  1. Attaching the officer to a ship will also get folks to stop just surrendering there crappy ships cause they won't loose a life. Well can't do that and keep a good trained officer now can you?
  2. Why don't we wait for release and be surprised by the UI they put i the game that they are saving for than?
  3. Instead I think each ship should have an officer for that ship and perks. That way it shows the more experience you get with that ship, Officer and crew the more better they are. It would mean you don't have to switch out your perks every time you change ships. You don't have to buy an officer but than you don't get the progression on that ship of a good officer and crew. Than just move the crafting officer to one port that you make your home port and you get his skills in that port. The longer he crafts or run things in that port the better he gets at managing you shore affairs and such.
  4. I will have to agree with you guys, that purple needs to be changed. Just use blue and green for the two type of woods if you don't want to use gold. Don't even know why wood needs it own color anyway just make all wood gold no matter the level of ship quality.
  5. I'm going to bet they turned off that feature cause you can normally break them down the get the BP.
  6. I haven't had this happen to me yet, but I'll ask them to let me know next time. So that we can double check.
  7. Sadly this is been how PvP2 been. You show up and they run and hide. Even more now they are just surrendering as they are using basic ships to grind lower level missions cause they give the same for kill no matter the ship unless it's SOL. The other thing is they have the numbers so they just ignore the fleets we hit and they go hit other fleets while we are in the one grinding that it's a never ending battle of never gaining points. Seem's right now the only ones gaining agro are the two big nations on our server. Hell poor french took a week to get one uncontested region flipped for a port battle.
  8. Ok I thought I saw some one posting this, but am I correct if you surrender it doesn't cause any hostility points for that region for the attacking team? Clan mate has said he keeps getting guys with basic ships just surrendering any time he attacks some one. Than he checks and he's gained no agro points and there was none put on that region. If this is starting to become a norm devs need to make Surrendering a penality to the hostility of your nation. Give it the same points as if they where sunk but they just keep there ships. I know the problem could be where it's abused, but it's being abused by folks just surrendering to keep from getting sunk or put points on that region.
  9. While I started on the PvP1 server and moved to the PvP2 but that is pretty much how I played up until I made master and Com. Had a blast just doing my own solo thing. Nothing wrong with that.
  10. That was right in front of Morgan Bluff. I noticed when we where sitting out side it didn't list Rookie ROE on the screen. Las Des is the same way. I'm actually tempted to take a copy of the Newbie area and drop pins on it of where the ROE drops off and comes back on. I notice any of the none shallow water even though it's in a region seems to not be Rookie ROE. I'll get me a working copy of the newbie area and when i'm in there I"ll drop some markers of where the flag drops off. The dead zones and some spots that I don't think should be free of Rookie ROE need to be looked at. It did work in front of Little Harbor as I only pulled in one other player before that port battle started while screening. NOw that battle above if they didn't have mortar brigs it would of been even more interesting cause the first thing those guys did was kill the port forts so they would stop tearing up the ships. I almost fell out of my chair when the guy beside me was demasted by the fort. That was pretty fun but crazy fight and it was my first dura lost on my Heavy Rattler (which I had to get a Dan to make).
  11. Before ya'll went EA didn't ya'll like have wipes every few weeks? Hell I would be more than willing to turn PvP2 into the test server. Hell I like to break things any way it's why I have joined so many Alpha's and Beta testing.
  12. I agree and keep telling folks that the patch hasn't even been out but what like a week? I mean give it time folks and let things just work it out. One week is hardly any time to play things out. I have since the Patch built 2 Bellona's, Rennon, Rattler, Bell Poule, LVG and Mercury with a good dozen or two trade ships So it's not that you can't get these items, you just need to look for them and do a little trading and willing and dealing. Not exactly true PvE went down a while back and they gave them all LVG's. Like the only ship I have over there other than a basic cutter until I sold my Buc and bought something bigger just for testing cause I wasn't level to crew it at the time. I don't expect extra goodies when the servers go down but something like labor contract to make up for lost game time would of been cool. Though the tournaments and giving out ships only on one server except a few events we tested isn't exactly being fair to all servers. To bad there is no one on PvP2 that could of gotten it or even the chance other than luck when the BP was accidently released. I'm just lucky I have some clan mates with the Aug and L'Ocean. Though only one person in nation has the HEavy rattlers, but other two large pop nations have several folks with it. Yah real fair there when it's pretty much the only ship being used in shallow water. For a noob it's certain death if you run across an experienced player in one.
  13. The math would make it sound like he didn't get the regional bonus. Did he actually build it in the region and it says Strong Hull Bonus on his ship card? If his was built before the patch than it wouldn't have the regional bonus. This why screen shots would really help. Tell him to F11 that and let the Devs take a look at it. You HP: 12000 + 10% for exceptional + %5 regional + 10% for Live Oak for a total of 25% = 15,000 His HP: 12000 + 10% for exceptional + %5 regional + 7.5 for Mahogany and + 5% for Build strength for a total of 27.5% = 15300
  14. This is bad so I spend a good time trying to stop a hostility and I pop my ship in port and than a few days later when the port battle starts and I'm all ready to fight I can't leave the port cause it's at 100%? Than I have to take another ship from some where else to get to the battle? And why does attacked and captured ports have such long cool down, but a well defended port battle has ZERO cool down until hostility can be built back on it? A successfully defended port should have the exact same cool down as captured ports.
  15. I like most of the things ya'll done and I think the rare woods are good and they should take time to get. I just hate I keep getting compwood all the time and not the fine version of those wood types. I think an easy fix is either have a building to trade in so many wood to get fine out of them or to drop the one or another percentage and make it a perm percentage for the fine with random chance to get Compwood on top of what you get fine wood wise.
  16. PvP2 is a prime example of this problem cause before the patch the US and Brits where in an alliance and pretty much it was every Nation except the Danes against the Pirates, but if we didn't fight than they got no PvP. With the two power house in an alliance many nationals got board and joined the Pirate side so they could get PvP (that and think it was kinda to join the winning side.) To be honest I don't think the two biggest nations should be able to stay in an alliance. Hell no nation should be able to stay in it for a long stretch cause than it gets stale and boring for folks. There is pretty much zero PvP for the most part other than every one against the pirates and Danes during there prime time, but that is mainly them and the Dutch/Swede/Frech fighting with once in the blue moon Brits. To be honest those two power houses should be at war with each other not all buddy buddy. I don't see a problem when it's one big nations and some smaller nations teaming up, but when it's the two lagest than there tends to be less and less folks to fight as they can't attack each other. Like you said look at your alliance and maybe next time switch it up some and go to war with them.
  17. This is pretty much how I play test for them expecting one any day so as to test things out. I'm really suprised they haven't done more and that is the problem they haven't done one since going EA and that is why we are going to have some big cry babies when they do. It would only be fair when it goes live we all pretty much start on the same playing field. Though I'm pretty sure us testers will get a little this or that for our time.
  18. Would help with screens and exactly what ships are you comparing them too and where built. I know there has been some ship tweeks and well some ships don't have the same stats as they use to. Though good question if there is a stat change do all ships of that type get it or just the current ones built cause we notice a few ships have lower stats than other older built ships when compared to each other.
  19. And what about the Heavy Rattler. So that is no and it's still only going to be a few or only certain nations that have the majority of the BP's. Well at least that is how it is on the PvP2 server. Yah they should never be top tier ships. When you have a port battle and one side is using them almost with every player and the other side isn't cause either no one in that nation has the BP or only one or two folks than there is a balance issue. You mean the ones that are only on PvP1? When was the last time something has been done for the other two servers? You know the PvP2 server and the PvE? Maybe that is why they are dead cause there is no support. Hell I went almost 9 months before I ever saw a dev or Mod speak in chat.
  20. Clan mate just built a ship and got a 2/5 exceptional. Guess this didn't get into the hotpatch?
  21. Yah you can turn in only so much at a time, but if you timed it right and had a port close you can do a lot with just the goods. I'll have to say a time restriction is needed to give the other nation time to counter it. Just a one big drop and boom 100% is not good. Right now it's so hard to grind the fleets and get PvP cause no one shows up and runs or they do other things to counter it instead of PvP. Like they pick missions in other areas. The map should show what port the missions are being done near to give you a clue where to go hunting. Some regions are very big so it's a lot of grounds to cover to find fleets doing missions. Even worse when you can just roll up with several ships and just flip a port by dropping off goods that can't be countered.
  22. I can't believe I"m agreeing on this topic but hay I'll have to say when you have battles in OW newbie zones (apparently that port which is a newbie region isn't newbie zone) you get battles like this. http://imgur.com/AHek3R7 That was our battle out side Morgan's Bluff last week. You can only see 29+ on the US side but there was more than that in the fight as some of there ships got sunk by the cannons. It's so bad in the Bahama's with fleets that a lot of folks don't even play in them any more cause your sure to get ganked by players that all have 2 AI ships each. I been going around in there and some of the area's shown that should be part of the Newbie regions aren't newbie regions so you can catch folks in these blind spots and abuse the system. It's one thing to run a few escorts with traders and such, but when you always have AI with you it's annoying. Oh and the Brits have lately brought ships with there SOL fleets and as soon as we show up to catch them coming out of there fleet missions they switch ships and sent there Rates home and come out in smaller ships they where under crewing. I'm sorry they need to stop the teleport ship thing after battles. You should have to sail your ship or prizes back to port before you can send them any where.
  23. Should all ways have a way to get certain things in game too. Like they talked about the PvP credit thing.
  24. To me the Letter of Marque should be a pirate thing. If you have one for a nation you can be a Privateer for that nation and a pirate for all other nations even if that nation has an alliance with the nation you have a letter for. Your letter is for only the country that it's origin is at war with. If you don't have one than your a Pirate/outlaw for all nations any way. Now for nations could get a Letter of Marque to but it's only to fight the other nations Enemy if they don't match the same nations your at war with. This will cut out some of these super power alliance that not just every one can jump into another nations port battle just cause they have an alliance with them. Though I would just prefer they keep it to a pirate thing.
  25. Just maybe you will even come over to the big boy pool and play some PvP? I been playing around on PvP1 testing the ping and such. I had a Basic cutter as a Curse and within 4 hours I had a Trader brig, LVG, Trinc and about 1.5 million in the bank. It won't be that hard if you know what your doing. Now getting the crafting stuff back is going to be the pain in the butt, but hay I'll just see it as part of the testing stage we need to do. Add in a clan and you will grind up that money and supplies even faster as a group.
