2. Ranting and trolling A rant is a post that is filled with angry and counterproductive comments. Rants are disruptive, and incite flaming and trolling. Trolling is when you structure your posts to anger and insult other players to achieve an emotional response. Please post your thoughts clearly and avoid trolling. You really should learn what trolling is before you accuse other folks of it and or make personnel attacks that have nothing to do with the OP topic. He wanted something and I told him where he could get it a game designed exactly as he described he wanted. I also love how you hide behind a Forum name that isn't you in game name, which by the way can be seen as another form of trolling since folks don't know who you are in game.

Don't over extend your self, work out of ports you have set up in. My clan has three main areas we work out of. Every one has Mort. Islam and Cart with most of us having Kidd's too. You keep ships and supplies in those ports for fights. Anything we do in those regions we do from those ports. If we expand out we have some one bring a trade ship with supplies. You only expand out as much as you can support. If you can't get ships to those ports to stock up than you have no reason pushing further. I only have half the dock slots unlocked and I do fine. That is 11 ships but I only normally have about 9 at any one time. I also keep 1 outpost open at all times. I haven't unlocked the last one either. You just need to organized and work out your teams/clan to be ready. If you sink than go back and start over or have back up. If you want instant return to the fight and you don't have the supplies, than maybe Naval Action Legend is the game for you. And I haven't been the only one to say this, lately every thing you keep saying in your post means it's what you want, but in the OW. Sorry can't every every thing and easy mod. There needs to be some limits and challenges in the game. Other wise it gets boring, the same type of boring that keeps me from paying NAL. It's not my cup of tea.

Skill books
Sir Texas Sir replied to oldsailorpcwerth@live.com's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
You have to use the ship first and gain xp on that ship. As you gain more xp you unlock slots. Those slots are skills you have learned from either buying them from the shop or from drops. This is what I'm assuming your asking. Other than the shallow trade ships all ships have to have the slots unlocked through xp gained in combat. -
How to make players come back?
Sir Texas Sir replied to Simon Cadete's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
YOu mean the same guys that are having a fit cause we now have PvP items that they think are OP. They kinda can be, but we need more of the items they get from grinding in that shop so we don't have to grind. We can buy them with PvP marks instead. That and I think the PLVG needs to be a BP for 150 marks not just a ship. I won't buy it for just one ship. I would if it was the BP though. OK and why have never got an answer @admin about paints? Where have they gone? if you have a new system for them than keep them in until the new system comes. If not than bring them back and put them in epic event chest, treasure chest and bought through PvP marks. I bet you I could trade a sought after paint for a sought after mod they got from grinding pretty easly. We need more stuff to trade back to get the PvE content from them. The cost of the PvP content is so high there is no way I'm going to trade with what little PvP I get in these days and the fact I have to share the marks from my kills. I think what little I played and that been very little I gotten 2 dozen PvP marks from a few port battles and a few OW fights. -
Bring back multiple durability
Sir Texas Sir replied to Malachy's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Even better go back to having it so we can craft most mods and just make the Ship knowledge the main stat changer. I mean what mods do we have that can be crafted. Copper Plating Any accuracy mod. Any Pen mod that can be called cannon upgrades Etc etc Even better do like they mention in the post last year about the ship crafting where we would be selecting this stuff upon crafting the ship. You get the Wood type Frame and Planking and than three other options to add to the ship if you know the BP's for adding copper plating or certain refits. They become perm part of the ship until it's sunk. So each ship is a special build. -
1v1-2V2 banable?
Sir Texas Sir replied to King of Crowns's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Normally when you farm one side doesn't fight. That is what they do is check the logs to see if either side fights and if it's a pattern cause most farmers do it more than once. That is how they tend to get caught. Doing 1 vs 1's isn't a problem if you both actually fight each other and not just make it one sided. -
How to make players come back?
Sir Texas Sir replied to Simon Cadete's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Yah never liked it when they where able to pre-wipe. When we held Castries (french closes silver) to keep it out of the GB hands. I would fill any none GB/US/DUTCH contract or tell them to just let me know and I would sale silver to them directly cause I had so much stockpiled at that port. That and I wish we can pick and choose which contracts we can fill. If we know it's a known alt of another nation (IE SPY/TRAITOR/SMUGGLER) we should have the option to not sale to that player and to some one else even if it means less profits. his is why a reputation system is really honestly needed in this game. It could make trading/smuggling way more interesting. You are say a pirate, but you got great reputation with the french traders (you never hit them even protected a few) so you are allowed to go into there ports with a trade ship and trade. Your trade reputation is neutral with the Spanish cause you never do anything with them. You still need the smuggler flag to get your trade ship into that port. Say all you do is sink US ships, well guess what your trade reputation sucks you can't even event the ports with a smuggler flag cause they know it's you and your hated by that nation type thing. -
How to make players come back?
Sir Texas Sir replied to Simon Cadete's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Unless the game is pretty much an arena based game and even some of them have PvE content to do when your not attacking other players, but you look at most REAL MMO"s not arena games they have pretty much 99% PVE content. The PvP content is the players them selves attacking each other. Most of the good gear you have to do elite content to get against Elite Bosses with the help of other players. Other wise they have missions that you do in the PvP content (Kill so many players, get so many head shots, etc etc) that you have to do to get like wise PvP only gear. Most of them lock that gear to that player and only use in the PvP ares. I get the dog fight arena parts is pretty much all PvP but don't you have ground and sea targets that aren't run by players? That would be PvE content I hate to tell you. You can't put a contract up with the smuggler flag, you can only put contracts up in an enemy port if it's open to all. Though with the smuggler flag since it's kinda abused by some to force pirates to only be able to join one side (national tagging anther nation). They should be treated as pirates while they have that flag on and can be attacked by any one, even there own nation and other pirates. One thing about the crafting is they should tie crafting perks to your crafting rank. Fine we have combat perks right, 10 points you get for every other level until you max out at 5 and can put them towards combat sills. Well why do I have to reset it ever time i want to craft. My ranks and crafting level aren't part of the same system. Combat perks and crafting perks should be seperated. That way a guy that never crafts and is a Rear Admiral has his 10 perks for combat. A guy that never fights and all he does is craft/trade can have his 10 crafting perks points. Than you have the guys like me that are maxed out in both. That way I can do combat and crafting and not have to continue to reset my perks. Cause of the reseting I have a dedicated crafting alt that has all the crafting perks and never leaves the docs. Though it shouldn't be like this for the guy that has only one char, they should be able to do both without a reset if they have level up both there ranks and crafting level. It's easy give them one crafting point for ever 5 levels they game until they reach level 50 crafting. While this is a sandbox game and you can do what every you want, it still gives folks two careers paths they can go down or they can go down both if they want. As for Nations I wish they had national perks for being part of that nation. Think of the refits per-wipe. Yes I know folks will be like why do they have special powers, no think of it more like national focus in training of there navy. British - Reload bouns French - Accuracy bonus Pirates - Maybe upwind or boarding Prep or my pref more crew? Dutch/Swede/Danes - repair bonus US - Strong Hull (more HP not thickness) Spanish - Not sure as the hunter was turn/speed Three new nations are hard core mode so they don't get anything special but some one could think of something for them. You know something like that. Now what I would do so they aren't magic perks of the player is make it tied to crafting the ships in those nations. You want that special pirate refited ship you need to trade for one or capture one. You want the french fine ship that is designed to have a better fire line with it's cannons than you have to trade for one or capture it. This would give each nation a little perk as to why to play them instead of others. Now you can make it a player only skill so that it's not tied to the ship, but I think makeing national crafted ships would been better. I liked the concept of the crafted refits when you made a ship, but I just didn't like them being tied to a region not a nation cause the first thing strong nations did was captured all the good refit ports. That and we need population incentive to play certain nations. Do like other games, you have a small pop nation on a server give them an xp/credit boost over the high pop nations. Though the trick is picking how to pick if it's a small pop weak nations. Do you go by active player numbers (inactive won't work) or do you go by who owns the most ports. I would honestly go by who owns the most ports. The three new nations though would be exempt from this since they don't have a home capital. It's part of playing hard core mode. -
How to make players come back?
Sir Texas Sir replied to Simon Cadete's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
We need a reputation system in game so that you can have good and bad reputation with each nation. If you have good trade reputation with another nation you don't need a smuggler flag to get into port with a trader (still can't use a war ship though) and do trade. If you have a medium rang trade rep than you have to use the smuggler flag that should make you able to be attacked by all and the battle should be treated just as if your a pirate. These battles should have no Green on Green rules too. It's simple just make all battle positional join and have the rule that only green on green against the rule is same nation and only if you want to report it (exclude pirates). Bring back the old way to become a pirate too but tie it into the reputation system. You can't make a pirate char you have to become one in game. If you dont' want to be a pirate any more you gain good reputation (a privateer system would work great for getting that with a nation) and than once you hit a level of high enough reputation you get the option to join that nation perm. We need PvE content. Simple actual missions to get folks to do things. I would love a semi fog of war on the map too. It shows capitals of regions and that is it. You have to actually travel to that region to find the other ports and map them. Than if you travel to all regions in game you get an achievement/tittle. Again this could be tied into a reputation system too. Some one that been all over the map could have a high Exploration skills which might boost there Trade skills too for the reputation of other nations since you have info and knowledge from your travels to trade. Missions that reward you stuff instead of the random drops. Kill 100 AI you get a mod drop. Kill 100 Players you get something else. Make these items that can drop in any battle but it gives folks a goal to get an extra copy by doing said missions and turning them in. Leader boards and I hate them when they become a compittion, but what I would love is to be able to look at my stats. How many players have I sunk, how many AI, how many of those where done in boarding? Stuff like that. How bad am I? Do I get sunk more than I sink others. Just basic info about my char in his life and action in game. This could be public to make a semi leader board. I been told a lot of this info is in the api files so it wouldn't be to hard to collect it. Though I would prefer it more just to look at my own stats, but a leader board would be interesting. You can also list the last 5-10 kills or been kill from which would help curve folks grinding alts and cheating to pad stats. If that info is very clearly shown than folks would be less likely to do it. -
I always though since we have starting capital areas with pretty much every thing a new player needs to craft repairs a great way to do the tutorials is with missions. The missions send you out to say do your first kill against a cutter (first mission). This to get you some xp and gold. Than it sends you after a Trade ship (maybe even teach you how to capture it) so you can learn about trade ships. Another missions has you set up a building in your capital for a resource. I'll use pirates as an example: You can do Fir and Oak at Mort. It gives you option to make Hull or Rig repairs. You pick and you set up your Oak (for Hull) and Fir for rig repairs. Than it has you go to Islet to set up Hemp farm. This will give you ever thing you need to make rig repair. Or it will send you to go to Ocean Bright for coal and than Little Inagua for Iron. That is now two to three out post you have set up and started you on prodcution. Your capital should always be a free out post and they should keep the first one free too, but the third you might have to do some missions and grind to get. Than once 24 hours of time is up it has a mission to tell you how to harvest your goods and more steps about how to craft either repair. They can be pretty simple missions that just tell you to go do this or that. Each one teaching them some of the basic. Ship combat can be the same with that first two combat. POTBS and WOT's has a mission that sends you out to do just that fight your first ship/tank and it has nothing to do with any of the other battles. You go do a fight with one AI and the game walks you through the commands. This could be an option before some one even hits OW that all players have to go through a mine mission that shows them the basics.

I been wanting to ask this for a very long time...>>WHO ARE YOU ON GLOBAL<< Cause there is no player I have ever fought named George Washington so that means your not using your in game name, but you seem to talk a lot and play a lot on there. I mean I get if you don't want to tell folks, but hay man I have 4 pirates and I only let folks know my main two. Some guy actually said I wasn't in a port battle that I called. Yep Texas and Dead wasn't in there, but that didn't mean my other two Pirates wasn't in there. One is still leveling up so I took him to the shallow water port battle (bought him over the summer when the game was on sale). I just wondering who you might be with all this salty you been having lately. Do like I have, go take a break. I been playing other games for the most part and only pop into NA to take care of clan things (since I'm one of the Clan Diplomats). I'll be honest I'm burned out in the game and with them removing pirate content and not adding things other than some great ship changes that was needed I would prefer to take a month or so off and not be so salty.

Politics and PBs (Patch 11/12 - "Clan Wars")
Sir Texas Sir replied to Teutonic's topic in Caribbean News
I know I don't speak for all of pirate nations, but I would like to say two things. We are greatly sorry that you now have to deal with Mumbo Jumbo (Quigley) and we would like to also say.....>>THANK YA"LL FOR NOW HAVING TO DEAL WITH HIM<<<< lol Sorry man he's been a pain in our arse since pre-wipe. Just wait until he starts crashing into you and shooting your own team mates in a battle. Got a feeling we are going to see a lot more of those with the numbers. I kinda hate the new job has me working during US prime time (2nd shift) so I can't even make them unless it's on Sunday. -
The only one I see crying is you about lack of PvP and I gave you a solution. As for clubing seals your the only one I seen that mainly does that to capitals. 82 kills over a weekend and you barly had over 100 points (think it was like 152) that a lot of noobs and trade ships around mort. You did the same with the Brits not so much with the US though. So don't be calling out others for something you do all the time yourself buddy. To be exact I never killed any noobs over in Charleston area, most of the guys I fought where top ranks, but in store bought ships so they pretty much sunk easily or Lionshaft in his basic cutter. Stop crying and saying they are noobs when they aren't. They are just sucky Carebears that don't know how to fight. I mean when they actually come out. Now for the low ranks I have seen that get killed and fight over there it's normally new players wanting to fight no matter what or small clans trying to protect there waters. The issue is the old timers that refuse to come out and defend there waters. Actually this game is not like that game, that game has two factions. This game has 8 well now 11 with the three new nations. When all the nations gather together to kill one nation there is a problem. Specially when that nation isn't zerging. If pirates where zerging the map than yes I expect multi nations to get together and stop them. What it is ya'll are so butt hurt from the past and not being able to win fair fights that you gang up to use numbers instead of fighting nations that have equal skill players. Really when was the last time any nation attack each other? Pirates have been on the defense since the wipe. Which by the way we got zero players from EU server unlike other nations. We actually lost players until VCO came a long. You can ask any of them how much they where surprised when they actually saw our numbers in reality. It wasn't what they where expecting. In fact they are the only reason we prob aren't down to our capital region right now. That is why have only attacked after being attacked. I let the guys find out why we can't do an offensive fight against either of the big nation and I know you can remember the results of San Agustin....we don't have the numbers to that type of fighting any more. It's why we keep to our little bubble around mort and just defend stuff with a few fun attacks around. What pirate force buddy? How many times I'm going have to say it's mainly 15-20 guys your fighting. Compared to one of the largest nations. It's not my fualt the two largest nations on the server are a bunch of care bears. Oh and we do come out and defend our waters something that US and GB didn't do and why folks get sunk out in front of CT. You where told to come out and fight cause ya'll always had the numbers if you just came out and fight. I mean how many times did we have to show up and fight through screening fleets in the early days. Some of those empty port battles where folks where gabbing land from spain ya'll had 50-70 folks show up. We maybe got two small screening fleets (Islam and Cayo port battles had less than 10 screeners more just guys wanting PvP) out of how many port battles? Ya'll stop fighting and screening when you couldn't abuse the BR system and your numbers. The problem is you won't fight unless you have the numbers and sure win, which most the time still isn't a sure win. This is a peoples problem not a game problem.

Which brings up the point that most folks that have the full slots and cool mods tend to be the PvE guys that don't mind grinding. So there isn't a reason for them to complaing about PvPers getting them or even having there own version. Last week I bought 4 Barricades (4-5) off a guy that likes to PvE grind. That is four ship knowledge that didn't drop that much. He was asking nothing for them pretty much. I did offer to make him a SOL when he level up. He said he will let me know when he has other ones (I'm so looking for planking any level), but this guy had 4 of one of the rarer mods just sitting around. I put it on my chars that needed it and than passed it on to some clan members that needed them. But my point is skill will beat mods most times cause hate to say it you can have a decked out 5 slot ship and still suck. Though it does give you an edge in the game, but not always.

Hardcore pvp server
Sir Texas Sir replied to Malachy's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I'm sitting on 11 rates between my two pirate chars. Over half of those (6 l'oceans that i know of) are not ships I built. They are ships I captured in port battles when the chance came about to do boarding. I was not board fit in my Victry, in fact most of them I was under crew compared to the other ship I took. I did not have board mods on them other than maybe Barricades. What I did have was the smarts to turn my board prep on when I was about to get into a hot mess of ships taggled together or some one getting caught into the wind and saved my rum for the board. Most the time I never even needed the rum as I took the ships with maybe 100 crew lost at max. The problem is players don't have a clue how to board and button smash and than complain about the boarding system. It's a very simple system to learn the counters and attacks to defeat some one pretty quickly. I have captured more than just those 6 ships cause I have given some of them away to players that lost ships in port battles and some players that only had one or none 1st rate ships. The problem isn't boarding the problem is many folks don't understand the game mechanics than than bitch when they get out played by some one that does. I personally suck at One vs Ones which is why I never do duels with folks. Though I know enough of the game mechanics I can out fight/play most of the common players and even other fellow vets out there in a fight. Boarding is like the guys that demast. It's part of the game and it might seem OP for the guys that are really good at them. The problem is the other 99% of the other players that aren't experts of that skill set. Not every one is going to be mister elite expert of every game. As for the servers they honestly just need to merge all three of them, sorry if you piss any one off that want a special place but right now until the game is release there is no reason to have three servers running. That are just make the GLOBAL server the experimental server with new test patches and than make the EU the main server that they bring those test patches to life with. That if they really want to keep two servers (I never count PvE in with the other two) than allow us to do a merge of content and than once every thing is merged on both servers folks can pick which server they want to play on like they where suppose to do with the wipe. They left to much content on one server or the other that folks didn't even try to change and go to the other. My biggest issue with this game is if they have 50% sales in North America (heard Admin even say US) than why isn't 50% of your players from that regions? They need to find out why those players leave and why they aren't retaining over half there sales population. I have my reasons why many of us stop playing but I'll keep those to myself as they don't want to listen half the time or even try to. -
That should be the concept but the problem is the every man for them self some players and clans have. When the wipe happen and a lot of folks where out around Mort Ganking pirates traders doing the stupid Mort to Tort run (still doing it too and still getting ganked like noobs) we would jump out and go defend them. Than it gets old after you keep telling them stay away from Tort it's a hot zone. It's the same guys trying to make a buc with there 4 trade ships and min profit trade. Right now in game I can make more than them by running some missions for an hour or two and these guys still think that is the way to get rich to do that trade run. It's not, but hay if you want to run trade ships that is the lovely thing about this game you don't have to do all combat there are other things to do, but the problem is there isn't enough PvE content to keep those type of players around and the pop keeps dropping cause of it. Now as to the player issue, we found when you go to other ports/captial regions every one runs and hides. The other thing is a lot of veterans clans from other nations like US and GB move away from the capital regions, but don't keep ships around to help defend. To many folks don't want to fight unless it's a sure win. Which I understand i don't want to be sunk every time I go out too. If some PvE player needs help and I'm free I'll try to go help them. Unless it's the same guy that doing the same stupid run he gets caught every couple of days and some times daily than I got to a point I just say screw it and ignore them. They are the same guys asking how to do the speed bills and constally asking for new ships, but they don't understand you need to open slots to get the speeds we get and the ships how we have them. You don't get that by making trade runs all day, you got to grind AI if you want the xp and that has gotten a lot of folks bored of the game. I think the loot and drops are much better now, but the problem is they should of made these changes when we told them about it in Testbed pre-wipe. I mean how long had i been fighting to get XP for Damage? A lot of the solutions come to late after we loose the interest of those players the changes would of helped keep around. You don't need them but they help, the problem is the folks that have all the slots open and all the cool mods are the folks that also for the most part have the higher skill set for the PvP and tend to have an edge in organization and team work over the guys that don't have that or new players. What we see a lack of and this is a numbers problem is folks trying to help each other out and people (this for all nations) picking off the few players left until they just get bored and stop playing to. As a player I have found out some of these things don't work. The total dominate of another nation drives players off. That why we changed a lot of how we played and fight. On Global if any one actually go back and checked things out for the most part Pirates have only reacted only after being attacked. We let them start it so there is no excuse how we respond, but they don't see it that way. PIRATES BAD MUST KILL THEM ALL and than wonder why folks stop playing when it's the only folks fighting. I actually love parts of the PvE aspect of the game but there is no incentive to do that any more for me cause I have every thing and done every thing. I been to every port, there are no missions for me to do or quest. New port battles are cool, but have came to late and shouldn't be ever port, folks still want the big 25 vs 25 some times in the big boy ships (Is there any ports you can have 25 SOL in?). They finally put in rewards for PvP so not every thing is locked behind grinding PvE, which actually drove a lot of players away cause they didn't want to do the grind. No new systems for pirates to make them something other than a bastard nation. There are a lot of things they did to late or haven't touched at all that needs fixing before they bring back any decent number of players.

What he doesn't tell you is that currently well as of a bit a go they run around in fleets of French, US, and GB players and a maybe a few other nations only attacking pirates. If they want PvP maybe they should attack each other instead of ganging up on one nation and camping the closes free town to the capital. They whole server hates pirates cause they can't get organized ot beat a few guys at RvR, when your take into account that two of those nations take up prob about 60% of the server pop, US and GB being the two largest nations in game and they for the most part don't fight each other that is why they can't find any PvP. Stop being in an care bear alliance and maybe you will find more fights. KoC and his band got a lot of fights back when they attacked US and GB too, so there is no excuse to say you can't get PvP when your not fighting the two largest nations. To be honest many of us are just burned out and tired of the game. Hell I haven't until last night logged in almost a week and only than to do my econ. Pretty much I only log in to make any diplo changes to ports and such when needed for the clan. I just not feeling the game any more and oddly taking away something I rarely used but was something that set pirates apart was my last straw. They didn't fix the problem we had with Nationals tagging each other and abusing battles that way (more of any problem than Pirates battle which where FFA and positional joins but they refused to join them) and the abuse of the smuggler flags when tagging other nations. Well back to playing some other game for a bit.

LGV Pirate refit
Sir Texas Sir replied to Landsman's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
You should of seen when we last took it, they had one day over a dozen 1st rates out there grinding. We showed up lipped it and took it. That morinng before the port battle over a Dozen US 1st rates where spotted leaving an heading back to there coast line. They didn't show up for the port battle to defend. It was a safe zone for them to grind. I bet you on GLOBAL since US and GB have ports there you will find folks doing the safety grind. While I'll say a lot of pirates do the same at kidds, but to say those aren't safe zones is just kidding your self. You have to have some one pretty die hard come out that far to jump into your missions and it does happen from time to time. -
limited ammunition
Sir Texas Sir replied to MasterBurte's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I never understood why we had to pay for double charge and double ball. These should be things you learn as you level up. Than do chain shot like you do double ball and charge and have a limited amount you can use in a battle before they run out and all you have is the unlimited amount of ball. Grape can also be limited like this. That way every new battle you get into your ammo is back to it's max amount, you just are limited per battle. This will keep folks from doing nothing but spamming chain in a battle if they are going to eventually run out of ammo. The problem is finding out that balanced sweet spot of how much a ship could carry. As for the perks have ya'll every thought about having the combat perks limited to your rank (like it is now) and than having the crafting perks linked to your crafting level? Right now you can not have a crafter and a combat char set up if they have maxed rank in both. They really should be tied to there ranks/levels respectively. If some one is Maxed out Rank but have no crafting levels they will only have combat perks set off there rank. IF they have low rank but maxed out crafting they will have very few combat perks but a lot of crafting. If they are an old fart like me maxed out in both then they would have a lot of crafting and combat marks. This will also give folks reason not to use alts. I have three pirates. One is set up for Heavy/PB style combat, one is set up for lightship/scouts. The last is poorly nothing but a crafter. Why does some one have to run 3+ chars to do that? -
LGV Pirate refit
Sir Texas Sir replied to Landsman's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
WRONG when we did Operation Camel Toe (Wilimingon and Savannah regions on each side of your capital) , Dutch Oven (the bottom edge of map that was Dutch lands) and the Lone Ranger (all the silver ports owned by US, GB, Dutch) the average numbers was around 250-almost 300 a night. PvP2 numbers actual went up while EU's where still going down when we did that. Know why they went up? Cause folks where fighting and not sitting on there arse hiding in port. Oh and when I said 22 ports I was wrong you had 22 regions when we took those two so you had more like 100 ports. There was a reason I was posting all that info about port battles and such. We did a lot of documentation of what was going on with the server. We found out when the players actually got active and fought the numbers went up. It wasn't until the big carebear clans gave up and did, "lets not show up to bore the pirates cause they will go away if no one show" that the numbers started to drop. It wasn't us that caused the numbers to drop it was big clans like yours and your carebear attitude to not fight. That and the stupid alliance system that didn't allow them to fight each other was killing the small clans that wanted to fight other clans of other nations other than pirates. And Joba did the poll right after we took one of those ports as a joke and like I said it was mainly US players saying for us to take more ports. They wanted us to take ports from you guys to crush the allaince and prove it wasn't workign which it never did work cause half the time one side or the other wouldn't show up to help. Hell when we where attacking the Dutch you didn't see any US or very few GB help them even though they showed up to help you in the US fights. It seem the further you got from the US the lest any one help them. But none of this has anything to do with the topic about a ship that is now in game. My point over all was that polls can be silly cause half the time folks troll them and don't answer them truthfully or with actually knowledge about things like pirate mechanics and such, cause they go off what they think or hear instead of actually game mechanics and what is going on. -

I would prefer to see open world stay the same with the nations. Make the port battles clan base though. So that same nation clans that have a beef with each other can fight, but only in the port battles. Just put a longer cool down on these type of battles so folks don't get trolled by some alt clan or a clan that just flats out hate them. Make the hostility missions free for all for the most part so you can join either side and help either clan if they are the same nation friendly clan list says who can join the port battles. Some clans might be on both list and can actually join both sides. This wasn't to unheard of back in old times when houses fought each other even though they where under the same national flag. The other thing is just make Pirates Privateers FACTION (not nation) and if a pirate clan gets a Letter of Marque they can work for that clan as a Privateer, but only for that clan. This will allow small clans to hire out other players to fill there port battles and help them fight bigger clans.. The way you can make this work in OW is to have zones for type of OW battles. Safe Zones around capitals your normal PvP fights with the join circles and reinforcements. NO GREEN ON GREEN ALLOWED National owned waters normal PvP battles with join circles. NO GREEN ON GREEN ALLOWED OF SAME NATION. PvP hot zones FFA style battle with positional join. The tag circles decides the side when you start but after that any one can join on either sides. ANY ONE CAN SHOOT ANY ONE NO MATTER WHAT SIDE YOU JOIN SINCE IT"S A POSITIONAL JOIN. There are two ways to make PvP hotzones. Number one way is to put agro on a port and it gets a red zone around that port. It is only activated once the port is put into port battle status and it stays active until the port battle happens. I would even go as far as allow it to stay until port is off cool down. This is to show that area is a war zone and any thing can happen. The other way is to allow clans that own a port to set the port a PvP Hotzone and the port will remain so until it's taken off hotzone or some one else captures it. -

Maybe just maybe they tagged an AI or killed some poor smuck that was solo out there. See this is exactly the problem with this game is folks that have no CLUE try to say what is going on. It's why we laughed when ya'll bitch about us using them for port battles before the BR Battle groups changed things. You could join any time you want. We never left the join area, like ya'll keep saying we did. If you had the balls to send in a scout you would of found this out. The British have figured this out and have joined our battles when we used them or was doing other things. US never had the balls to try. Maybe fore you speak of things learn them. Oh and Pirates never was restricted from 1st Rates (other than buying permits and BP) so I don't know what old rules you say we use to have. Dude really learn the game mechanics before you start judging them. As for abused of fights I never really say the Pirates Battles abused other than to avoid tags around La Tort by keeping your trade ship in fleet since fleet ships didn't enter FFA battles. Devs fixed that though so that isn't a problem any more. I thought it was cheesy myself and was glad when they fixed it. Now what I do see a problem and it's not fixed is SMUGGLER FLAG. If a player tags a US buddy with Smuggler flag and they are Brit it makes a Brit vs Pirate Smuggler battle. Well us Pirates can't pick what side we want to join, we can only join the Pirate Smuggler side. They would do bad tags so it would be impossible to get them most times and when they escape they would have there invisibility and super speed. This was and is still being constantly abused by the Nationals. Way more than any Pirate vs Pirate taggins to avoid fights. Those battles also close and they are not positional join so you have to turn and go back to a join circle loosing more time and bad battle placement. To fix this they should make all OW battles that are PvP and not in a safe zone Positional join and bring back the second big join circle. If your in the big circle and some one is tagged you get the option to join at that spot if you wish. Though only the folks that are in that circle get the position join option. Any one out side the big circle has to join the old fasion way up to the 2.5. min timer. This will also stop the putting join circles in land to prevent others from joining.
