Hi Captains We are almost finished with the port UI and plan to deploy it soon. Here is some information on the mission system that will be updated over next 2-3 patches (probably starting with the port UI patch) Operations Operations is a set of objectives that must be fulfilled to receive a big reward Every player will have to start with the Welcome to the Caribbean operation that will unlock subsequent events and missions Conquest operations will be introduced giving nations specific timed goals (asking to capture a region, a city or an island) Combat missions More variety will be added to combat missions. Unnecessary mission ranks will be removed OW hunt missions will be added Some missions will require you to sail a specific ship looking for a specific target Some missions will require you to find a specific good in the holds of the enemies. Economy missions Delivery missions will return Ship crafting and cannon crafting missions will be added Port Agent system We will start with 3 agents per port Missions will depend on port size and maybe taxes Player can exhaust all tasks in the port and will have to move to a new one Challenges will return in the improved form First challenge will be an OW hunt weekly challenge Tournaments We will start with the duel tournament based on Naval Action Legends Duel Event Next patch you can definitely expect an improved variety of combat missions, combat challenges and a weekend duel tournament could also get in. As usual we are showing the preview from the new port UI - Here is a login screen draft Improved speed and quality of development can definitely be attributed to @sterner who is now helping to oversee the production before release.

It will be fixed next big patch.

We should be realistic here. If you buy @Christendom a beer and if he gifts you ocean in game for that. I cannot enforce, control or punish this. Its impossible. The goal of the RMT chat rule is to remove spam and remove RMT trading as a business from the game (selling in game items to make real money). Occasional barter transactions between friends are not covered by it.
-
Mass advertising of selling of in game goods for real world currency (e.g. player offers you in game gold - asking you to pay him real money in lets say PayPal) in public channels will cause immediate ban from chat. But based on the screen in chat the player was looking to gift a DLC to someone (has not asked real world currency from anyone) and it is not obvious he was doing mass advertising for that. There are no rules for this yet. Lets discuss with the community here. Gifting is something we cannot control (steam controls that). There is no real way to enforce it.

Thanks for the suggestions To not get you discouraged - all proposals are noted on the forums and tracked for future use. But at this stage we cant sneak weather engine work into the production because we must finish port ui and localize the game and all time is eaten by this work. So only critical bugs and problems can be fixed until those 2 blocks are finished.

Indeed. Someone can gift you a DLC and we cannot do anything about it because Valve wont do anything about it - as gifting is not against steam eula. GL does not endorse such kind of trades as players doing this trade cannot be protected by GL or Valve (i don't know if you can retract a gift for example if you were not paid in game). RMT rules were established some time ago. Mass public offers to sell in game content for real money (which plaque chats in many MMOs like Wow) are not allowed. I think there was a rule about that - i will link it in a little bit.

DLC ship cannot be sold because the DLC brings the ship into your docks right away and does not create a tradeable note. You cannot sell the DLC to other players its impossible. If he is not lying, if he really can do the trade - he is selling a ship note. (Hercules ship note which can be converted into a ship) Hercules note can be received by passing a Final exam in a combat tutorial. Hercules note can also be received in Epic events This is not rmt

Proposal to change encyclopedias
admin replied to z4ys's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Hard choices in upgrades and setup. If you want to upgrade guns you have to pick one, reload or ammo or sights etc, but all of those choices will be good (given you get the right upgrades from drops or from admiralty).- 40 replies

Proposal to change encyclopedias
admin replied to z4ys's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
One group of upgrades give too much bonuses to the base stat Another group of upgrades give meaningless bonuses to the base stat. Harmonization will do the following Abstract example (numbers are for the illustration purposes only). If you can buff reload by 30% you should be able to buff penetration by 30% as well, to give a meaningful choice between reload and penetration. If you can buff repairs by 30% you should be able to buff HP or Thickness by 30% instead.- 40 replies

Proposal to change encyclopedias
admin replied to z4ys's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Upgrades and books are being revamped. This change will get in with the port UI update. All books and Upgrades will be split into logical groups, based on their use. Player will only be able to install / use 1 upgrade from the group. Bonuses will be readjusted and harmonized- 40 replies

PvP marks and the seals
admin replied to Old Crusty's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Patrols already give this safety pill somewhat. You get rewarded if you do damage and dont need to win. If we do this in battle - then it will breed a lot of exploits that are impossible to close. Remember how it all started? You could attack anyone, you could turn a pirate, you could enter everyone battle or port battle, you could announce your intentions and start PB by placing a flag. It all went down the drain because not all use features the way they were intended in good faith. -
The problem is that Economy patch already requires new item templates for crafting (new resources). So we will either have to accept the fact that old template will look extremely ugly with new blueprints OR economy patch will have to wait until the port patch (otherwise we will have to code templates twice (in old ui and in new ui).

There will be a timezone based clan leaderboard on various activities so a new player can pick a clan to his liking.
-
There will be tutorial operation (a set of actions required to unlock all other missions). One of the steps required to complete the operation will be to join a clan.

Update 9th July 2018 Fixed the fonts in ship auction, store interface and contract interface that hid zeroes from the price (they were present in confirmation screens but people still made mistakes)

How to stern rake consistently?
admin replied to Sang Noir's question in Feature proposals and Gameplay Help Q&A
This is an old image (crew colliders are slightly wider now). But it can help understanding how to increase raking damage. Crew (green box) goes from stern to bow. On each deck and on the star and port sides. To maximize damage you need to time your practice timing the broadside start and your speed. For example if you look at the image - if your shots all fly into green boxes on the left - you will deliver more damage. watch the angle of target and your guns TLDR Basically shoot where guns are, parallel to enemy deck Its not simple and still would feel random (due to pitching and rolling). -
Enable Full Pay to Win
admin replied to Jean Ribault's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
We are planning to buff 6th rates to give more alternatives to players (this is long overdue and was planned loooong time ago). It was promised to be delivered last week but got delayed due the fact that we want to finish the economy and upgrade rebalance asap. We tied the cool downs to crafting time. We would like to remind everyone one thing. A lot of players will still chose imported ships for one and only reason - you don't need to craft them you can have them the way you want right away. If imported Diana frigate has same stats as Essex (exact same stats) - people will choose Diana just because its convenient. Premium ships (imported ships) is an experiment and we need to run it for longer to understand long term consequences before either abandoning the idea for new imported vessels OR adding new imported ships to the existing line up. And here comes the question to everyone. Some say here that port battles are full of those ships. Would you prefer active shallow port battles full of imported ships, which are convenient, fun and maybe give some advantage in crafting to empty port battles? -
Topic locked for further review. Thanks for the report. TKs are not allowed in this game, but we will review the logs first before making the decision. The side that sank your ship can compensate your vessel and lost upgrades to mitigate the situation before the review is complete, or come to other mutually acceptable resolution.
