  1. Actually it is a step towards the elimination of flags in the big update. Timers, yes, a rock in the way. Flags out of the game, best move yet with the open warfare it will become.

  3. Sure. To each its own. Twenty minutes is acceptable. Many runners will be able to keep entire battle length. What makes this possible ? Closure rates maybe ? A compromise is needed.
  4. Duel accepted. I defer the guns complement choice to you given we shall be using a Privateer. On the thread note, the 5 minutes for all its pros has some serious loopholes and that's why a compromise was introduced without resorting to over extended invulnerability timers. Both OW battle timer and OW invisibility/invulnerability timers are intimately connected.
  5. We had 5 minutes. During 4 minutes and 30 seconds you are 1v1 and you have the bigger ship. You going to cry HELP ? Suddenly 5 more warp in ( invisibility and invulnerability timer ) and battle closes and no one will help - Please donate your 1st rate to the cause, thank you. It was like this. NOW you pay attention to the surroundings and possibility for this to happen is way way way lower. Flotilla attacks will still happen.
  6. It does not require skill. It requires investment to backup the RNG odds. Two different things. Plus 1 single BP is not the make or break of a crafters guild for sure. Regarding a solo trader/crafter yes, it might break it but given the present economy it surely won't, but then the system is tailored with social production chain envisioned. I would enjoy to see a complete different system relying on hiring shipbuilders, engineers, etc - in a system similar to Officers and Crew. These Naval Architects would be specialists and would bring their own plans for ships.
  7. Sail damage was thoroughly tested during all the iterations of sea trials. No change needed especially towards more damage.
  8. Yeah. Still it is fun to waste 90 minutes of gankers on a 1v6, while they keep chasing and tagging now and then. Coffee, a book chapter, a dozen email exchanges and a sandwich later they finally realised how dumb they are trying to have such uneven fights. Had my share of fun away from the screen Have yet to think about a definite system but I agree on a damage amount over a period of time.
  9. The 5 minute timer made "invisible" ambushes so easy it was totally exploitable ...without anyone being able to help the poor dastard.

  12. Power is by - owned land - not only ports control. You can own land by pvp prowess in the open sea as well. How you going to control that mr. give power to clans only ? Sorry for the sarcasm, actually not at all. Lots of options and not limitative at all. Hell, even millionaire traders can get into bed with a lord and get some power. I fail to see what you perceive as an issue.... So you give power to clans which have individuals players, as clan leaders outside any game mechanics, as main power and decision ruling... well well... how about no ? - Give us the halfling !!! - If you want him, come and claim him. See the analogy ? Get those clanners to claim their power if they want it.
  13. The solution for the issue, at a definite level, lies down the development road so instead of going "fist on the table" towards we better keep play-testing. There has been far nastier mechanics abused before without anyone going "torches and pitchforks" on the Devs - yes, the battle hopping while invisible was extensively abused by nationals especially - and eventually things were fixed in good spirit.
  14. I would appreciate less generalization please. Blaming an entire "group" of players is a double edge blade and definitely shows a lot of your player-ego. There are excellent characters in all nations as much as there are condemnable ones so step back and have fun or timeout until things are as you wish for ( might be never! ). Regarding your wishes for the Black colour, my hope is your favourite colour gets double the love you wish ours. Salute.
  15. Also can be used to help newcomers in combat mechanics, controls and overall having a little sandbox to improve and exchange experience in a controlled enviroment. The added option of Duel on the right click menu on name is a must. Also the inclusion of ships listed for duels. I am sure the low numbers for duels are due to the lack of these.
  16. Hence why VPs, Victory Points, must be well designed, for both Lordship awards AND war victory conditions.
  17. You have reported it. You won't get any informal message if they get sanctioned. That's as far as it gets.
  18. Yes. I want crew morale so to batter enemy ships into submission. Would solve a ton of issues and make many look back to these way outs as "maybe they weren't so bad after all". *winks*

Added to Options - Gameplay or Social, whichever serves best. - Check box for Original Nation Name, unchecked for English name - Ranks - Selection box for favourite list ( RN, French, etc ), so we see other nations captains ranks appropriately in our UI or Keep Original as well. This would help a lot of players which seem to constantly mix up nation names. Also with Rank.
  20. You are projecting "your issues" with the game. There are many players that feel it is a game they want to stay and play. Not perfect but by the seven seas, it is a awesome game already at this early development. The shortcomings and odd end mechanics do not disrupt the fun of the fight in NA. Maybe fight the good fights instead of wanting to win all the time ( by all means ) will open your eyes.
