pvp eu Total War against Great Britain
Anolytic replied to Senhor Lenhador's topic in Caribbean News
I'm sorry to say, but I think devs might have already fulfilled your war goal for you. Relative to their population, brits access to conquest marks is abysmal.- 285 replies

Teleport to Freeport Outposts is disabled
Anolytic replied to Sir William Hargood's topic in Support
Pay traders to do the sail for you. Put up contracts high enough and someone will find it worthwhile to do that sail and fullfill your contract. -
He should demote every officer except the one he wants to be the new clan leader first. When he deletes his character the clan creator position will fall to the next officer/member on the list. So make sure that only the new clan leader is left as an officer. As long as you follow these steps, the clan creator position will fall to the player you want, nothing will happen to the clan (afaik not to the clan warehouse either), and the new clan leader can re-promote officers and invite the old clan leader back into the clan once he recreates his character. We tried and tested this, but keep in mind that it was before we created our clan warehouse. To be safe you might want to evacuate your clan warehouse before following this procedure.

If your clan creator hasn't played since the wipe. Get him to delete his character and recreate it (then log in and get reinvited). Because of the wipe, and if he hasn't used his redeemables yet, he looses nothing by doing this. We did this in our clan.

Trying to solve revenge fleet problem
Anolytic replied to elite92's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Reactive gameplay: "They came to our waters and ganked someone. Let's gather on their battle spot and wait around 1 hour for them to come out so we can countergank!" Active gameplay: "They came to our waters and ganked someone. Let's make a group and go to their waters and gank some of their ships in return." I prefer the latter kind. It means I spend my time either organising, sailing or fighting, and don't sit around for an hour in OW twiddling my thumbs while waiting for someone else's battle to end. We want to encourage PvP? Why not encourage PvP to foster "revenge" PvP, instead of the way we currently encourage PvP to foster "revenge ganks"? People are now doing PvE while they wait for the call to come sit on a location and wait for the opportunity to revenge gank someone. One thing though: If you capture someone's ship, be it a warship or a trader, then you should have to sail it out again from the spot that the battle happened, running the risk of a fleet trying to recapture that ship and the cargo. -
Basic cutter vs AI LGV competition
Anolytic replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Do all AI LGVs have the same build characteristics, or do we have to try over and over again till we come across a fir LGV? Anyway. I wasn’t even going to try this, but I figured that I had to at least participate. I like this initiative from the devs. My second attempt. (First time the LGV sank me...) Here you go: 11 minutes 37 seconds. -
This is starting to become a thing. 26 people on the defending side in the Road Town port battle currently ongoing. Once this starts happening in contested port battles it's going to be a real issue.

Isn't that what Labour contracts and Extra Labour buildings are for?

You bring up a very important problem. With the current weight of War supplies, bringing 100 war supplies into an enemy regional capital to drop is all but impossible. And on the other hand just converting 500 PvE-marks into war supplies right then and there is as easy as nothing and saves hours and hours of work. But it cannot be how it is meant to be done. If it was, then devs could just halve the hostility grind and remove war supplies from the game. Everyone will be doing it this way if it is legit. There is a distinction between having an unfaithful servant of a nation help out, and having an alt in the enemy nation that you can puppeteer. But how does the system, and the devs, distinguish between the two? The system as it is right now is not only prone to abuse, it more or less shoves exploitation on the players. It's not just a short-cut it's a giant neon sign that says "do it". The system for getting and using war supplies should be changed drastically - or removed altogether. Because right now it's just a way to foster dishonesty. 5 mill if you buy war supplies 1 by 1 with gold. Only 500-600k if you buy 500 PvE-marks at your capital, teleport them safely in your captain's chest to where you need them, and convert them into war supplies there. It also means that the weight of the war supplies will never matter.

List fresh commissions in capital
Anolytic posted a topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
To increase the chances of new players joining the game sticking around, have the community welcome new players. To do this we need the tools to find them. What about having a list in-game, only accessible in the capital of each nation, as one of the tabs in the UI. The list would show all the captains who recently accepted commissions as ensigns/kadetts/etc in their respective navies. List the 50 or 100 most recently created characters in your nation. Allow clans and individual players alike to use this list to contact new players and welcome them to the game, with a friendly mail perhaps, explaining the basics, and inviting these players to join the community of the nation. -
Cheaters or Bad Game Mechanics?
Anolytic replied to MajorGosnell's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Depending on yours and others' ping, ships' positions in OW can be off by 3+ ship lengths on your screen. I've seen similar things happen because of it many times. Any tag where the ship is very close to you when the battle starts will cause spawns to be seemingly a bit random. -
Cheaters or Bad Game Mechanics?
Anolytic replied to MajorGosnell's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Regarding their spawn location, there is definitely no cheating going on there. Just knowledge of game mechanics, or blind luck potentially. Any OW fight has two join circles. Their location is determined by the relative positions of the 2 ships that initiate the fight ("tagger" and "taggee"). You were tagged by Jones el Tuerto, who is the surprise spawning in front of you at the beginning of your video. Since he was in front of you when the battle starts, the pirates reinforcement circle will be in front of you in OW, and the British reinforcement circle will be behind you. To reinforce the battle, the pirates outside had to sail inside the bay to get to their circle. Unfortunately for you, you failed to notice the lag spike when they joined, and sailed straight towards them. The surprise overtook you in OW before he let the tag countdown run down. To counter such traps, use defensive tags. Also: You do PvP in 1st person pov? -
Yes. The clickfest is definitively the cause. Probably because of ping, the server does not register fast enough as full and accepts more players into the PB before it closes entry.

The bug that sometimes allow more than 25 ships into a PB has not yet been fixed. For the San Juan PB, which is ongoing right now, we have 28 ships inside on the defending side. This bug really needs to get a fix. In this PB it does not affect the chances of any attackers, but presumably it does mean that more than 25 players will be getting pensions from San Juan, an important region.

Major combat bug - cant use rudder / crew doesnt do anything
Anolytic replied to Corona Lisa's topic in Support
I think that's just because he has selected different key bindings. It still says "enable brace", so brace is not activated. -
Denmark-Norge Verenigde-Provincien: War Espana: War France: War Great Britain: War United States: War Sverige: War Pirates: War Danmark-Norge only has interests. Sometimes those interests include shared interests with some of our enemies. Currently any agreements that we make are simple trades-something in exchange for something in return-and restricted in time, location and extent. All agreements are strictly temporary and should not affect open world conflict.

I can't say 100% for sure, but what we have heard from Swedes is that they also don't get the important region bonus anymore. Either someone was trolling, or someone was making unfounded accusations.

Finally! The relative rates used to be pretty good before the pensions were introduced. Blueprints should be quite a lot more expensive than permits, so that becoming a crafter is a much bigger expense than buying a new ship. This also gives lord protectors an advantage in becoming crafters of high level ships, but not an insurmountable one. I still think that we could go back to the old conquest marks prices from before Such is a lord, but at the same time only give pensions once a week, reducing pensions by a factor of 7. Or just increase all conquest mark prices so that relative to each other blueprints and permits are about as expensive as they used to be. Could we have the notes from yesterday's hotfix too? You removed important regions - anything else? Actually I thought the important regions were a good thing, although some of them were unwisely placed (right next to the danish capital, giving pretty safe access to a safe region that is also very hard to have flipped in order to change lord protectors.

I get this, though with the caveat that the range of the home defense fleets of Sweden, Danmark and France pretty much overlap. In theory (not only) a Swede could get counterganked by danes right next to his own captial, or vice versa. Since the patch I pretty much only PvP in privateers. I'm not particularly good at it yet, but at least I can always get away.

This would bring us back to when players would hide from a chase by jumping into a mission. Pursuers need to be able to follow their target into a mission.

Such is a lord.... part 2
Anolytic replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Then all you do is encourage people to deny others conquest marks simply by not showing up. Creating even more empty PBs.-

By "the other nations" you mean Britain, the absolutely largest nation in the game. Your statement proves absolutely nothing. It is well known that Britain has always had full timezone coverage. They have a history that draws players from all around the globe. We play a game with historical nations, flags and names. Danmark and Sweden are not going to attract as many new players as Britain, and among US players this problem is magnified. My clan recruited several US players, but never enough for a critical mass or to have a US timezone(s) PB fleet. And you ignore the fact that only a percentage of players are interested in PBs. So 25 US players does not mean having consistently 25 players for PBs in US timezone. Most US players wanting to do RvR choose either US, British or Pirate nations. They probably can't even place tiny Danmark or Sweden on a map. Alliances were determined by the 2 largest nations grouping together to give themselves the most possible safety. Also add US to that, because birds of a feather flock together. This is how it goes every time, on both the EU and US server. The remaining nations were pressed together into an alliance simply to survive. You seem to be under the delusion that alliance partners are chosen. That is only true if you are the biggest nation that every other nation wants to ally with in order not to be the one to get eaten. No. By separating the communities, both communities will be stronger.
