  1. You may be right, I don't remember what was said about "the first one" or not.
  2. As far as I can remember all leak changes were talked about, though I don't remember if every leaks change made it into the official patch notes.
  3. Sigh, I know. I know many minor changes weren't communicated with us in detail, I just never expected it, I was just pleased to see that the devs were talking to us here. Besides, there is the extra work, especially with a small team, to dedicate time to document EVERYTHING to guys like us who don't really test anything but are more concerned by using exploits. Notice I said "use" and not "indentify". (Ok, that was a bit too pointed, mebbe?)
  4. Did that frustrate you? Name one significant change that was ninja'd in with no notice.
  5. How can they communicate more with us? What are you referring to, specifically? I ask because I never experienced this problem.
  6. gotcha. ____________________________ Now that we think back on the fun aspects of RvR from before... I clearly remember guys saying it was broken and needed to change. It could be the "it must matter!" guys that complained while many others were having fun with big fights? How does this all sum up for you guys? (I don't ask to be an asshole, it is an honest question from someone who never gave RvR any serious thought or care)
  7. Sure, but... Are you telling me to ramp it up?! Also, not entirely sure I get what you mean...
  8. Ye, ye, blame it on me, why don't ya! How can it ever be different? You test with those that show up.
  9. Heh, I discovered that in different game thirteen years ago. People's mileage vary so wildly it's not even funny.
  10. We need more information.
  11. heh, having experienced the... progressively increasing freedom I'm begging to be confined in the terribly restrictive navy. Hello! What happened to Jack when he was kicked off the navy list?! We don't have a friend like Stephen to pay our way. Oh, wait... @maturin... you there?
  12. Guilty-pleasure-super-edgy Sorry, not sorry. And now, serious face: I remember the idea of the privateer career parallel to the naval career was put forth as ways of playing this game. I just can't remember why the naval career path was cancelled, and I do think I pay attention to the goins on in here. Anyone know or remember? I mean, I can guess that it has something to do with the economy being offended by it. I may be naive, but I'm frantically looking for ways to avoid the eco time sink and the faint memory of the naval career popped up.
  13. Don't forget to include mod cost like you did in that other post, it makes me feel so much better. We can't pretend almost none of the new guys are competitive, right?
  14. It's not vets we should worry about, mainly. Besides, you lecturing us about how cheap you think it is and others telling us to just cap a ship and confidently go to fight won't change a thing. Getting cash is super, duper easy but also as boring (dare I say: for most players?). I talked to one of our vets a few weeks ago. He had gone out for PvP out of spite, so I guess it's safe to say he turned off his risk assessment (imagine like a noob happily going out to shoot at ships). He's one of our better players but he went broke and went on to break his clan's bank as well. All good fun and an almost useless anecdote. I think it still serves to illustrate that PvP is expensive (paid in utter boredom) unless you fight like an idiot: in capped ship, med guns, no mods and thus at quite a disadvantage. We can't really tell new guys to fight in gimped equipment, none of them are here to listen to our motivational speech anyway. Clanning up, grouping up and ganking in crap equipment is also a very double edged sword. There are many small things we can do that hopefully combined can make a change in player psychology. Prater recently wrote with unabashed positivity about how the cost can be adjusted and work, I was caught off guard and my heart fluttered with a tiny bit of hope. Please tell me it's gonna be ok.
  15. And they're right. You can PvP with anything... but effectively? I admit my motivation suffers terribly under the money, mark and loot drop grind for mods. It is a self inflicted pain because I want to fight smart and not stupid. How extremely diplomatic of you.
  16. And then there are rare loot drop upgrades that puts even more power in the hands of PvE grinders. I want all important upgrades to be (quite) easily obtainable by causals, only then can we hope to achieve balance . If we worry about low to mid level players leaving in frustration this is an easy fix that will help a little.
  17. (not directed towards shae:) I think this is the most common reason we bleed players. Many of you here love the economy, the depth, the meaning of it all, the thrill of risking loss. I know and respect that it is your raison d'ĂȘtre. It puzzles me, though, that you expect OW PvP to PvE ratios to be better than in EVE.
  18. Oh, I'm saving this for later. Because you know twitch shooters and are usually right, right? We'll talk about this further down the line.
  19. Snappy salute. Mumbles... Landsmen... Mumbles... Cocky Redcoats...
  20. I'm awkward on land
  21. http://status.shipsofwar.net/
  22. Looooool, wrong game, sorry soldiers.
  23. 15 minutes. It was announced. And I do a lot of this with tagging traders and letting them run; When the timer is replaced with that other white text you invariably have 15 minutes. (or so I thought?)
