To whom ? Only the Nations involved in that specific Conquest event or everyone that comes to the picnic ? -
Screening fleets
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Lovec1990's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
That's the rulebook we have it is all set piece battles. Unless all the mish mash will want to make a "baby PB" versus the enemy main PB fleet and call it screening. All good, I don't mind. Just trying to work my mind around the way the Conquest campaigns are ruled and the screening is OW engagements, not really connected to anything but simple tactical disposition and delay tactics, or not if you bring a proper grand fleet to engage the enemy in the high seas. In that case every captain will have pvp marks, xp, cash and denial of the enemy plans... or die trying. -
I suggest everyone to use the correct in game name of the nation so there's no misunderstandings from both human eyes and web robots.

Another Set Piece battle ? I mean, the defender PB fleet would simply be the one joining that battle, and that would be the PB. There will be no screeners. -
Duellist Perk
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Hethwill, the Red Duke's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Duellist perk ensures the player cannot drag anyone not a duellist into 1v1. He must be tagged for that to happen. It is written in the opening post.- 32 replies

Duellist Perk
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Hethwill, the Red Duke's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Hunting squadrons do it often with friends from other nations already, as a insurance policy. Was, in one case, once dragged into that situation without notice. Felt dirty as f.... in all honesty.- 32 replies

Duellist Perk
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Hethwill, the Red Duke's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I get your point Archaos and it is entirely fair. You and your buddy will have to wait 90 minutes inside the duel instance or othey have to kill each other to end it faster, if it is equal to Patrol Zone combat rules.- 32 replies

No. I'd say Patrol Zone method. Two go in, 1 comes out. Is that acceptable ?- 32 replies

Duellist Perk
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Hethwill, the Red Duke's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Nothing. Gets surprised and sucked into a 1v1 with a same rate ship. Not different from a OW ambush with a bait ship and suddenly getting ganked. But I understand majority people might avoid attacking each other al'together due to 1v1 ?! dunno...- 32 replies

Duellist Perk
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Hethwill, the Red Duke's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
I notice a gap in the system. So... - Duellists can see each other's info ( small flag UI for example, or added text in info box ) and can attack each other to a 1v1- 32 replies

Duellist Perk
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Hethwill, the Red Duke's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
1v1, similar to patrol zone roe as fleet ships are not dragged in. no info other than the normal Clerk announcement. in a sense they shouldn't even have anything to make them stand out. If they get tagged, well, a 1v1 of equal rates happens.- 32 replies

Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Lovec1990's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Exactly, but this is already in place and that's how it works , without any added benefit given the game doesn't know if you are just there in the OW or if you are there for a purpose. Machine is blind to human concerns. -
To present a valid option to a sect of the playerbase than loves the game for the duel ( mainly frigates, master and commander style ) I suggest the inclusion of a Duellist Perk. - costs 10 points - enables 1v1 always, automatic closes battle ( no countdown, immediate start on tag ) in the following conditions: player is tagged player is not tagger both ships are same navy rate eg. 5th rates - player cannot be tagged by different rated ships - Duellists can see each other's info ( small flag UI for example, or added text in info box ) and can attack each other to a 1v1 - Patrol Zone combat - 90 minutes, no escape. - no ship capture. Only sinking for Battle Over. - warships only. Trader models not affected. Pros: - duels ! Cons: - Spies in frigates

Reinforcement fleets: feedback
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to admin's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Sorry for the OT, and sarcasm, but them animal farm elites said, in several other threads that the mods weren't necessary and they could play without them. So this... rampant pricing really bugs me... Carry on, just thinking aloud. o7 -

They do. They get a new port to use or defend one that has their belongings. At the same time they might gets some xp, cash and eventually marks. Oh, and ego ammo, always good for the forums. 😎 -
I will close this until a recording is provided for better illustration of what is being written - and is a Suggestion to a non-existent problem. Cetric, or anyone else, do poke me when you come across this situation recorded. Rulebook states: - Exiting game from the Open World travel mode will last 120 seconds exactly. Ship will drop anchor, furl full sails. - Player can Wait or Exit Now. Difference is - waiting gives opportunity to cancel. Exit now is self explanatory. On both cases there's 120 seconds countdown. - Player can exit game from instance. In that case the ship will remain in battle for a time, completely stopped and then be ejected to the OW where it will remain for additional time.

Screening fleets
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Lovec1990's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Maybe all battles in the area ( each port has a circle area around them )regarding the Port under attack should become "Patrol Zone" RoE. Commitment of forces in earnest in screening. In truth the Grand Fleet would just keep course towards the port and enter battle, shrugging off the frigates "keeping them tagged". -
Thank you. Without hard evidence it become conjecture. On this vein, If i'm not mistaken both major GPU supplies, AMD and NVidia have a fast track kind of thing imbued in their softwares to record say like the last 15 seconds or so, just for fast replay function. This is an excellent tool to keep at hand when testing games. At the press of a key the last XX seconds are stored in movie format.

Any video of this occurrence ? Draw distance has its own technical limitations. There's no "earth curvature" so ships will pop out when beyond the visual limit which is not that tremendously far away.

Reinforcement fleets: feedback
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to admin's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Weekend, Post Maintenance period Numbers rising quickly, traders rush to the first produce hours, and the predators are out. First bounce, a brig model, just SE of Mortimer Town, not far from the coast. Wind is offshore so I get the cut intercepting towards the NW and deny the escape route. At the same time I spot a french frigate coming from the SW bound to NE. Brig makes haste to the Green Zone seeing all chances of a course to both Mortimer or Islet cut he decides to take advantage of the reinforcements. Tag is on, privateer and endymion versus a unarmed trader brig, commanded by gallant Mr_Green ( sorry if i forget something out of your handle ). Reinforcements are called for. A Privateer and a Renomee spawn. In paper a no big deal for the raiders, except the trader captain kept his cool and did everything possible to stay with the reinforcements and beyond, keeping the AI between the assailants and himself. Turning and weaving as the wind shifted he did not manage to survive such a uneven match. In the end the Trade Brig sunk. The Privateer retreated to lick the wounds, being severely damaged from broadsides from the AI Renomee. More astonishing is that the Endymion did sink. So, such a anecdotal example can, or not, be dismissed as being the exception, but in truth the player took full advantage of the zone. Called in reinforcements, gained time to have other players to join in ( didn't happen though ) and kept a cool head by sticking with the AI. Had he had any guns the entire result may have been different. 1. Call reinforcements. They are essential to keep enemy in as a rescue squadron is assembled. Use Nation chat. 2. Stick to the AI. You are going to be damaged anyway, and running downwind is a sure way to get separated from the help you just summoned and getting killed alone. Snappy salute. -
Yep Vazco, witch hunt. The discussion goes in circles, there's always someone else to blame So why not string them up huh !?

I think Admin gave the idea. Keep major military stuff out of general chats. Use clans comms. Rest of the stuff, have to accept the fact that spies are reading. What they gona do ? Send ships to hunt ? Hell, bring it.
