You're not wrong. You'll learn to love me, tho.

Lol, brutal honesty. Is emotional impulsiveness a manly virtue now?

So, you're inviting anyone to come trading in the middle of RTS and BF bitch slapping each other? Sounds like a safe environment

Is anything being done to stop players blocking resource contracts?

So much this. When I found out (or thought… I'm slow) that my alts were useless I thought it was great. That had to be a major step in the right direction in my mind, it seemed to be a more fair playing field with less potential for the few (like me) to just buy an advantage for money. I'm not sure I quite understand the reason for super-rare stuff, like copper plating or elite rigs, in this game. I'm told it's a thing for PVE grinders; some kind of carrot they get off on grinding out then to enjoy the satisfaction of having better fighting equipment than normal people. If they don't have super-duper stuff to work towards they go into a gaming-existential crisis that makes them whine about "moar kontent!" or quitting because there is no princess in the castle. If the above is kinda how it goes I guess it's a valid(ish) feature. Whatever the true reason is; Are we sure it does more good than harm (for most players, most of the time)? I presume it's extremely hard to get rid of grey-area exploits and everything related as long as we deliberately keep something everyone wants away from them. (In tanks you can fully pimp a mid-level vehicle within days and a tier 8-10 vehicle topped off within weeks. Then you can grind crews for months or years yet never boost the overall fighting capabilities more than 2.5%. And NEVER can you boost speed, which is more important in OW than in tanks.) Isn't wealth, paints, flags, pennants, custom names or any other non-fighting gear goals enough for the PVE grind-mind? -

I was one of the three main eco guys in Rakers. I'm working an inside job. <Shouting into megaphone> "Do you want the eco guys' clammy hands on your fun bits?!" -

Let eco players go full on dog-eats-dog with trade goods, but let anything related to fighting equipment be impossible for eco guys to ruin. -
As far as ships go, it's never been easier than now. Ships and the great crafting system is completely eclipsed by upgrades, refits and rng loot and shop drops. We've had that in some form since release of OW, I wish we could change that and take fighting equipment out of the hands of the inconsiderate fat-cats. May they choke on their Russian sail duck and Cheshire Cheese! Vive la révolution!

Ah, the joys of eco features... "We want player driven economy!" Devs do that and at the drop of the ball players starts scumbagging. I haven't had any use for my subversive eco alts since fine woods. Should I dust them off or is fix imminent? I try to keep up but I'm probably too nice too keep up with the shamelessness my eco competitors bask in. Now, where did I put all those forged papers?... -
I need an adult...

Just to be perfectly clear: I don't mind the temporary UI. You can make UI as pretty as you like when you get around to it. I'm not gonna sit here and bitch about such things. The "lel" was directed at the annoying way he said: "Look, this is nice, could we have pretty colors too?"

lel This has been a thing in wot for a few years.

Updated the top part of OP.

For the questionable benefit of others I will repeat myself. Since I expect to mainly be playing legends with a side-show presence in OW; I'd love to be able to purchase premium ships in OW. I really like the new ships for notes thing, and premium ships could be like that only supercharged. I could go out in ships and not even have to grind bots for marks. Perfect. I could avoid gameplay that I subjectively dislike and be free to engage in what I subjectively actually enjoy. I have more money than sense; abuse me! <stacks up "Barricades", selects "Determined defender" and clicks "Brace">

Ye, which really means they shoot chain.

That reads 75 marines among the 140 remaining crew, unless something buggy is afoot here. Even 75 marines sounds buggy to me, but maybe some of these mission bots can get crazy (bug) marines count? Did you have marines or other boarding skills? Did you click muskets and deck guns then optionally muskets again and waited for bot to stay in brace, or did you go for attack and let him switch to defense? If you did everything right but still lost due to his insane melee power; next time you find such a bot you can just open a can of beer and range attack him slowly to keep his melee bonus out of play (provided your crew is bigger than his). TLDR; need more info, screenshots or YT vids are great to enable us to help you better.

It's so tempting to make prince fast downwind since it has that big foremast rig. Then you would have just that.

Ruined is a strong word, but I agree. I have a shop in CS and have been supplying (in my head) startup players with very cheap guns making a small but steady profit. It's been mostly me and Cornelis Tromp who has supplied randoms with guns. Now with the slashed building output I can't meet the demand nor make a small living. I've had to up the prices to compensate for the reduced volume, not the end of the world but a bit sad for "Righteous Knight of the newbies". I look at it as an unintended side effect of the recent changes. Poor new guys, solo players and would-be PvP'ers. Get with the bot grinding program or GTFO.

Hmm... You still think ships are expensive? I've pushed the plate away because of super-rare upgrades and skill books that only big-time PVE grinders get. It's a long time since we wondered why PvP is rare; OW is a PvE fest. Just look at all the remarks about how trivial it is to grind money now. People don't even blink at the idea of serial grinding bots.
