Please Stop PB Log camping before it starts
Sir Texas Sir replied to Jeheil's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Tonight on PvP2 we where blockading St Agustin for the Spain (only one player showed). We where more doing cause as Pirates we figure it's the best way to get PvP from US cause they tend to run all the time. Well we had a great blockad set up and figure we might get some of them in our large group of about 15 players of mixed ships and spread out to cover the entrance of the port. Guess what folks logged right in front of the port battle window and joined before you can get over there and tagg them. I did get a SOL (can't rememebr if it was a pavel or Bellona) and a Rennon and let the towers beat them up a bit and was about to get the Renon when he was able to escape cause he was demasted and sails can't be hit half the time in that state. Well that isn't a big deal, but when I got out the PB was filled with 25 players. Most of them where from folks that had logged out before hand and than logged back up cause the rest of my group had a large amount of US players in battle. The funny thing was we didn't loose a single ship, but we captured 5 US first rates from that port back to St Mary. Not a single Pirate ship was lost but they still captured the port and lost a good number of 1st rates, but instead to PvP. Every thing on the out side seems to work great but unless your going to do a ready room style system you need to have a block on folks that just log in from joining the Port Battle. You all ready have the timer for folks that have agro for that port and those that don't. Just make it where they can't enter the port battles 5 mins from logging into the game. This will make it so they have to actually sail to the port and enter it and fight to get in. Not just log in and jump in. It makes doing a blcok aid completely pointless. Cause next time what if it was one of our own ports we are defending and not just a port we are trying to get PvP at? -
Got the actuall new wood trim changes or any changes to the trims?

New wood not matching description
Sir Texas Sir replied to MikeCK's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
I'll test that out an ask th guy that has it to hit a trader and test the moral cause I know he has it for tagging not boarding. If he starts with extra moral than we are prob correct on that one. -

Yah I made a Rattler with Ceder Speed and got Pirate Refit perk for region. I really want to know these region perks as it seem to increase the turn rate and added structure HP. My base speed with no guns was 14.44 -
Make that port that is getting the agro in that area turn red on the map so you know around where the misisons are being done. Wouldn't want an exact pin point dot, but the agro warning at say 50% to give a heads up you need to get over there and do something if you wan to stop it. Prime time port battle slots for each server prob will fix the problem of off prime time port battles. Can make a pretty good size window. This could force the off hour players that back to the servers that are in the proper time zone they want to do port battles for or they just have to get up at odd hours. Though they need to allow transfers both ways for this to work properly. We keep hearing one way but not back the other. I'm sorry if we go to one server and it's in EU I'm out of this game. Until it can handle the ping and game lag of large battles even on the better server you get major lag in big battles. I won't play on a server that is 4 times worse. If there is to be one server it needs to be at a location that has the best over all ping for all players.

Likes and dislikes of new patch
Sir Texas Sir replied to Mrdoomed's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
How exactly did you loose it? As other said there was plenty of warning and well if you left in a now enemy port there are ways around getting it out. I'm liking many of the changes, but one thing I think is a little OP is the towers around ports. We watched them sink a trader in a blink of an eye and take down a 1st rate in not much more time. I get the reason for them, but they might need to be toned down a bit. They should be more a thorn in a side than something that will flat out sink you before you can get away from them. I was tagged in my Trader Brig just before I entered a port. Well the tower sunk me before either of us got sails fully up and moving. There wasn't a single shot fired by the guy that tagged me and he didn't get ship or cargo. I wasn't pissed about the tag as I prob could of got away from him or even loosing the ship, but by how fast It went down. I had half water and no armor after about 3-4 shots (prob was more). Having 60 something cannons is a bit to much specially when they all fire at once upon you and seem to be way more powerfull than any guns we have. We tested this out by tagging a fleet close to our port and watched the port guns just destroy the NPC SOL ships in no time. 7 ports have this as something you can make buildings of. There are a few sources out there that allows you to search this. -
Yep and press gang works once more. I had hit a Vick that was about to sink and got an instant win with my Board fit Bucc and got back the crew I had lost before hand from splinters. I was like all new who's next? Yah got a feeling this might get adjusted a bit.

Patch 9.96 - New conquest, New trading, New ships and other things
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
All it means is that now with the new wood types and such you can actually craft a better ship than what you had before. If it stayed Exceptional than that means you pretty much got a top of the line build. Yah I need to test it, just going off what he said, but I think he rolled right up to it and got into a hot pickle. It was also right by a regional port capital so maybe the forts are driffrent in that way as Devs did say some will have more than others. -

I beleive both fire, but we know that the forts will take down a first rate. One of our clan mates lost his fighitng some AI near the shore line. If they are so powerfull to shread a first rate that fast I hate to see what they will do to a smaller ship. -
Oh they pen but you got to be in close. They kill lots of crew too. I kinda like it as it means a lot of us can bring the fight back out to a distance than just a brawl.

PvP2 Port reset - put your thoughts on Diplomacy here.

Those poor poor poor Spaniards....maybe some how we be suprised and find Sat a bunch of them returned or rerolled and give a good fight.... Saw you tonight and forgot to wave as you passed by. I think we where both to busy doing stuff to make it a fight. Trying to find those dang new ships and cap one. This having only Pirate ships around pirate ports starting to suck lol -

I think the system is good, but they just need to adjust how much you produce at a time. We did pretty much the same thing flipped two regions in a small time and than went to stop a third region from getting agro cause it was one of ours. Pour Spains going to have like a billion battles on PvP2. The joke is going to be when we all find out a bunch of folks came back or rolled spain....lol -
Patch 9.96 - New conquest, New trading, New ships and other things
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in Patch notes
Just a heads up I tested my trio Privateers in the Newbie area and out side of it. If I tagged a trader in the ROE for newbies it doesn't allow my fleets to come into the fight so it's a 1 vs 1, but if I hit one out side it's all three with any one out side the small circle joining too. Kinda like this so it means pretty much all shallow water battles in the newbie ROE are 1 vs 1 for the most part. -

NO I mean the OW be split into three different water so that some ships can't get into some areas. Take the deep waters in the middle of Bahamas. Is that water deep enough for a SOL? Maybe a frigate can get in there but SOL's can't. Remember in the movie Master and Commander they took waters there frigate could pass through to get a head of the French ship. Having more water depth than just shallow and deep would give more options in OW and even in battles. Though I think when land comes into play in Port Battles we are going to see a lot more different ship types. Fighting in a bay with a SOL can be deadly if they break the line as they can't turn or will beach themselves over say frigates.-

When they split the EU server I swtiched from there to PvP2 US cause it was finally getting populated. I was I think Lt Com at the time and had to grind up to new ships and all with the basic cutter. I can be done, but it's time sink, and I did it without a clan to help do it. I can see a lot of folks will be easly grind up to new ships with the help of there clan mates. I recently went onto PvE to test some stuff and sold my Redeemable Bucc to get some cash and only got a Belle to play around with. It was nice to do so. I still try to get back into shallow water ships, but it's kinda annoying every one wants to play in the SOL's or the big frigates all the time. Kinda wish they did with Port Battles limit the area's of the ocean not just Shallows or deep, but do Shallow, normal and than deep water so frigates can get into some areas that SOL"s can't but than light ships can get into the shallows. -

To be honest there is way to many SOL"s in game as is. I know folks sitting on 20-50 1st rates.-

Important october patch information
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
The level for no crew lost should stay the same. Sorry that level is prime time for PvP and such that your are getting into every thing. Not to mention the shallow water PB's and not loosing any crew wouldn't be good learning for them. Though I do think there should be a restriction of you needing the min crew to sail the ship to be able to take it out of port. Say the ship needs 150 crew to sail it. You can not take it out of port until you have that 150 crew of the Connie or what ever ship it is. This will stop the problem we saw a lot of new players putting 40 crew in a Bucc they got as a freebie redeemable. This will also stop folks from using ships for BR (though patch does fix this now). Than again I hate ship telporting after battle, i think if you capture a ship you need to fleet it or sail it out yourself back to a safe port. It will make folks think more about doing that rage board of a ship to capture it if they can't replace there crew and have to sail it out of the mission/battle with what crew they have left and also crew there own ship with it. -

Now if the stupid AI will follow some of these rules. I noticed ever one of the AI ships I have boarded lately has had marines on them and seem to still fire just as fast as if they didn't and wasn't missing 100 crew either. I swear AI tends to hae like 10 mod slots and all gold mods half the time. Hell I'm only doing those missions to test new builds. I been trying to fill out my fleet a little better with a mixture of baording and combat set up. Hell I'm still the only one I know of that has made a boarding Mortar Brig and it's worked out twice in my favor just having that one Green Marine and barricades in the last slot of the 3/5 ship. I'm hoping the new patch makes certain crew mods actually that crew mods. Marines, Boarding Parties and Powder Monkeys should be a rig up option for ships when they leave port. Maybe it's one of the new building we are getting with the patch.

State of the lame
Sir Texas Sir replied to Mrdoomed's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Lets just say there been a few times me or another clan mate has basically just said, "YOLO." and charged in to save the day and actually when the match that we should not have won. Than again this is prob why Pirates get called OP and Hackers cause some times we don't stick to the same method of fighting and some times we just say screw it. We going to sink any way lets try this. It's so stupid they might just get confused and blown away by such actions and yes 9 times out of 10 it's worked out in our favor. Along with what folks said before me it does hurt you when they join your fight and they are on your side. We had a guy jump into a port battle that was in a lower level ship and was in our TS we told to wait until all the 1st rates got inside before any one in frigates joined. He came in with a Trinc and keep out one of our 1st rates. This will be fixed with the new patch by letting those with hostility points in first for the PB"s, but I seen folks do this stuff and than go in and do things like block shots. Go after the wounded ship some one else was all ready taking down (needed them to go after the mortar brigs instead) and just do things to hurt the team. There is no way to boot them from the battle or to punish them other than black ball them from things like ship sales and such. There are some players that are just toxic in the game an seems to want to hurt other players even on there own team for stupid stuff like, "They wouldn't let me join there clan or they won't sale me the special ship that they only have a BP of (and in fact we didn't have the BP we got them from another nation.)" The average Joe casual player is not who they are talking about. I have no problem with a learning player joining the fight, it's when folks go out of there way to hurt the team. (Tag or allow to be tagged to pull in a 1st rate into a big battle that the other team couldn't tag in the first place. Just had some one do this the other day. Than they ran and didn't help the 1st rate.) -

I believe that is the trade goods thing where you can drop off certain goods to raise or lower it. You still will get to hunt down traders and such so I can see solo play there and you don't have to drop a hostility mission to get PvP. You can still just go hunt that area and you get the normal two circle pull instead of the open window. Just hoping this will be on tomorrows maintenance cause I'm ready for this weekend.
