It's been like this since shortly after Early Access release. When I afk-sailed with my alt during the rare fine woods patch I used TinyTask to keep the 4 hour session alive. Haven't had the need for it lately, but now we have new rare stuff in the game so I might find a use for both my alts and TinyTask

No, but I want them to feel it is realistically attainable. I happen to think WoW and EvE are very unattractive games because they have absolutely no potential for skill based fighting, only level and grind based. Wait! Are we going to cater to people who are halfway out the door anyway? Wouldn't it be more efficient to focus on people who enjoy the core OW activities (RvR, OW PvP, trading...) instead of artificially prolong grinds or hide stuff like this game is a goddamn easter egg hunt?

I admit I know little about this. It is very far from the things that attract me to a game and definitely diametrically opposed to what keeps me hooked. Maybe I and the other people I know who used to play this regularly are in such a minority it wouldn't matter? Maybe it's best to keep this raid boss rng loot coupled with domination and control from economic power and big group cooperation? It makes me want to scream...

It's all good! Not a thing for casuals, tho. You and me have no real limits in this game. The rich and organized can dominate some or most areas of the game, my broken record is: Why must fighting equipment and especially the really good upgrades be reserved for the elite? I challenge this thinking even if it's ingrained in sandbox mechanics.

Yet I sit here with a few millions after selling cheap guns since wipe. So, either get with bot grinding, prolly some trade goods or join a big and preferably winning clan. Tell me more about the vision for casual players and their incentive to go risking stuff facing super rich and, more importantly, super fitted captains...

Sure, but then whose gameplay or fun is threatened by easy access Wasa? ___________ I posted this a while back: It is meant to be taken lightly, but there is weight to it. Admiralty note ships is a tiny respite from the mandatory PVE/eco yoke. OW gameplay is weighted heavily in favor of PVE/eco players so I object when even the smallest escape from eco oppression receives flak.

First, why is it a problem that people are able to access a good ship easily? Crafters, crafters I know... That a few ships are available via the admiralty only gives crafters the opportunity to focus on shitting out ships only they can make. Those who don't want to get into crafting are happy and role-players living the career dream are happy. I visited EU global chat last evening and if I am to believe the people there PvP has had a boost with the easy access to good ships. I'm sceptical about the stance that more PvP is somehow bad because "it doesn't matter" due to losses being replaced too easily. Is this really an issue or are we riding a principle here, regardless? Besides, the ships themselves are just the halfway house. It's fairly easy to get ships whatever method you pick. It's the rigs and upgrades that the big time economy is really about, as shown by the recent tar "scandal". I want to do something about that as well but I'll keep this post about one issue.

Because a lot of players asked them to. Your estimation is too low. I've watched the back-and-forth on "we need reasons for RvR" for a long time now. Isn't controlling ports with sought after resources a really good reason to fight? What if the devs met the player demand for a certain item? Can't anyone just go capture that port and jump on the gravy train?

Must have missed that, do tell.

If we love the true sandbox environment we have to embrace ganking.

Is anything being done to stop players blocking resource contracts?

So tar was put in shop (wherever they're fighting over that). But *cough* swedes are left standing with their dicks swinging waiting for Grietje... edit: Notice how the seller is avoiding doing the 1 item contract for a million billion thing; "Naw, naw, it's a legit contract! I had a few and know they're sought after. Pfft! Scumbag? Me?... Never!" -
