A video or image screenshot would be helpful as all visual elements, as you saw them, would be displayed: - names of players - ships - user interface ( hp bars etc ) Also, did you report bug ? F11 key and submit. Many thanks. -
Al'right. Suggestion is made, Devs surely take a look Thought a discussion was open to diverging points of view. Guess not. In your case. We are not judging the suggestion, we are giving opening for the proposed system to work differently. I like the idea of chances of failing the grappling, sure. So cut me some slack. Enjoy your monologues.

I didn't touch PvP a single line in the entire suggestion. Plus finding bottles is totally random and unpredictable. All it takes is sailing with the Fishing button turned on. It is a Bonus thing. But thank you for you point of view, it brings angles that can go uncheked.

Having the possibility of: - come upon a wreck - retrieve part of cargo Ensures that the sailing done by new cadets ( truly newcomers ) is met with surprise encounter -and- partial success on retrieving part of the cargo. He might want to return after to get the rest.

Full sails Depower anchoring close hauled is also ridiculous and laughable but "everyone" seems to enjoy it, given there's barely a feel of leeway to put the ship downwind again, so there's not even the need to ram and push to the eye of the wind.

Present rulebook states, in relation to Empty Bottles: - to find Empty Bottles, captain must enable Fishing, by use of the Fish button - Use of a Empty Bottle will reveal the exact location of a ship wreck - only one Empty Bottle Wreck can be active at any given time per player - wreck contains a unknown weight in cargo, to be retrieved of: gold coins, materials for refits, a book/refit, resource/trade good - retrieving the wreck cargo requires the entire weight to be transported - all or nothing gameplay - only that player sees the wreck, no one else ---- My suggestions to change Empty Bottle Wrecks mechanic: - as soon as Empty Bottle is used the~wreck spawns - player-user knows the exact location of the wreck - marker in his own map - Wreck model ( not location ) is visible and accessible by anyone in the OW - the same way as the Treasure Fleet wrecks - if they happen to pass by in the area. - any player can Explore the wreck and take just part of items or all items, at player discretion - empty wrecks ( all the cargo taken ) disappear from the world immediately - Mark disappears from map if it gets emptied - wrecks with some items left stay on the world until the next maintenance. they are de-spawn on maintenance. Pros: - chance encounter with shipwrecks Keeping eyes open during a sail can get rewarded. Discourage AFK sailing - urgency of retrieval of the (unknown) goods - bottle user knows location, but others may pass by it if player waits too long... Cons: - it is no longer a individual player mechanic - might provide more reasons for players to quit - any type of ship can access - no more "All or nothing"

A timer to submit 3 moves sequence - hidden. Then it plays out. Rinse and repeat. You gave orders to your men, they engage, you cease to have control and micromanagement.

You are correct. Was not a dissatisfaction of the suggestion. But... Boarding Axes simulate it in our abstraction - you have 2 turns to cut all cables. Your crew has no damn clue where the grapples going to fall. They have to move to the locations. Further... If it can be improved !? 100% with you. My opinion is - at the expense of the "always at full sail wind and turn and burn" - which never happened.

Advance half mast ahead of the enemy vessel... then setup quarter deck and upper rigging graple crew...Mess up with enemy rig ...Hook lines, pull, watch their yards turn, their trim becoming messed up. Snipe the helmsman ( 7 in a row even on occasion ). Reality is way more complex that what we have in game ... If you think not just think .... We battle at full sails 90% of the time. We sharp corner the wind at full tops... I suggest that to be looked at before any complexity to "initiate boarding actions" is recoded.

...okaaaay... this suggestion is as old as NA But regarding gamer machine processing power... Gimme more code that simulates wind variation rather than flashy gizmos. Gimme realistic outcomes of rigging during battle and in wind - blocks and lines being cut, masts unsupported from shrouds - than the eye candy sugar that is meaningless in the combat simulation.
