  1. I never remember loading my guns with dung, but hey to each its own. I wouldn't mind 1 more settings with only stays/courses unfurled along with the jib control
  2. Listen to this man. He is as smart as a dutchie goes and half as smart as a proper freebooter could be. Out of jokes it is indeed the perspective. Sometimes, just sometimes, a player or group of players is thrown into discomfort. This can be game mechanics, psychological or social, or simply the nature of the player not wanting to feel comfortable. And then players go try diferente ways of playing, diferente nations, diferente activities and test something diferente or the same old same old in a different manner.
  3. Toss the hobbit.... no no... hurl the hobbit by means of a onager or other appropriate mechanical device.
  4. Frigates in squadrons were still ( before this hotfix ) dominating singled-out SOLs but had to be much more aware of what they were doing, as they should be. The SOL could escape, sure and provoke overshots with horrible consequences for the frigate, as it should be.
  5. 1 clan, Sorry, versus Dutch (?), but it is incompatible due to prime time timezones.
  6. Maybe the Dread Fleet needs a new big enemy then. But I foresee issues with timezones not compatible. Same old same old.
  7. Looking forward to test some of the changes. Guess comfortable means - by historical records, captain's logs, combat reports all amassed into a intelligent way into game code. So yes, no doubt there, at Frigate, Sloop and Brig level the combat is gripingly good.
  8. Interesting. Pretty much as fast as my Oak, Rigging and Speed build mounting Carronades and the long fours as chasers. It is a interdiction brig-sloop and in no way is the Trinc better except being a heavy frigate so it is a personal preference, so comparing onions with cabbages. Despite all the lightness and handling the mainstay heavy transporter, the Les Gros Ventre, still manages to have a timely turn in a tighter course. Not that is bad that the Snake has it wider by a mere half ship but becomes slightly tricky when facing a well versed trader captain. Read this with a handful of salt as not every battle is the same and so far has been a 50/50 case. It is a great raider ship and certainly fills the gap between the lynx/privateer and the full brigs.
  9. Not yet. The arrogance of the kraken fleet is on the way but still remains shy when compared.
  10. Well... there's the more than classic Jack Swallow...
  11. Was trying to grape a few in battle yesterday. Failed miserably.
  12. While this is something that needs revieweing I would first wait to test the Wind system changes. And yes some ships have some abnormal attitudes on the turns.
  13. Best Long sail minigame is to jump a trader while he plays a Long Sail minigame.
  14. That was exactly what I was talking about. Territory is simply pearls in a string. Lytse, I miss the good talks but good folks are everywhere Might change nation again one of these days, like US or something.
  15. Dutch...smallest nation. Yes. Wasn't before the merge and surely isn't after the merge. Actually it was never a small one. What server are you on again ?...
  16. You can smuggle ready items. You can smuggle weapons ( carriages ). That's the entire point. Get in with the cargo, sell it to your "contact" and get off before anyone even noticed you are there.
  17. Reverting opinion. The crew loss should be proportionate with the durabilities. Such as 5 duras equals 20% shares ( of the ship crew, not rank crew ) per each, 4 25%, etc, or else the last dura will be simply disregarded all the time rendering the mechanic with no effect except for the first rates.
  18. Predominat Eastern winds. The way East would be through the Bahamas mainly ( yarrr and be open to carolina privateers !!!! ). We'd all stick to the Gulf of Mexico if real weather would be implemented unless we all using sloops and schooners.
  19. "There are no secret Islands. Or perhaps..." We all have seen it. The perhaps part is totally on the spot. There are mermaids there and you start losing crew fast as they jump off board crazed by their song.
  20. As a force mechanic yes I agree there must be some "shiny different things", but many pirates welcome the open mechanics to do their own appropriate gameplay and do their solo, couple ships, raiding on trade and live of booty without any concerns about politics. It is the same with nationals. Easy to put a war fleet out without the horrendous age of sail logistics being simulated. We will get there
  21. ahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa.... one of the best so far
