Rework Pirates (nation)
Sir Texas Sir replied to Uilleam's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Please do tell us what this advantage is exactly? Cause as of right now Pirates are exactly like any other nation except for one thing. THEY ARE AT WAR WITH EVERY ONE......which means they have no alliance. This is a disadvantage not an advantage. Other than that they have all the same stuff as nationals have. Even the Nationals have there own special perk of faster reload than the Pirates speed and that isn't really a big deal now as it's the same as the ship class perks, but cost 1 more, but you don't have to reset to use it on more than one type of ship. So once again what are these advantages? Remember we are trying to get the National mechanics worked out first and than the devs will work on Pirate stuff. Until than can you guys give it a rest and just TEST THE DANG GAME like the rest of us? Oh and remember historically most folks we would call pirates where actually Privateers for one nation, it was the other nations that called them Pirates cause of there actions. Many of these Privateers where former Navy for one nation or another. So would run there ships prob much like they did when they had a commission.-

any plans for esl?

English as a Second Language? -
Why is it that if you capture a port there is over a week (I think 9-10 days now) cool down before you can build any hostility so prob like 2 weeks before you could win a port back. Though if you successfully defend a port there is pretty much zero cool down until hostility can be built back up on it. It was like this before the patch and I never understood why one got a cool down but the other didn't? Shouldn't the defenders also get a cool down before they can be attacked again? Not to mention 9-10 days cool downs are going to end up making less and less port battles as we end up with most of the regions on cool down if they get captured.

She would prob be about the size and armament as the Pirate Frigate since know one really knows what she looked like fully or what she had on her. Though I did read they found Swedish 6 lbs in her wreck. I would just be happy if they let us build the Pirate Refit in game. Hell make it exactly that a refit. You capture a Frigate ship that is one dura and than you get to turn her in and get a crafter that is a pirate to create a 1 dura Pirate Frigate. Would be another good way to test the 1 dura ship thing. I really wish we could find more than just common and fine ships of the two currently being tested. The L'Ocean should also be a craftable ship for all players now. Need to get the other nations ships in game too. -
PVP 2 The battle of something for Morgons Bluff
Sir Texas Sir replied to JobaSet's topic in National news
Wish I had the screen shot from that battle where they all left the Santi's, but I wasn't in that one I was in a different group fighting at the same time, which means we had been split up too. The funny thing is I remember the guys in that fight said they where in trouble until they all started to escape cause they where so out number by the US players. -
PVP 2 The battle of something for Morgons Bluff
Sir Texas Sir replied to JobaSet's topic in National news
Last I checked those where SOL port battles, so is it our fault ya'll didn't show up with the ships to do the port battles just cause you know that there are little to now Spanish players on this server. I mean one guy showed up. Yes we weren't going to be in that port battle, but we wanted PvP so we brought ships that match the port battle you would be fighting if you where fighting another nation that could fight back. DEVS HAVE STATED MANY TIMES IT'S A PIRATE REPUBLIC.....so well until we have pirate mechanics than why shouldn't we fight the same way Nations are allowed to? We are testing the same game mechanics you are. In fact we are at a disadvantage cause we are at WAR WITH EVERY ONE. We don't have the option of the two largest nations banning together like the US and BRITS have. Even than we still took Brit down to one port. How exactly do the two largest nations that have the largest population let one of them get taken down to one port? Hell it wasn't even all the pirates it was mostly one clan with 15-20 active players on most nights filled in with a few other Pirates that they had to fight. Did ya'll notice what happen a few weeks before the patch was suppose to be here and we stopped fighting? Yep folks where able to take ports back. Blink out of OW? Can you please explain what port battle this was cause this topic was about Morgans Bluff and the only time I blink any where was into the fight after the port battle was over. Hay sorry we know the mechanic better than others cause we play all the time. Maybe if ya'll stop hiding and play some you will learn them too. Though still not sure what this blinking out and back in was about unless your talking about some other battle. Sounds like maybe a OW battle and than some time later we got out of battle and tagged some more players? Though that wasn't yesterday at Morgan Bluff. Pretty much after that fight I sunk so I just moved on to other things that night since the fleet out side was way to big to mess with with all there AI's with them. Talking about hypocrisy aren't you doing exactly the same thing your accusing us of doing? You did bring 29+ ships into an OW battle. I could of swore the fights are suppose to be 25 vs 25? So how exactly did 29+ ships get into that battle? -

While this is exactly right now and it's pretty about 10-20 higher than my normal ping on either server it shows what some one maybe say in Texas gets. Not every one has fiber either. Hell I been on PvP1 and PvE lately playing around with AI and got ping as high as 300-400 in just fleets. Lag spikes like that will kill you in a good fight. I'm sorry you guys that say it doesn't bother you I'm starting to think don't do much big port battles or PvP if you think spikes that high don't effect your game play. We have Aussie in our clan that lets us know how bad it can be and I wonder how some of them would even play on EU server. I'll be honest I wouldn't mind the merger if they picked a server that is more fitted for players all around the world. The other thing is they keep saying they will give PvP2 players free transfers to PvP1, but you never hear them say they will allow folks that left PvP2 to go to PvP1 the last time they spoke of Mergers to come back. Allow one time transfers to either servers. I'll be honest back when EA came out I picked the EU servers simply cause it had a population. When they wanted every one to leave or they split for the Mirror cause of the wait to log in I switched to PvP2 and started all new with nothing. I been there since. So yes some folks pick the server either cause it's the first one or cause it's the most populated server. I use to pick a lot of Aussie servers in games cause I worked night shifts and it was the best time for me to play (POTBS was a good example). Per picture posted above that is a central player with fairly decent internet and the pings shown are about 10-20 from what I normally see in game on either server. To be honest I never understood why the PvP2 server was on the east coast in the first place. It should of been on the West coast to give Aussie and Asia players better ping and still give US players decent ping. To be honest if any server needs to go and a waste of resources it's the PvE server, but hay that is another story and we have to make the PvEr's happy and all. Not that PvP2 hasn't pretty much started to become nothing but that. -
What are...?
Sir Texas Sir replied to Lord Heyford's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Basically what Anolytic posted, so it's when a player has more than one copy of the game so they have more than one chars. This reminds me of another game I played we actually had a sticky of terms for folks to ask and learn. -
Morgan Bluff is one of 4 regions that are suppose to be in the Newbie zone, than tell me just how there was a 29+ vs 10 battle out side the port? It seem to work ok over in Little Harbor area cause I was only able to pull in one ship when I tagged some one out side of it. Though I think two smaller guys joined which isn't a problem cause I was the attacker in that case. Also there is a none bug with fleets. If I attack you with a fleet the fleets can not get into the NEWBIE ROE battle, but my BR will be the same as if I had them allowing your ships to enter until you match BR. This is a none bug that folks have reported on. I haven't tested that one out yet, but than again I tend to not bring fleets with me even in the Bahama's but it's looking it's the only way to sail in that area with your US players doing nothing but fleeting. Let me remind you again what it looked like out side of Morgan. I keep saying 29+ cause you can't count all the ships and we know the towers sunk I think 2 players/AI's in your group. http://imgur.com/AHek3R7 To allow 29+ in a zone that is suppose to be Noob ROE than it's a broken system.

PVP 2 The battle of something for Morgons Bluff
Sir Texas Sir replied to JobaSet's topic in National news
We had over 20 players, but US had filled that port battle with 25 players even though we had many guys in battle out side so US had over 25 folks. In fact when we got the two Santis there was 16 players in that battle against our 5-10. But every one left leaving the two first rates to be captured by us. We caught 17 first rates that first week between the US port battle and the Brits first battles taking Spain ports. We got 2 Santis at the Brit port battle. So we where doing what your suppose to do on a PvP server...>PVP<. If ya'll stop running every time we have the 1st rates out than maybe you will win some, cause every time ya'll have had us out number. Now the problem with shallow water is that is suppose to be a newbie zone and they have over 29 players/AI on there side in the fight out side. Why was all those AI's allowed in and why was the region not listed as Newbie ROE? Today at Little Island it did list the area as Newbie and I was able to drag a few of them into the fight out side, but not all them that wasn't in the port battle. Though great fight, if we had maybe 5 more players it prob would of turned out differently, but as it's a proof Pirates do not have the numbers US and even British does, it's just one clan BLACK brings out numbers of strong players when we fight. With the help of ZILCH and COMM, but we don't fight in shallow waters much so you don't see us there and it leaves the little clans hurting. I'm one of the few members of my clan that will play in shallow waters cause I like playing different ships. -
NO they can't....long long long time ago they where able to, but that is way in the past. For a while until they got it coded you couldn't even enter a Port battle if you had a fleet on you. kinda wish they go back to that cause of certain folks in one nation doing nothing but having fleets in shallow waters. That hurts the little guys that can't bring there own fleets when that zone is suppose to be Newbie and some reason the ROE for them is broken at the moment.

PVP 2 The battle of something for Morgons Bluff
Sir Texas Sir replied to JobaSet's topic in National news
lt's all ways been this way. We stopped PB cause folks will drop flags and get tagged or run away and our guys would enter and leave ended the port battle. -
The problem is getting that happy middle. You make it drop to much or to little it helps the big nations or little nations but it hurts them too. To be honest I think it shouldn't be a set time. There is 24 hours in a day and it should be worked so that it looses 1% per hour, but we should be able to create more than that and keep it unless your just one solo player doing the agro. I think one of the issues is on PvP2 the lower population. To be hones the only ports getting flipped right now more than say 20-40% mark in one day are prots folks go out and GRIND FLEETS. A lot of the hard core PvP players don't want to grind fleets even though that is where you find other players. They really need to have a red light around the port the missions is close to know where the hostility is. We spent a good time just trying to hunt for these guys doing missions in other zones. Not even our own nations regions just so we can get PvP. Any one know exactly how much war supplies adds or lowers on the agro yet?

I'm with HOBO on the fact you need to take into account more than one thing. There are times you need to take the little guys out fast (you have SOL's they can stern camp) than other times it's best to just ignore them and sink the big boys. To many people pop there sail repairs to fast when they are in brawling fights. You can still manage that ship in a lot of cases with damage. Than if you sink that other big ship and pop your sail repair those little ships no longer have there big guns helping them and have to run. That and I like to put a broad side of chain into small ships in a chase cause it tends to drop there sails fast and take them out of the fight. A good broad side does this to the crew too when your using way bigger guns against them. It's like we love the fact when some one brings a bunch of AI. While the AI will be hitting our sails as we sink the players. They are also running into every one and getting into the way and some times even shooting ships on there own team trying to hit other ships. AI fleets aren't all ways the best thing to have.

When and how will one server happen?
Sir Texas Sir replied to Mrdoomed's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
The entire server is not in the Bahamas, maybe the US is cause we keep catering first rates they won't stay on the Florida cost. I think it's like 17 US/Brit first rates we have captured since the patch came out. That and ROE in rookie zone is so broken right now. Just had a 29+ vs 10 counting every one AI's battle out side Morgan Bluff cause they didn't show up in time with there fleet to get into the Port Battle. So we excited it and it was over. Part of game Mechanics that has a been around back in the flag drop days. Expect a big complain from Oldcranky man cause he even accused us of using US alts to stop the Port Battle. You don't need to use any alts if no one shows up after the first start timer runs out. If no one shows and is ready and you exit the battle is over. End of story. If this is the ROOKIE ZONE with the special ROE than something is broken. This wasn't a port battle this was out side the port. http://imgur.com/AHek3R7 -
Rookie regions - new player experience
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
I"m just wondering if the NEWBIE ROE broken cause Morgan Bluff is one of the three newbie zones and this is what we got in a battle just out side the port. We won the port battle cause they never entered in time as we had guys in there when the time ran out for the start and they exited to give us a win, but they push there late fleet of about 15 players into the port bay. We figured hay a nice 5 vs 15 fight with towers on our side. It turned into more of a 29+ (there was more ships that aren't shown) vs our 11, but we sent our AI packing cause it was going to be a cluster #UCK from hell. Which it was and the towers did a lot of damage, but since they had three mortar brigs they where brought down pretty fast. The before pic. http://imgur.com/AHek3R7 The after pic. http://imgur.com/da9NluO Oh be warned oldcranky is going to be on here bitching about how we won the PB. He was all ready accusing us of using alts to win the empty port battle. Which you don't need alts to win a defense if no one enters the port battle. I'm going to be on Sunday we are going to see a bunch of logged out US players in front of the port to pop in real fast. -
It's for Spain Pirvateers ships so they can hunt others better. They said they tweeked the French and British Refits, any one know what they changed on those stats?

Boarding with patch 9.96 broken?
Sir Texas Sir replied to Gysendorf's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
I noticed the brace thing too. It seem they have more firepower than my crew even though I have twice the marines and twice the muskets. I do an Attack/Musket action and only do it on brace or defend. Though it seems they have all gold mods no matter what. I have had a brace almost kill more guys than my attack or muskets did and you think I did an attack on a defend or something. Oh and attacking on a Grenade throw has all ways been a very bad thing. I was looking at your friends screen shot and one thing I'll tell him is he did have a disadvantage in FIREPOWER cause he only had two gun decks compared to the other ships 3+. If I can ever get a good roll on a 5 ship or will just take the boarding buck out I'm wondering on two deck ships if ladders are going to be more handy for this firepower difference I been seeing. Cause I been seeing a lot of equal kills or more when you attack on a brace at first when closer to same number crew, but it seems to drop when they have less crew than you. -
Asset wipe needed now.
Sir Texas Sir replied to Jack Jones's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
To be honest I was more expecting one around the time we go from Alpha to Beta and than maybe a soft one when we go live. -
Yah it makes a quick reference instead of having to look all over the map for what region does what. Well considering it's call Spanish Hunter a Spaniard Privateer that hunts (the way I take it) you think it would be in Spanish waters. Just like the French, British and Pirate Refits are all in there respective nations zone at start. I think your reading the name wrong. It's not a perk for those that hunt Spanish players, it's for a Spanish player that is a Hunter. Maybe it should of been called Spanish Privateer Refit?

Rookie regions - new player experience
Sir Texas Sir replied to admin's topic in News Announcements & Important discussions
Yah I was noticning it wouldn't allow my fleets to come into the battle, but didn't get a chance to test if it counted them too. Thanks for this test, would of almost got me in trouble with a big fleet of US players last night than. I was thinking of tempting them to attck to pull them into a 1 vs 1 but since I had another rattler with me it would of been a 2 vs 1 than. Though they all had fleets with them so if I had a group of none fleeted players with me we could of screwed them over big time. I'll have to keep this in mind tonight if they try to hit Morgan area again. Now for the other thing. Can we capture newbie areas? Are they perm Pirate zones? Cause last night the US got Morgan region (can't remember the region name) to 100% before server maintenance down time (a few hours before), but it never flipped for a port battle and than when servers came back it was down to the 70%. Though the devs said the zones can be captured but only the Newbie starter ports never change.
