I’ve brought this up before. But, please, can we get the ability to add players from enemy nations to the our friend lists? I have lots of Swedish, Spanish and French captains on my friendlist from when we were allies, but I’ve never been able to add my friends from the Dutch, British and US faction to my friendlist. I don’t see any reasons why this shouldn’t be possible to implement. Or any reasons why it would be a bad idea. As mentioned, many of us already have plenty of «enemies» on our friend lists from before the wipe. Why not let us add a few more?

An Open Invitation to All PVP EU French Clans
Anolytic replied to Christendom's topic in Guilds, Clans and Trading companies
Admin has embraced the meta-game diplomacy multiple times in the past. If that is what you are attacking us for. However that agreement not to attack each other's traders has already been mutually cancelled, effective as of tomorrow. Personally I am happy about that. Neither of us really need the free passage, and I have spent way too many hours already sorting out situations with players who couldn't outrun a basic cutter in their trader brig... We really need another 10 or 12 diplomats just to sort through the screenshots.- 30 replies

Admiralty refits - bonuses information
Anolytic replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Interesting. Looking forward to testing them. It's okay if they require some work to get, but if they are simply rare, then you will create a barrier between the haves and the have-nots. You get the Strong Hull bonus disaster all over again. If everyone can get the refits, then it is a tactical choice which one you bring.- 99 replies

What about clans that exist on both servers and have active recruitment on both Global and EU? Should I create a duplicate topic for RDNN in the Global-subforum? -
Looks like good changes all of it. I don't think we need the conquest marks back. They are too harsh and they make RvR exclusive. Nevermind that clans arrange port battles for their own players. Conquest marks make it so that players who are not in a clan that already does RvR and already have Conquest marks, can't get ships to participate in RvR in the future. It's a negative spiral.

Good video @Jeheil. Even though I play on the other server I will probably keep watching. There is some momentum now in the game, and I hope we can capitalise and grow on it. If we keep up the heat until the summer sale we can hopefully get another boost to the population. Hopefully the global server will especially benefit from that. Even if we play on the EU server and intend to stay there, we should all recognize that it is important to the game as a whole that the global server grows and we get more US and SEA players playing there. Hopefully the global server will soon see at equal numbers at least to the EU server. RDNN is not a server exclusive clan and I already had the clan up and running on the PvP2-server before the wipe. We are now trying to grow our numbers also on the global server and we have began recruiting US and Australian players from both the Global and the EU server to join RDNN on the Global server.

Some very valid questions are raised in the OP. To some extent though, I see it as those just wanting to sail a Santissima or a Victory because they are beautiful models in this game, they should be happy in the coming Naval Action Legends. This game on the other hand, if you can find a proper clan you can get into any ship you want eventually, but for the most part it's for duelling frigates in OW, and maybe the occasional rich mf going out in his painted 3rd rate. And of course port battle fleets and hostility grinding groups with big ships.

Also: Are you certain that you checked on the right server?

Why you picked the PvP server you are playing on

The poll has separate options for East Coast USA and West Coast USA, but all of Eastern Europe seems to be conflated with "Russia", and all of Asia with "China". I guess South America goes under "far away from EU", but it makes no sense if for instance Ukraine, Belarus, or any of the many "-stans" of Eastern Europe should not be grouped with Russia, which covers those same timezones. Also, Russia has more timezones than US, so why not East Russia and West Russia? -
In the meantime players are now harvesting resources far far away from their capitals and teleporting them home risk-free. Hope you find a solution to this problem soon.

This isn't a solution to any of the problems with night-flips. This proposal would be like the emperor's new clothes. Like putting a band aid on a severed limb. All this would change is that you couldn't be night-flipped in frequently contended regions more than once a week. But unless you recently lost all of your regions and regained them, you would always be open to night-flipping everywhere. And this would still give the nations/alliances with time-zone coverage a free pass to take regions they lost back without challenge if they just wait ~10 days, leaving us exactly where we were before the split.

If you deleted your character before redeeming, your redeemables will still be there when you create a new character. You can create a new character with the same name as the one you deleted, but you have to wait 5 minutes from deleting a character before you can create one with the same name.

I know several players have been spotting amphibious NPC-fleets, so I thought I'd make a topic to collect reports. I spotted this one right outside Christiansted, sailing right throught the peninsula that separates the Bay of Christianstæd from the Salt River Bay:

I've had some issues/bugs with looting ships in battle instances. First off I discovered that the weight of oak logs in the hold is different from what the splitting tool calculates. So when I tried to split a stack of ~149 weight to fit in the 150 weight hold of my basic cutter I ended up with 163 weight even though the splitting tool said the weight was 148. This confused me a lot, but I tried to still work it out by splitting off a few more logs from my stacks. Then I discovered the next bug. It was impossible to split off individual oak logs. If I chose a stack of everything but 1 log, the minimum stack I could get out of it seemed to be 2 logs. Scratch this part. I just watched my own video and realized my mistake. At this point I said f it and put everything in my hold, pressed exit and then left the battle. To my slight surprise this caused no issues. I was able to leave with my hold 120% full, enter OW and sail into my capital port to leave the prized loot. Later I looted another AI trader and got some really heavy goods. I was able to stack about 300 weight worth of loot, between 2 or 3 different types of resources, into my hold and sail back to my warehouse with all of it. My basic cutter must have been stacked full of goods both under deck and on deck. How it didn't sink under the immense weight I do not know. All is well that ends well. Still, I'm asking if this is intentional or not. Are we supposed to be able to loot Indiamans with a basic cutter and sail all the goods back to port? I have a short video of my observations:

Have I understood this correctly??
Anolytic replied to Tacticus's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Yes. That is what Forged Papers are for. You will be able to change nation after redeeming and playing in a nation for a while. You keep all your stuff, but you have to move all of your stuff to a freeport yourself if you want to have access to it after using the Forged Papers. -
1. Coordinates were not removed for realism reasons, but for gameplay reasons. As many of us expressed, part of the "Experience" of Naval Action was the challenge of navigating and the constant chance of getting lost. More than this though, the removal of the GPS pushes players towards the coasts and into predictable sea lanes. You can no longer easily plot a course far out to sea in order to minimize the chances of coming across an enemy player when moving from one location to another. To navigate you will have to follow the coast, meaning that you will be likely to bump into other players also following the coast. As I have understood it from devs statements the map will be redesigned/revisited together with the UI later. Maybe to bring back the grid - but not coordinates - or add other tools. However this is far into the future and for now the map will remain as it is. 2. If you set up base in a small region or cluttered area, there are no problems finding AI to attack in OW, of all sizes (finding fleets of the right nation you want to attack for hostility however, that's another matter). If I just want to grind mindlessly PvE it wouldn't take me 2 minutes to find a suitable fleet to attack. 3. Except for existing clans and player names not being wiped, which was a bit surprising (and a bit disappointing I must admit) there was no surprises about the server situation. It was quite clear to me by the information from the devs, that the physical server structure would remain unchanged, and that only "server shards" - the data on those servers - would be manipulated. At that point it made little sense to make a switch of the shards between the servers just for good measure, adding tons of extra work and potential for data loss. While unexpected, it does make sense why they did not wipe our characters or our clans from the servers. If they had, the following situation is bound to have happened: People would be rushing to grind money and create clans clans and characters with names that other people and rivals had been using, just to troll them or to extort them. In my clan we were planning to rush to secure our own clan tag on both EU and Global server, and I am sure others had the same concern. Luckily I created RDNN on the former-PvP2-now-Global-server months ago so I was fortunate to not have to remake the clan on either server, except we had to jump through a few hoops to replace an inactive clan creator with an alt account to control the clan.
