Gameplay Intervention (Little River)
admin replied to Raxius's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
This is a planned change (that will only be done on map reset) 1) All former free towns will be connected to nearby county or become a county (free towns that lost their freetown status in 2017 like la navasse) 2) as a result resources in those counties will change their positions. thats it. -

Regarding the map itself this is the one overdue thing. Former free towns must be parts of the counties, OR become a county. -
Gameplay Intervention (Little River)

This is true (former free towns like little river will be connected to nearby counties), and this decision was made LOOOOONG time ago. Specifically in 2017 when a lot of free towns were converted to normal capturable towns. All of them stayed without the connection to the region. And we decided not to add them to regions (counties) until release. This has nothing to do with player requests or conquest strength or weakness of certain nations; this also has nothing to do with little river. The reason for this delay in connecting is the following: Adding the city back to the region will change resource positions in the region (as they are distributed automatically). As a result we could not add cities to counties then, because it could break existing economy routes and will force players to rebuild their production lines. This only could have been done on a major economy reset or release of the game. As a result on release cities like la navasse, little river and many others will connect to regions and become parts of the county when the game launches on steam (full release). Meanwhile (until release or major economy wipe) the city will remain capturable. -

the texture must be square to work well -
We do not know yet if there will be more imported vessels. Lets give hercules and le requin a chance first. Paints definitely will happen though.

Now that the dust have settled. What are your thoughts and potential improvements going forward? -
dont know yet. Lets first see how imported 6th rates and 5th rate will affect the long term balance.

We had this Unfortunately people overused it turning this feature into a ram-fest, a ram-job. It was switched off as a result. Originally you could ram a ship and sink it instantly (both of you) if you had enough mass and energy generating devastating hole under water or at the waterline. Because it was so realistic and dominant someplayers ignored combat and were just ramming and ramming everyone.

There were no wind profile changes.

Thanks Vile And thanks everyone for support. Lots of love

Update 23rd June 2018 Potential fix for the disappearance of name and buttons from the friendly or enemy ship info panel Forced the amount of extra docks from 5 to 10 received from the Admiralty Connection DLC (so you do not have to wait till next week) Changed the leaks/speed dependence (ships were sinking too slowly before) You only get the 50% leaks reduction if you are stationary From 10% speed up to 80% speed leaks works without bonuses or penalties (just like before the patch) From 80% speed and up to 100% they gradually rise to 150% To get full benefits of leaks reduction (to get a chance to repair the ship - you have to stop your vessel).

Step by step it will be balanced. The issue you are mentioning will be addressed next week.

Outposts are still under consideration. The interesting thing is that the p2w negative that some people suggested can be considered a great thing for the game by others. Negative: + more outposts allow you to jump to battles faster, find enemies faster, and reduce your travel time on the open world = thus its pay 2 win. Positive: + more outposts allow you to jump to battles faster, find enemies faster, and reduce your travel time on the open world = thus its quality of life. We have not found the way to respond to the negative. Because negative view is true - it does speed up access to battles. But it also brings quality of life. One would argue that there are already so many outposts that allow to cover all map and adding 1-3 more will change nothing. It deserves a separate topic basically.

Open world UI feedback (2018)

Chat is one of the most used features and we decided not to touch it unless absolutely sure new chat is better (must be readable and not obtrusive). So chat will be updated after port UI most likely or just freshened up. -
Captains Hercules DLC takes longer to propagate through steam systems and redeem button might not work for some users. Please hold on until tomorrow maintenance (saturday) we will force update it and it will be working normally.

Arguable. As a lot of maps refer to Saintiago as St.Iago St jago and Sant Iago. -
Totally understand. Thats why lineships and other amazing powerful vessels wont ever be premium Think about it this way.. You get 2 lightship vessels for fighting once a day (75 days in in game time). Those are just 6th rates and during early game experience maybe it is a good thing, to have something you will never be afraid to lose. But lets keep the discussion going. Premium vessels role in game must be defined if we want new vessels like this to appear. We will see it in action and will listen to your feedback.

hold - on, investigating the issue. One theory is that it has not propagated across all valve systems yet (due to today's approval and immediate release). Checking and will report back asap.
-
probably it did not propagate to valve system and uses old testing numbers it should be 10 but gives 5 it will take 1-2 days to update properly please pass along this in chat - it should be 10 but due to today's valve approval probably did not update yet.

Will check asap.
