  1. Absolutely possible. Give game assets to "trusted" internet people. Recreate character.
  2. Fair enough if no paratrooper sailors show out of nowhere to refill the prize crew
  3. If you want war play a war game, any game !!! Welcome to the age of sail WARfare.
  4. I like the tone of the thread is War. So simple.
  5. They also had to prove themselves worth of station ( or buy themselves influence... ). No xp nor infinite pay in gold (!) They couldn't simply grind, they had to sail a lot in backwaters and regional patrols... Oh... and no safe zones given the amount of prizes the corsairs de france took inside enemy harbours
  6. Exactly. Ports have a big billboard saying "This port belongs to CLAN. If you have any issue, come and take it." No need to attack an entire nation when you can hit a clan belongings
  7. I can tell you, just out of my head, one major historical example where colonies were given to a foreign power without a fight and during Napoleonic wars - dutch to GB so it didn't come under french control. Given time I can find enough examples from 1670 to 1820 What makes a historical situation like that so different from what we see in game ?
  8. Question: - doesn't matter how many ports I am a Lord Protector of, I get 1 mark. Is this correct ?
  9. Port are paid from clan warehouse. Failing that they are paid from the clan owner bank. Failing that they go neutral.
  10. Looks good with only the following limits needed - Shallow and Deep ports - meaning hostility missions for Shallow can only be accessed by Shallow types and invaded by shallow types. Deep water ports are no limits of course. Rest looks good. Especially the Lord Protector.
  11. Then, if a clan "sells" ports to another nation that clan just has to take the ports back. Simple. No need for a "sourcebook: rebellions" in addition to a clear system. Lost them ? Take them back under you clan.
  12. Take a port, for use, on the other side of the world ?
  13. You already filled your quota, by the game rules. Rulebook states you need Fleet 2 to get that third ship.
  14. Restart then. Who elects a certain clan the "one true Nation" ?... Describe the mechanics, in detail, that permit such clan warfare to happen inside the basic game unit - nation.
  15. Fleet 1 allows to command an additional ship to the one you are sailing on. No need to sacrifice anything. It is 1 point.
  16. So the one strong clan can bully all the others because.... sssssstronger ... !?
  17. Been there. A fight that would be a challenging 3v1 turned into a 9v1. Quantity has a quality of its own, especially when it is free.
  18. They sail when there's a PB ? OR they sail consistently ? Not against the suggestion, just trying to work my head around the ... need more because... syndrome
  19. That's a whole lot different , there's open ports everywhere, just not the teleports. So what "we" miss is the teleports, not the ports. Rio Seco was taken by early Kingdom of Prussia to provide the lack of a "open" port in that coast. Coquibacoa was kept open by the Dane vikings as a good raider haven in the south. Maybe more "corsair" clans could do the same approach ? Note: to be honest, with the Reinforcement Zones, why the need of the freeports anyway... (in a sour mood) ... watching no less than 12 convoys of trade, each of 4 indiamans or assortment of trade vessels and not being able to touch is beyond disheartening. If it would be for the pvp alone why try to "experience the age of sail", i'd be playing some arena CS clone or something...
  20. You have open ports gracefully "donated" by the nations that conquered them. What you miss is a teleport there. Right !?
  21. Funny thing that the Jane and the Ranger, under Maynard are, reportedly, not having any carriages, just to state a more "popular" example. Sea Fox presents - "rage boarder have fast ships that are modded up for boarding". This is not far from the realities of sea roving, which did not rely on firepower to batter enemy into submission. Not so much of a Navy which relied on gunnery much more heavily. Alas we do not follow such distinction, our "career paths" are diluted hence we can act all types in one.
  22. You can search for both I posted already.
