shop for purely cosmetic items like paints. One grey area is alt accounts, but they are out of developers control and not actively encouraged. I would however imagine that we might see some real money exchanges in the future Naval Action Arena game that is under development, but that is separate from this Naval Action game.
  20. As I understand the OP, this topic is not about listing your clan or your Teamspeak address. It's mainly for listing unofficial Naval Action websites. Though the format of OP may be somewhat unclear, since plenty of unofficial Naval Action websites are not run by or affiliated with clans, but individuals (like @OlavDeng2's http://www.navalactionwiki.com/ or @UnicornBuster's http://navalactiontool.xyz/ and plenty of others I could go dig up) The format in OP suggests these don't fit in however. We already have a topic for listing teamspeak addresses that seems to be still maintained in OP (although nobody has submitted anything to the topic for a while): http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/3240-voice-server-list/ We also have a list of clans stickied in this subforum ( http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/1734-list-of-posted-naval-action-groupsnavies-updated-may-29-2015/ ) but it hasn't been maintained or updated for a very long time, so I guess if OP and title of this topic is changed and clarified we could replace it with this one. Make this topic about an inventory of the clans recruiting. Then we can also link from here to our respective recruitment topics that might be buried somewhere in the subforum. And we can make a separate thread, with a different format, to list all of the Naval Action unofficial websites that we can find. Be they clan/nation websites, tools, wikis or whatever. I used to have a topic collecting most of the tools and websites for Naval Action in the forum on my own website.
  21. No. It is better that devs communicate with us than that they guard what they say. And it is better that we get all the new systems in for this wipe so that once the kinks are worked out the live server will be sufficiently together that devs can discount and advertise the game to bring new players (testers) into Naval Action. Besides, they are sticking to exactly what they have said. They have said that they are aiming for may 15th, but that it is not certain they will make it. Whether the wipe happens 15th of May or not they haven't diverted from their word. I'm not sure he's saying that mechanics got into the game that was pushed by players for an advantage. He's saying that a lot of proposals that are made in the forum are made primarily to promote ones own play style or advantage. I fully agree to that. The forum is full of people who are more concerned with winning and securing their own advantage in the game, than to actually improve the game for all players and all sides. However those pushes, however vocal and numerous, usually don't make it into the game. They do however clutter up the forum and lead to misgivings between players.
