  1. Regarding port battle influence - issue will be fixed first (and will have a real working solution) BR should be a reflection of power Depth should allow or deny entry If rattlesnake heavy is 80 BR and le requin is 160-180 BR (with adjustments of other ships as well) then captains will actually have a proper choice for port battles, and might pick 2 rattlesnakes instead.
  2. The problem with chasers is that some ships are modelled without the bow ports according to the blueprints. And it will require quite an effort to rework the systems to provide bow/stern chaser opportunities on all ships. Once we clear priorities out we can come back to this.
  3. XP is given for damage - there is no bonus or penalty for sinking. Money is a different story - we still try to hold on to the old privateer saying "no prey no pay"
  4. XP for fighting indeed returned - thanks for that fight on the forum. We were somewhat blindsided by unnecessary hardcordness.
  5. Ranks will be rebalanced slightly in the next 1-2 patches New ranks will also be added on release.
  6. Every line of the code requires time and we being a small indie team cannot focus on everything. The greatest suggestion was and is to finish the port UI, localize the game, try to bring more PVE content and bring more adrenaline to PVP. This will freshen up the game, bring new users (who hold on because of lack of their language). As a result a lot of times users might feel that their suggestions are not acknowledged or ignored. Community should help us convey the information on priorities to them and explain that priorities must be finished first before starting work on something else.
  7. It was good they were added in EA. 2 DLC ships has not yet settled fully indeed. But they will be good for the game if they work and settle.
  8. no information on this besides previously stated.
  9. Of course But a lot bigger percentage registers on forum to post something they want to be improved or changed (or negatively react to something). Almost zero posts first posts just saying thank you or great game or such... This is universal across game companies.
  10. It's a known fact that disproportional amount of happy players do not read the forums . People come to the forums with problems.
  11. Also rear admirals were always assigned servants, boys and adjutants. Traveling with the posse will cost more money for the rear admiral as more cabins are needed even if they travel 2 per hammock cabin.
  12. We suggest that you wait for the patch and see things in action. You should only try to make sense of the main posts we make; comments do not give all facts or details, and thus might not make sense for those who dont have all the information. We do not plan to stop casually conversing with the community. Thus its better to take only our main posts seriously, and take our comments casually.
  13. Low population numbers at sea are accentuated by a number of outposts and teleports. So called happier times of 2016 with lots of players at sea were when there was a long cooldown on fast travel.
  14. 1 - No. its not a burden on new players as prices will scale, and data shows that casual players do not fast travel much. But even if it is a burden. Do you remember the price of upgrading fast flying travel in casual WOW? 5000 gold base price 4000 with exalted reputation? (basic flying was very expensive too during and depended on level) around 250 gold to unlock. You just dont like the cost for fast travel, and it is YOUR respected opinion. 2 - Contracts fix will take a long time and will detract from development of key priorities. You don't understand this maybe but its ok. The main reason for this different view is that you think contracts are more important because you are ok with user interface. Prices and/or cooldowns for travel are already in the game for quite a while. Cooldowns were even on public on release. They dont require work. 3 - same priority issue here. Customer reps are not needed at this stage because everyone knows what needs to be done first. Everyone knows user interface and localization is N1 priority for getting new players and enabling marketing. Their (CR) work will be wasted until localization is deployed. After that we will start inviting them. Anyways We have seen such reactions before with crew costs. Nothing new. You hire crew after every battle. Some time ago you did not.
  15. LOL NO.. thats a promise. There will be no free teleport between outposts DLC. Ever.
  16. New players will consider the cost for transport a normal just like they accepted the cost of crew (there were a LOT OF negativity from some veterans when ports started to charge for crew)
  17. Some changes wont be announced until they are in game.
  18. Actually you are incorrect. Captains rarely sank with ships or swam and were mostly captured or died. Realism would be deleting the account on death or forcing you to sit in jail for 3-5 real days (taking into account short day night cycle)
  19. Contract wars will happen less. You don't know everything.
  20. It is true of course. A lot of features were proposed by players. A lot of features were tuned based on player feedback. But many features come from us directly without listening to anyone. I designed the yard management in a bar in Newcastle during a storm on a napkin after coming back from trincomalee frigate. No-one was whispering anything to my ears. One of the best features of the game. Ports provide services - ports charge for services. happens in all games. Its free now because it was free from the start for testing. We understand that you are upset.
  21. You are blowing the transportation services out of proportion. Again. you don't know the design and cost and are jumping to conclusions. Also - please stop exaggerating. Like you do with printing money by selling imported ships. How much money can you print? 25k per day? Are you seriously calling this a economic hole? Are you really making this statement? You make more in a basic cutter mission.
  22. Ehm.. Sorry. Developers design the game and take responsibility for it. No-one is whispering to us - don't worry. Ports will charge players for services. Transportation is a service. PS.. too many designers always ends up with Homer's car.
  23. Cant you board 100x NPC 5th rate and sell for even more gold?
  24. No.. How do you know how much low rank players will pay? Do you know how many times casual low rank players teleport per day? You dont even know prices and design and are already hating, in advance.
  25. Please do not hide meaning in phrases. Say it as it is. Say what you mean. "Hardcore players (especially those who operate in a group with friends (real people) or imaginary friends (additional steam accounts) will have advantage over casual players". Hardcore players have advantage over casual players in ALL games. But remember - there are no casual players in a full loot pvp game with minuscule protection zones which actually do not protect much. Everyone who sails anything above 80br is a hardcore player. If you meant that hardcore players will pay less for DP TP - then you are wrong. Charging fees for TP will charge hardcore players MORE, because casual players do not TP much especially on several accounts. But hardcore players with several steam account helpers TP a LOT more than 10 casual players combined.
