Hey Jones i have known you since you were an ensign 3 wipes ago Well.The proposals which led to those changes they were mostly focused on this - crafting is too easy and simple, there are too many first rates, and there are too many yellow ships, its too casual and too easy. There were a lot of comments like that. First ever topic on too many first rates was raised by your nation's Captain. First topic on too many exceptional ships was raised as well. You might even know some of those people. Be careful what you wish for here - it is an open development community and you might get harder crafting and less first rates. And in the future whenever someone tries to change YOUR gameplay don't stay silent and speak up. PS We are reviewing the fine wood requirements and think they are a mistake. We listened a little bit too much to the "too many lineships" crowd. And ratings also show it they were 8% higher before the patch. The rest of the changes the majority agree were awesome.. Fine wood could have destroyed crafting for normal players.

  8. One idea is invite testers to a closed environment with fast drastic changes to speed up without the fear of forum nuclear fallouts if some of those changes are unpopular. At the same time update the main server only when needed
  9. few weeks? 8 weeks maybe but the reality is that we might just stop updating main servers and move all active willing testers to a separate environment with constant wipes and game mechanics testing. The main servers will only be wiped before release. i think we have just overestimated the players desire to participate in open development. you faced wipes before and survived.
  10. thats a mistake. i wanted to set the speed for the Hermione (french one) but set it for the Bloody Hermione (Santa Cecilia) instead. It will be reverted
  11. we actually adjusted the weights of the war supplies today's hot fix. we knew it was a problem. We believe that it should take approximately 100 medium size traders to get hostility to the max. It will be very hard to not spot such convoy and react. We will continue monitoring the situation withe the war supplies and will adjust accordingly.
  12. you can't capture the capital. thus extra labor have to be in capture able regions. we were/are considering the idea that owning extra labor regions should give some bonuses to labor hours of all allies who own the region. But make it one region for the map.
  13. thats very strange because rookie zones don't allow fleets into battles. are you sure you were not far away from the zone? Port battles also should not let fleets in
  14. pve and pvp events are coming back based on all the community feedback.
  15. basically Agamemnon 400 br could cause insta-wins in pb if towers were destroyed. All BRs were adjusted to counter that problem. Once land in port battles is added BR 2.x win requirement will be abandoned completely, because port battles will look more like Conquest mode in Battlefield 3. (where you have to capture and control areas in the harbor to win the PB) please send me a message in a PM describing the problem in detail with goods types of missions and cities.
  16. We can't update hostility real time - too expensive server wise. It updates every 30 mins or on any change of state. This is why players see it a bit differently.

  19. Hotfix was deployed today Allies now generate hostility if sank in port waters (first reported by Plak and Jeheil) Alliances bug was supposedly fixed. Alliances should work as intended and no reset was required. We will continue monitoring the situation (thanks Anolytic for timely warning) Port battle entry was closed for some captains due to bug - fixed Certain bugs with contract pricing and delivery orders fixed Supply of materials from NPC lowered (and might get lowered again) we overestimated NPC production capacity. Critical bug with disconnects of players attacking on borders of capital protection waters fixed BR changes for higher tier vessels was done to solve some of the problems with port battles (for example 25 ingermanlands vs 25 agamemnons) Speed adjusted for several vessels Niagara and Brigs slightly buffed in terms of HP and combat performance Acceleration slightly lowered for 4th rates and lower (4 3 2 1) (remained the same in 1st rates) Wood types color schemes changed for certain wood types Weights and recipe adjusted for War supplies Other fixes and bugs 2-4/3-5 upgrade slots crafting change did not get in. It took more time than we expected.

Main post updated to answer some of the questions raised in the topic: Regional bonuses will remain and NPC ships as well will have them too Regions and map will not change thus your repositioning to new areas will remain valid ETA for the changes is somewhere between end december - end january. We will first add land in port battles and some other previously promised things. Wood types will remain and will affect ships stats, what will change is how the ship general stats and upgrade slots and other elements are determined during crafting, giving more options to a crafter to build the ship just for him (or for his buyers) The current proposal is a proposal and might change based on what is found during the design stage.

  23. Well what do you mean by "punsh" i am sorry. Every good player should participate in the future tournaments. We are making them a game functionality thanks to community who made the first 3v3 tournament happen. Psst. maybe you can bring out your Agamemnons (that mostly british players have) and capture those Santa Cecilias? Well as a honorable Gentleman from the North you probably know that it is a good idea to express gratitude for unexpected gifts
  24. All tournament winners and runners up received the Santa cecilia (inlcuding esteemed judges who did heavy gods work in setting it up and monitoring spending endless hours on it). Everyone who got to the quarterfinal has it as far as i remember. I also remember it was extremely hard to get people to sign up and it took long time to actually get the required number of teams. First place also got both ocean and aga blueprint. Second place got ocean ship and aga blueprint. Third place got rattlesnake heavy blueprint and some ship i dont remember. Everyone who reached quarterfinals (including winners) received santa cecilia as far as i remember as a special gift from me personally. As Woody Allen once said - 90% of success is just showing up. Maybe next time the tournament will be a little bit more popular .
