In the current version of the game you can turn your yards parallel to the wind and your ship will stop without raising sails (furling).

It is exciting to be at the start of something potentially great. For great products word of mouth can do wonders and it is already doing it for us. Naval Action webpage monthly stats (numbers below are for January) - no marketing, no pr, no talking to press. (Flare path found us themselves - Thank you Flare Path) But of course lots of users coming too early is a double edge sword - if hundred of thousand sailors come here we wont be able to talk to you all personally. We are a small team and wont have resources initially (unless we start charging money). In addition we have very high standards on community management and it is not easy to scale this competence. Because of that early adopters (you guys) would definitely help us by filtering good information from the noise and pointing it to us if we miss or forget something. ps we love you. -

Hey Baggy Definitely everything is very early version and can and will be improved. So your feedback is very welcome. Running rigging: we are still thinking on how to implement it and optimize it so it is beautiful and does not kill performance.

I am getting my skipper's license this summer. Has been delaying it last 5 years but now its finally time. Will also make it mandatory for high level Naval Action developers to get the sailing course done.

не хватает красивых. хотелось услышать какой корабль именно спать не дает - хочется на палубе постоять. если говорить про базовую линейку (не касающуюся национальности) то есть следующие дыры - но собственно мы их и так постепенно закроем больше 105+ орудий - 2 корабля от 74 и до 100 орудий - 3 корабля от 52 до 74 орудий - 2 корабля от 38 до 48 орудий - 1-2 корабля от 20 до 32 орудий - 3-4 корабля до 20 орудий есть только 3 корабля а там было очень большое разнообразие бриги, бриги-шлюпы, бригантины, шлюпы, шлюпы оф вар, ган бриги, кетчи, круизеры, пакеты, шхуны. так что сейчас хотим услышать корабли мечты -
Most questions are already answered around.. but because there is no FAQ yet (working on it) 1) we will start from the English channel for testing and then expand 2) guilds and clans = important part of the game 3) focus testing - focus testing - early access - closed beta - open beta etc.. we are in focus testing 1 now. But because major systems are in place now we can now move a bit faster with content and features.

there will be no classes in our game. we plan to implement other systems to limit number of alts. if a player sinks a pirate with a huge bounty and a national KOS that pirate will go to jail this system is nothing new by the way. it is a very fun feature in Archeage. -

pirates (unless they are sneaky) can be attacked and captured anywhere, but you will have to identify it (sail close enough) but what are you gonna do.. a pirate life for me. -

you can move your cannons right and left and you can wait for you cannons to be aimed more carefully so if you dont aim the spread will be bigger -

wow that's a beauty - does anybody have the tech drawings for this? yes - we mean such ships that would be invaluable in port battles (where players have invested in and manned the shore batteries)

On the skills we definitely said and stand by this - there will be no "magic" skills in the game but there will be some passive skills and perks you will be able to train and allocate (especially for your officers and crew) on active skills we are undecided - the UI for sailing ship is complex enough - adding more skills will make it worse

любой караван научатся убивать быстро я помню в КО первый флот на капризных 42 левела. один даже утонул из нашей группы (по моему это был Ветер Ад на евро) было сложно и интересно через месяц этот флот вообще не воспринимался как противник и методично раскладывался в 2-3 хода на любых кораблях сделать такой караван опасным можно только запретив рейты игрокам. или спаунить рандомно очень редко и в очень сложных местах - сделать так что те, кто его нашел будут реально радоваться и им будут завидовать все карибы. и тут последний вопрос СергоКона как раз кстати. если 1 млн дублонов, тебе пришел то не потеряешь ли интерес к игре. У нас конечно есть идеи как их потратить, но когда то все равно все будет куплено. и вот тут то и начинается ендгейм, и он должен держать игрока и тянуть назад в игру. поэтому мы и начинаем с боевки - должно быть интересно когда уже все открыто и прокачано.

Examinations and Naval tests for players are planned to be added in game On the flag change the idea is this Player will only be able to change the flag if he has acquired the necessary flags in port and maybe learned the language. Player can only change the flag if their nations or guilds are at war If they are not at war changing the flag and attacking the friendly or neutral ship will constitute the act of Piracy. The merchant attacked will be able to file the complaint to the admiralty and the player will be court martialed on entry into the national port (or ally port). Multiple attacks on neutral or friendly shipping will cause the player to become a pirate. In this case he will only be able to enter pirate ports. Merchants can place a bounty on pirates. But unlike other games pirates wont be able to wash bounty away through alts. Because sinking a pirate (capturing) will make the pirate go to jail - meaning pirate will have to serve it real time. So flag changing is a serious business - do so only if you are really sure you want to become a pirate.
