  1. That going to suck for pirates since the Russians (I believe former pirates) took Kidds. Hmm. So basically any of the refugee's from the other server will have to start from scratch clan based and fight over scraps of the EU clans that are all ready established and got a foot hold of the server. You might want to rethink this as it would be a good time to do a reset of the map and retest battle/port mechanics again.
  2. I assume he has two accounts like some of us. I'm thinking they should allow some way to do a name/nation change for those folks that are merging over. Since the wipe I haven't played much on EU server but I still have chars in nations that don't make what I have on GLOBAL (which I play pretty much all pirates). Sir Texas Sir is in GB and I have no plan to play GB on EU so I would want to change that nation to what ever nation my clan ends up going to when this happens.
  3. I'm honestly thinking of going the Prussian route myself instead of pirate (I'll keep my one pirate pirates though). Will have to see what the clan wants to do, but it's for sure not be US or GB. I have played Every nation on this game except Dutch and Swedes so maybe it's time I try one of them out too. @admin my only big concern is will there be a port wipe cause having a large number of players come in with established controled ports and clans is going to be a big mess as folks grab ports off others and such. I mean it might be fun and it might drive folks away. Might be better to do a map reset of the ports owner and let folks retake them as new clans and nations fill things out in the new server. Cause lets stop calling them EU and GLOBAL. There will be one server and only one the "Caribbean" (well except them silly PvE guys).
  4. What I think is funny is they say that they have all the EU backing them, but I see more and more EU players wanting it and it's just the same two or three guys that complain over and over cause they aren't getting there way any more. Times changes, the game changes, move on if it's not your game any more. Maybe it will be what you want when it's release, maybe it will be something totally different.
  5. You been doing a lot of name calling in this thread, honestly doesn't help you case and prob why other clans won't work with you during those time zones. Hell I experienced it on EU when many of us where going to come over and help flight the US/GB players.
  6. and I heard the same crap from you with zero solution over and over. You do know that prob about 99% of the numbers on EU server don't give a crap about RvR all they want is OW numbers in a game they want to play. You keep saying it was tried, actually it wasn't . It was tried on a very broken system that is nothing like what we have now. This is ALPHA TESTING OF A GAME. We need to change things and try them. Apparently with the number drops on EU your port timers wasn't working either. Ya'll been loosing more players than GLOBAL has over all for a very long time. So that means something wasn't working on BOTH servers. So time to make changes and try new things out. Hell it might work it might not, but this isn't final release so the Devs can do what ever they want. Remember over 50% of the sales of this game is US based, so they should not be catering to a small majority of the EU pop that just want to have it there way, they should be balancing a game for a global all around the world player base. When the game gets released maybe they will have an EU server with the locked port times again and you can return when that happens, until than why don't you try to suck it up and try something new out. I'm mean every thing is going to get wiped upon release any way other than our XP so why does it matter what we do until than?
  7. Than don't treat it as a full time job. Your clan keeps to the ports it can hold and that is it. Let the other folks fight it out. You set those ports to times when your on and you defend it than. End of story. If you need others to fill slots on other days than get friends. You can have up to 15 clans after all on your friends list. Use them. Hell we have just about all our slots full on GLOBAL with other pirates just to let small clans join and help.
  8. I'm hoping redeemable with the xp and such so you can reroll them. I have done nothing with my EU chars other than Redeem some of there XP and some of the names I want to change or keep cause I liked them better than my GLOBAL names and well others I don't want to use either. So hopefully redeemables so we can re-roll and name them as we want into what nations we want. Sir Texas Sir on EU I think is in GB and I have no plans to keep him in that nation after this merger. Only did that just to chat with folks when I pop in there since I used my Pirate over there since wipe.
  9. I tell them that all the time, not to mention if you couldn't defend a port set in your clan prime time it wouldn't matter if there was timers or not your going to loose that port any way. What they don't like is that a mulit national CLAN/'s can take a port from them and than set it in another time zone they can't bring the same numbers and take it back. Well than maybe they should stop pissing off US/SEA players and get some friends. I for one will not be playing US or GB. I'm sure there will be others that will be more than welcome to join a nation that isn't the big high pop nations.
  10. Or they can fight other EU clans, maybe if they didnt' all join one nation....wait we have 11 nations so with odds there will be a good number of clans in most nations. Just don't be a dick and run those none clans of your region out of the nation. Let them do there own thing and you do your. It's pretty simple. We don't have to own every thing in every time zones after all. Than fight the EU clans in your time zones. I know we have fought US and Aus clans in GLOBAL so it won't change much other than now we will prob have mid day battles on weekends with the EU guys too maybe. Or maybe we will merge some clans to cover all three time zones? Can we do it so we can reroll the chars to a new nation and change names for free and than redeem every thing? I have some chars in nations I won't be playing on EU and some of the names I won't want to use, but other names I will want to keep simply cause I want to maybe do some solo pirate play for a while not attached to my main name and clan. One server while in ALPHA testing is better all around. Every game I been on does this and when they release they open up there regional servers and than tweek how many they need after the full numbers show. Though my only issue have ya'll thought about putting the server in a better location for the majority of the player base to get a decent ping. Keep the same data just move the server location is all. Going to be interesting as some clans have names on both servers. BLACK is no both and unless we merge or do some alt name we can't have two BLACK on one server. So would be nice to refund every thing in that manor. Yah not so sure I like the instant battle thing with no way to counter hostility missions. It would be like the old flag problem of sitting around for two hours waiting to be attacked and not getting anything done. It also needs to be a 4 hour window as that would cover many time zones. US has 3-4 times zones, AUS does to, and EU has how many? A bigger window will cover more players in a clan that isn't just one region area.
  11. Remember it's only when your tagged, it doesn't work if they join a fight your in or a mission.
  12. And I also said they don't belong in the open world sand box game, you want to duel meet at high noon some where in OW. While a training room would be nice to set up, this is not WoT or other games like that, that would be more for something like NA:L if it got a clan war based set up. Instead do what most us do when we want to train or test something. Find a low level AI trade ship and just let it escape.
  13. This should be seen more in game as to why light/small ships can seem faster from the go. They should have a shorter time to set sails and get up to speed (better acceleration). While bigger ships might have a higher top speed they take for ever to set sails and get to that top speed. This could mean the small ship has a chance to get away from the bigger much faster ship if it can get a good head start but in the long run that bigger ship with more sails and higher top speed will eventually run you down. Also why we need things like shallows in battle so the little ships can use that against the bigger ships. Any one notice it in a few battles that some of the shore lings act as shallows? Funny how mos of the folks I know that don't have a clue how to manual sail aren't the new players, it's old timers that don't learn. Most of the new players ask and we send them off to some great videos though out dated. Speaking of which would be nice if some great person did a few updated videos cause some of them are from over a year ago. Even with the Tutorial it's going to be the players that gives most of these resources to new players. Though a tutorial mission when you get into a 2 mast ship might be nice to learn the basics that you really can't learn in a basic cutter from start. What pratise makes you get better? Get out of here there is no way that works....lol I'll admit I'm an ok sailor when it comes to Manual Sailing, but I'm not no expert and my stubby mechanic fingers don't always want to hit the keys I need to when I want too...not every one is going to be the expert and that is good. Gives me a chance in fights....lol It's more the old timers that are set in there ways I think we will have more problems with than new players that are coming in with better mechanics to learn from. We just need to be helpful with them and get out there and teach them.
  14. unless your the same nation and can't tag each other. Sadly was a fun feature of being a pirate we could test and duel each other without chasing down some AI trader. Trade ships run from you, but than you have to find one. Not that I'm a fan of duel rooms as they need to be left in NAL type games, but this pretty much what we have to do. Pirates did have a nice feature at one time we used to test stuff out side of mort instead of hunting for traders, but some folks abused that and got it removed again. Which still didn't fix the other problem of tagging your buddy with a smuggler flag and forcing us to only be able to join the bad tag side of a fight. That was abused more than the Pirates FFA fights was by what I seen and still being abused. Though a training room could be nice to test new things out, but than we become more like NAL than a open world sandbox. List me an open world sandbox game that also has dueling rooms? Though honestly if you want to duel meet each other a high noon at the selected mutual location.
  15. Yah that was the little rumor i heard through watching the russian side of things. Though why can't we have old paints until than. Give us PvP guys something to trade with the PvE guys maybe. Since it's all going to be wipe again any way? I just want my pink ships back....dangit. Got a feeling I'm going to be spending most this weekend getting back to basics with some of these ships I use and changes to there sail profile.
  16. I don't know why, but this gave me a good chuckle @admin, thanks. Though off topic would love to know why we don't have paints any more. Even if we are switching to a new system maybe in the future (heard it might be like ship knowledge) it would be nice if we had at least old paints in game cause some of these ships all look a like and it's a bit boring. Put them in the epic events chest and ship wreck event (do we still even have these) or PvP shop and i beat you will make a lot of players happy. Back on topic though I was looking at those stats and the Connie has the worse turn rate or the 4th rates? The Wasa still looks like it has better stats than most of the other 4th rates. A common easy to get ship should not be the best of it's class. The Hermione was done right as per why you hear no one complain about here. She's not really great at any thing when compared to most of the other ships in her class. There is things that go faster, turn faster, more crew and more guns all around her, but she's a good cheap average stat ship for some one in that rank class to use to grind and level up in.
  17. You save the doc in your own folder and than you can edit and sort it as you please.
  18. Most new players will be in one masted ship until they get more experience and most folks at that level don't even know about manual sailing so not sure how that will run them away. As for others many folks been playing this game for a while and still can't get out of irons or manual sail so not really thinking we will see much difference in that department.
  19. Ok well it's all part of RP, than you understand why I keep calling US a bunch of British Loyalist. You might as well be colonist of that nation if your going to buddy buddy up with them. To me having another nation (or big clans) what to do is even more evil than a buch of rogues and thieves. I mean if Pirates where zerging the server like a Mongal Horbe than I would understand the mind set of nations joining together to stop the evil threat, but did you know since pre-wipe we made sure we where attacked first before attacking. I'll use US as an example. US attacked Islma for the first Official Player vs Player port battle after wipe. That is strike one. No attack back from the pirates all we did was defended and went back to making our little buffer around Mort. Sever days later (maybe a week or two) we get an unsuccessful attack on Nassau (we crushed the grinding fleet). Nothing big as I expected Nassua to be a PvP/RvR hot zone. Than Lionshaft pulls his great trick of getting the new guys (Appalo streamer group) to attack West End saying that it was agreed upon with the pirates (it never was). We show up and defend that, crushing all the players that showed up for it. Well that is Strike two so what we do? We hit Savanna right in the heart of US territory, if they want to keep attacking us we will put a black dot next to there capital. We did exactly that. Defended it and no other aggression against ports. We wait until two more ports are attacked and successfully defended....since folks where care bearing it up at Bermuda we picked our next target (this was more cause of the failed tripple flip that was attemped I think @Christendom said something like, "We where suppose to flip three ports, but lost two instead." Cause I think that was the results of why we took SLM in response to that attack. It's not like we took any key econ ports. We picked Savanna cause it left your coal port still open to you and that was when there was very few coal ports. Many guys wanted to take all your 1st rate ports and we said no, it's not good for the game to zerg and do that to nations. Remember now we only defended and only attacked after being attacked twice each time from US. So in theory US is the big bad nastie guy cause they threw the first stone and attacked us. So why aren't they more evil than pirates? We only acted on defense. The problem is ya'll make up this fictional bad guy to keep from doing what you really should be doing. Attacking other nations. Hell look at the leader board right now, every notice GB all ways tends to be on top with a bunch of ports. Ever notice they take up most of the gulf and push around US? I would be more worry about them than pirates. Yes pirates and US should be fighting over the Bahamas as that is boarders between the two, but US and GB and other nations should be fighting each other too. Every time we have multi nations fighting each other our serve pop actually goes up cause it gives folks something to do. Every time we have the majority of the server fighting one faction our server pop goes down. The two biggest nations should not be in allaince with each othe, they should be fighting each other. They can take in a small nation and protect them, but they should be doing super big allaince of 70% of the server population not fighting any one. Pirates tend to fight every one, which we should, we should be the thorn in every one side, not just one nation. The guys that you got to keep an eye on cause you never know when they will be hiding behind that island or around the corner, but we shouldn't be the only goal of a nation to fight. Back on topic though, yes we should be defending our majority of the players even if they are PvE/Carebears and what not. If you don't help each other out than folks stop playing and the game gets very boring.
  20. I think I know who's Santi he's talking about. I guess ya'll still haven't caught Privateers Santi? Which I do believe he captured off Powerdown if I remember right. I watched the other night a L'Ocean which use to suck at any thing up wind run down a mortar brig going close haul. Maybe did the sail data changed that much on SOL's or something? L'Ocean use to blow balls at any thing up wind. Though what I think there should be is a cap based off each ships base speed. Say the ship is a 10.97 kn ship (Santi stats on wiki at a glance). 20% cap for any ship would mean the fastest you would ever get that Santi to is 13.16. Play with the percentage not a base cap for all ships like the 15.5 Though that could be game cap that now ship can be faster than. This way the Renommee with 13.69 would have the top speed of 16.42 if you max out the 20%, but that means it's over the cap so it won't go fast. Connie/Wasa with there 12.30 would have a cap of 14.76...still fast, but it won't hit the game cap that way. This will let the ships meant to be speed ships be actual speed ships. The Renomme can use that 16.42 speed to make it's other sail profile speeds higher or it could go with a stronger build of a ship than a fir fir and still meet cap. Though other ships might be made fir fir, but if the base speed is to low they will never hit the cap. Fir Fir ships will take up 10% of that cap, This way they only have 10% they can use for mods. Unless they go with a stronger wood type and stack mods to get the % but nothing can go above 20%. This percentage can easly be raised or lower by the devs as they balance the ships, but since it's based off the ships base speed it means that some ships will never no matter what hit game cap.
  21. As long as you have unlocked the slot on the ship you can use one of the ship knowledge you have learned in that slot. The more slots you unlock the more you get to pick and set on the ship. This also lets you change your ship a bit. You can set up your ship for AI fleet grinding with certain ship knowledge and than change them around for OW PvP or Port battles. Like when I bring a ship to a zone we are doing port battles. I might set it up for speed and travel to get to our staging port. Than I might add planking and other things for the port battle since it's a slower build. I just need to enter a friendly port to change those slots out to new skills that I have learned. And like Farrago said some Elite Mods takes those books to craft the perm mods. I out of habit all ways learn the skill at lease once and than keep those books to make the elite mods for important ship builds (like PvP or port battle ships). Those books also tend to fetch a pretty good price on the market. Some books also like the 5 Rings and Gunnery encyclopedia take mulit books that can be learned on there own, to combine and make like a mega ship knowledge of multi stats.
  22. Poll content doesn't work for the most part cause we are less than 10% of the player base on the furoms. If you want real numbers and real results you need to poll the actually player base not us guys that Forum Warrior on here.
  23. They are leaving for other reason or have all ready left. And as you so said it works for a majority of the players why keep changing the rules for a minority? This is why I have stated a lot of times if Devs really want to know how the current player base things of things they need to do an IN GAME SURVEY not a poll on a forum where not even 10% of the players are on.
  24. How many ships do folks really loose per day? Most folks don't rush right back out into a fight after loosing a ship unless it's in there home waters or a forward base that they set up multi ships. In which cause be better prepared and set up to loose ships and replace them. YOu shouldn't be able to loose a ship and than instantly be right back out there with a full fitted up combat ready ship in a split second if your doing forward operations and didn't have the extra supplies set up there.
  25. He did a trade run, so what he expect teleport his goods to a port on the other side of the map, which he couldn't do so he's going to take time to sale. Some folks actually enjoy that part of the game. Remember we aren't the only ones that play this game. I use to enjoy it when there was things to explore and actually interesting things to find in ports. If he wants to work in a certain area of the map than he needs to plan ahead. If he only has an hour or so each day to play than stay in the area he can play in. We have a big map, you don't have to play or own all of it after all. When we had multi tow to ports you saw less folks on the OW cause they would just tow there ships all over the place pluss cargo (cause you could do it with cargo) which means even less PvP which the OG and other posters say they want. IF they want instant PvP than there is a game now out for it. Not my problem it's not there cup of tea either and still in beta stage (remember this game is an alpha). All I did was pointing him towards where he could get said instant combat. Right now as many folks have clearly stated changing mechanics is not going to solve the problem at hand, the problem is lack of players. We need to finish the rules/mechanics we have and than get the UI done and add some more content than try to get players back or bring in more. If we keep changing the mechanics around over and over this game will never get to a Beta stage and or release. We tried multi dur's, and we tried multi tel-ports and tel-ports after a battle. They didn't' work they ment less players on the OW which means even less PvP which he's complaining about. Hell I spent a good 2 hours last night getting Iron out of Parrot Cay since we weren't able to take it back and than picking up a tone of coal out of my coal port. It's part of the game, wasn't boring to me as I took a big risk running those ships out of port that just had battles around it early (like an hour or two after the port batttle). Some of us enjoy taking those risk and having a good sail. If others don't have the time than do what others do, buy the goods in port for an increase time from the folks that do enjoy making the sales and playing the game more than 30 mins or a few hours.
