  1. I'm not a numbers person though. Pretty sure the shock nulls all bonuses in place except for barricades ( this one would make sense given it is not directly equiped on the crew like muskets or swords skill )
  2. Again it affects defense/attack and firepower, easy to follow the numbers, and IIRC the follow up action must be a Brace.
  3. Correct. Another effect I notice is the firepower goes down and down the more turns are spent in combat.
  4. Pretty sure morale has a bonus to attack/defense. Not only the base morale but also the shocked effect. Not sure but Lynx might do have the bonuses as well.
  5. Defender does as well. Onshore wind, keep hugging the shore no more rake passes or the dastards will get stuck in land. What makes land effective and spectacular is the timely use of wind and position in a timely fashion even on the defensive. You can leave attackers pinned against the land with a good defensive tackle.
  6. Any updates that directly interfere with player account stats directly are warrant a wipe. Many stats become obsolete and other new ones get implemented. Tus Devs will only wipe and implemente final versions once the systems have been tested. Rollback situation can happen.
  7. I remember seeing this same idea come up in some unrelated thread if I recall, with several UI sugestions. Makes all sense given the forest of masts and hulls in a port can be seen from distance.
  8. More captains demanding more crew, less average crew avaliable to hire overall. If there's less captains of course the offer is increased. Not more controlled territory.
  9. The very basis for this idea is: - Maintenance of the ships regarding crew was 4 times as much as the price of the ship. Do not go over that part and start thinking "repair kits style" things.
  10. Closest Friendly then, overlooked the interest that could be the last visited. Keep the 120 seconds logout timer then, but it doesn't work correctly ( glitch reported ) in undisclosed way. Was tested 3 times yesterday. But the 2,5 minutes could do, to block the ambushes sure, although it won't stop a fleet from setting up an attack out of the warp. There are a few more important urgente loopholes to close but can the cycle can be reviewed.
  11. In view of some glitches and exploits ( please do not comment on this ) during the Logout / Login cycles I come to suggest the following: ( also take into account that Port Battles method will change, so before you think about PB screens, read the appropriate thread about the proposed upcoming changes ( - no logout from the Battle Result Screen. ( not sure if this is even possible ) - Logout in the Open Sea not possible during the Invisibility / Invulnerability Period - Logout shortened to 60 seconds - Login always in one of these, whichever is better to implemente - Nearest Port ( friendly ) I understand there will be some personal issues with the fleets withdrawing from battles but I do not see it as a problem. The offensive failed so you will be harassed on the retreat. This will resolve many of the "loopholes" being enjoyed by some shady groups of individuals.
  12. A Lord must keep a bare minimum of pvp feats, pb results, etc to maintain his station. As well as we have Lordships presented in History as a basis we also have plenty of captains and admirals fallen into disgrace and stripped of rank and title.
  13. It is only uncappable ( is that even a word ? ) until someone does it. But given the History of the port, yes, one of the top challenges if it is modelled.

  14. They are, and not doubting of the 2:1 on flat case scenario but that never happens. The rounds were nicely played even if out of better knowledge of the Constitution captain. Puzzles me he ends the combat with so much preparation to spend. Ah well.
  15. That might be true with only the marines. Makes sense. Add all the other candy like barricades and proper musketry and they are worth more than 2 men. Marines on their own are okay but if anyone going to use them it makes sense to enhance their capability. They carry muskets already and give full prep.
  16. With the Officers addition to the game, why not indeed. A figure per Officer would be very nice. No need to overpopulate
  17. Yes I agree on that. Ships that never had space to have had them in that position, shouldn't have the option at all. I pointed out the moving guns from the side ports to a chaser post and this is where I must ask for consideration is, if the carriages I have equiped on the broadside would not fit ever the chaser position then they cannot be moved.
  18. Who knows. Maybe when Officers are implemented you get a Master with that specific skill !?! But even the devs themselves like the sensation of being lost when they go to new shores.
  19. Clan are meta so it becomes a null thing to even try to code in, but having a Lord or Lords establish a dedicated infrastructure in deteriment of a resources production setup could be worth a try. Would not increase the town pool of available crew but would increase the rate of crew, thus depleting the manpower faster in wartimes if needed. Now the Food thing can be used. Necessity of trading supplies - iberian meat, beer, wine - between ports that demand it to keep up with the "recruitment needs".
  20. I think many are forgeting the ( quite historical ) surrender way out to save the crew. Boils down yet to more options to the captain.
  21. I really enjoy these proposed changes. While I may be conflicted between the historical truth of the chasers and the gameplay side I must say that the former might be appropriate but with limitations on the size. So it bears down to the guns we equip for the deck if they become available to move to the positions and if so how much time it takes. Regarding the wind, it is worth testing as plain as you put it. We can then provide more feedback. Given it is the most vital thing in both OW and battle small changes and testing is the best way. Also, and connected to the wind, review the yard handling speeds. Some of the rigs are quite big and the sail canvas carry a lot of wind exerting a lot of strength but they turn as expedient as a sloop yard.
  22. A screenshot or two would be helpful at the very least.
  23. Ah ! There's more crafting than balls flying !! I knew it....
  24. There will be a Piracy/Privateering thread on its own. Let's wait for it and focus on the subject at hand. Salute.

  25. 3 minutes won't cut it. Bait will keep dragging you, as we saw yesterday in a undisclosed location with unamed nation folks. Glad their plot didn't. I advocate the "free teleport". Log back in the closest national/free port. Simple.
