  1. This is a recurrent theme and one can use the Lighthouse suggestions below Please, use the SEARCH function http://forum.game-labs.net/topic/14987-the-biggest-friend-of-the-trader-at-night http://forum.game-labs.net/topic/10757-light-houses-and-stars http://forum.game-labs.net/topic/10242-the-importance-of-lighthouses http://forum.game-labs.net/topic/6639-lighthouses http://forum.game-labs.net/topic/6002-lighthouses closed as duplicate
  2. Reminder to everyone: You can only reply to tribunal threads if you are: -The reported -The reporter -Someone with additional proof and/or information. Posts that are off topic will be removed without hesitation.
  3. Closed for review. as per http://forum.game-labs.net/topic/12611-tribunal-reform/ You can only reply to tribunal threads if you are: -The reported -The reporter -Someone with additional proof and/or information. It is essential that any claims made are backed up with evidence. Tribunals are a serious matter so try to document the claim with as detailed information as possible. Screenshots, chat logs, or best case video are most welcome. In time, either a moderator or a dev will jump by and address the topic. Keep in mind that it may take some time to generate a (final) ruling. Posts that are off topic will be removed without hesitation.
  4. quoting "evidence is delivered by a F11 report"
  5. Captains, Tribunal cases require comments from Offenders or Offended only or anyone with factual proof ( videos, screenshots, reports, etc ) to add to this specific case.
  6. @Teutonic No circles no land. ( system requires it for positioning ) Land Ho! was the best thing in OW, leeway was the second. One was "hammered" so much it is barely noticeable, please do not remove the other one. Solution is to return to he BIG circle.
  7. Solution - Missions generated positions ( 3 positions ) will stay the same through the day until they are done ( even removed and try new mission generation will yield same result ) and new missions taken.
  8. Ah, got it. We had no marks in the past. Didn't stop anyone from sinking anyone. Why would a "get no marks" situation change anything ? It is the enemy, it must be sunk But I get your point.
  9. Where does the ship BR enters in this system ? A "pro" in a schooner will not be able to engage a "newcomer" in a Trinc ?
  10. Given the machine doesn't read faces nor hearts - aka. doesn't know who is a pro pvper or not - we would need a clean slate wipe so we all start from zero given that Naval rank is meaningless !? Or am I misunderstanding the proposed mechanic ?
  11. Akin to deflection shooting in a air combat sim. Don't see anything wrong. But you have a fair point as many testers did "rebel" against missed broadsides - crew was smart enough to see the wave coming, was the obvious reasoning.
  12. The machine is blind and asks - Who are you to think you are not "some random dude" ? We are all "some random dude" to the machine, no matter how much we wish we weren't.
  13. "We" did cry - Too much logistics needed!
  14. Less Port Action ( La Tortue syndrome ). More Sailing. Please.
  15. Agreed. Post naval academy ( Tutorials ) the Brig should be the first station of the captain. He can drop it for a for-aft rig if he/she wishes. It has nothing to do with the amount of guns. Sloops and Schooners are "specialized" ships.
  16. *crickets* Ignorance is not a blessing. It is blindness, in this case voluntary, and Innocence surely is a bliss.
  17. Impossible Nations need to carve their presence in the Caribbean. Nothing is "given" to them. Admiralty in Free Ports would defeat the entire purpose. And yes, newcomers need content as much as anyone.
  18. I think it benefits everyone if we use proper age of sail names. Sorry for this Tac but, - Kingdom of Prussia is not the Reich. Is century before Bismarck and definitely nothing to do with your black with silver lining uniform addiction. ( nazi punks hello kitty off ). Prussians is perfect. - Russian Empire is not the Union of Socialist Soviet Republics. Easier to say Tsar Fleet or Tsarists. No confusion there in a age of sail environment. - Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania. The name of the nation even says it. Commonwealth. Not Poland. It becomes easy to avoid any cultural misunderstandings. Sorry again.
  19. I get what you mean. But the Kingdom of Northern Prussia was definitely not the large player base when Green Cay - Shroud Cay lifeline was established. I reckon the Russian Empire and Kingdom of Southern Prussia had way more players. Pretty sure they even had more than Commonwealth at a point. I know the sandbox liberty plays this way and the temptation is great to carve a "safe zone" but why overlook a step stone like a Admiralty in the Bahamas ? But sorry, I am diverting from mechanics discussion. Do the Impossible Nations work ? Definitely they do. The descriptions say - the nation must prove worthy of being in the Caribbean. And being PvP oriented you know what that means. But the problem is it became the focal point for many newcomers and not pvp adepts. Some sort of implosions can happen and if a PvP nation is not strong enough it will be steamrolled back to free ports
  20. The difference between Normal and Impossible nations is: - no ports that are not conquerable - no safe zones - starting position is not capital What Impossible nations were never intended to be was ( as I seem to read so much ): - a place to attack everyone, including own nation ( outlaw )
  21. It is after you have some feet wet. And no better place than the Bahamas hence why the first objective of any impossible-pvp nation, in my opinion, is to create a Admiralty near Shroud. Why only one did ? It would be a more welcoming scenario to all newcomers that join a Impossible nation than telling them to sail to Bermuda or to Panama. I am not against the mechanic, I love it. I am just intrigued why the new nations decided ( at the start of it all ) to focus on far lands rather than on the obvious starting spot.
