we can't bring flags back as we cannot solve the abuse problems when someone can purchase the flag for the thing you want and keep it hidden in port (like it was before). -
Captains. We are not satisfied with RVR incentives and goals and wanted to discuss them with you. Things that can be done within a short period of time. Tie port hostility points to port tax income Reduce costs of ports trading posts and timers Remove conversion of victory marks on War (RVR) Server as their current prices in doubloons is one of the things that makes RVR not worth the time. RVR rewards must only be accessible through RVR on the War server (but should be tradeable like right now). Additionally RVR reward trading should be disabled as i doubt Nelson could trade his Baron of the Nile title to others. This will make it important to participate in RVR if you want RVR related ships or rewards. Add items or chests for victory marks to the admiralty with some conquest related exclusive items. (Including paints and rare ships) Longer coding required and riskier features Add feature allowing lockdown of ports by clans (giving access to port resources only to the clan who owns the port) + maybe adding docking fees.

Changes to making RVR matter will be very painful initially but might make capturing ports rewarding (even taking into account occasional port trading). Lets discuss this in a separate topic.

NPC Loot Feedback and suggestions

we are not sure about final design of shipwrecks as there are many of them dropping per day compared to pvp and pve activities. We will adjust shipwrecks as we go. What will definitely happen this week is the increase in crew pay in doubloons carried by NPC Combat ships and further slight improvements of doubloons from trading carried by NPC traders. The current jump to 150-250 reals per doubloon is caused by abnormal trading profits and the bug in trader doubloon drops causing drastic reduction of supply. We expect gold coin prices to fall and stabilize around 10-40 reals per doubloon (double escudo).- 60 replies

lrq and hercules will come back to shallow PB because the draught limitations will be reworked in one of the next patches. All ships of the similar draughts to Hercules and LRQ will be allowed in shallows and shallow PB. -
Many players requested for ships of the line to be more rare (first rate spam) and more expensive. The implemented design systems achieved the desired result - there are less first rates at sea. This gives me great confidence that designs are not random and actually work (it just works) achieving intended goals. But games being very complex interconnected systems and less first rates might interfere with other systems that worked before. ps: do not understand why players like @Intrepido do not spend their doubloons on first rates to dominate his opponents? Why no-one challenges and captures Nassau that seem to be giving amazing tax income in reals allowing even more ships and fleets to be funded. This could be the root issue. Any theories?

Thank you for the suggestion. But unfortunately it is technically possible but will take long time, given the current priorities it will delay other more important missions like trading and crafting missions and pvp tournaments. -

Combat NPC loot is the same was not touched (But we plan to increase the pay they carry from time to time) -
Captains. Please provide feedback on the loot you get when sinking NPCs (Traders and Combat ships) Propose ideas on improvements and new loot items. We have fixed the bug that limited the drop of doubloons on traders this weekend. We have also increased the amounts of doubloons that can be found in shipwrecks. In the next patch we will need to improve the drops from combat ships (and improve spoils usefulness). The overall goal is to make every ship matter and provide the chance to get something exciting. The goal will be fulfilled when you will not let suitable NPC targets sail by because maybe they carry something that can set you for life weeks of gameplay.

that's true. spoon of poison ruins the whole barrel of whiskey yet here i think the benefits are obvious. 20% of battles, 30 % of pvp deaths (55% if you take add basic cutter and brig that mostly die in pve).

The complaints are understandable. We just think that the benefits outweigh the negatives - mainly with the amount of PVP content generated by the ships. Which will probably disappear with additional restrictions. These ships were already removed from port battles by player requests and now we have less port battles (of course for multiple reasons). We believe everything that is changed or added should increase pvp count.

You can do it on Peace server. On war server once you can sail a 5th rate you must move out of the parents house. And visit enemy waters. Because once And kill missions exist only because players demand them. But the best way to progress is to hunt in OW. Kill missions will be more assassin jobs where you are fighting elite enemies for good rewards. Remember that not all PVE missions are in. Kill guest will be just a good starting point. -
1 you can capture up to 60 free 5th rates per day if you find a right spot 4 flags are a DLC and is very popular. By saying manage you present this fact as if they were done for free and then removed. This was never the case. When they were announced for real (not in like discussions) they were announced as DLC with a chance to get them in game in special events and operations. In terms of the rest of your comments its all "Fight Club Movie" again Player. I love DLC in wow. do it like wow! Designer. You mean we can add xp and crafting boosters, 30 EUR one time race transfers or server transfers? Player. No - you are not wow.

The author of the post claimed that there are no ships that are better than DLC ships. And claimed he can kill any 5th rate in a herc. So thats really THE point of the conversation. There are better ships than DLC ships and in addition to that DLC ships bring lots of PVP It's not throwing off ANY stats Hercules and Le requin owners gave players 2200 kills (they sank 2200 times) they sank more than any other ship. In fact 3 ships contribute 50% of deaths (sinking on the war server). Basic cutter, brig (tutorial one) le requin and hercules is 55% of deaths on War server during last 30 days. I don't get you mindset point. It lacks any logic. I find your logic strange for a player with 10x pvp KD (corrected from 5x KD). You should embrace the lack of fear of of sinking. Going to die without fear using basic mods IS PVP mindset . Its the best mindset. You say they are throwaway ships? What about free 5th rates from NPCs? it takes like 4 mins to find one and capture. You can use 1 only herc per day but you can use 20+ captured 5th rates or more depending on your free time. Why dont people have the same mindset on captured 5th rates? You want people to experience MORE PAIN? You want people to worry more? I think some pvp players are just losing track of what they want (we do that too btw). They ask for more incentives for pvp and then they complain about lack of fear mindset Then they talk about overpowered mods - and then immediately complain about the fact that DLC ships only use basic mods

You are either not playing the game or have never been to a national capital lately. Such posts are also a reason new players are always on the fence. So called feedback gives give complete useless info that does not correspond to reality at all and confuse others who start spreading it. Happing like real time in this topic to even people like rediii Do not make statements you are not sure are true. Check first, or ask questions first and then post. Posting false information consistently will force mods to remove you posting privileges. Such posts confuse a lot of people and waste a lot of our time. As we read feedback here and pay attention. Capitals provide unlimited supply of 6th rate and 7th rate missions And if player passes the tutorials he can skip the early grind and start being useful in pvp getting doubloons in patrols in throwaway corvettes. -

capitals have an unlimited supply of 6th and 7th rates missions + tutorial allows you to sail 5th rates once you pass the M&C finals. World is littered by lobby based dead games like Evolve, Lawbreakers, and other instant action trash. Legends was dead in a week. In NA you sometimes have to sail to enemies and sometimes this trip can take 1 hour = part of the game. Not the game for everyone. But you can log off of course and continue the next day. -
So if we change LRQ to a 5th rate and keep the stats suddenly it will become ok? Classes are irrelevant after localization as we will change the classes based on the modified late british system: Moving ships around to their proper place in terms of class as current class system interferes with missions.

And? They cannot enter shallow port battles and have some but not overwhelming influence on RVR, but only in shallow waters. They also are worse than at least half ships in the game and are useless in deep water battles. They drop in chests its not happening every second but it happens. These ships are strong; we wanted to give something good and interesting to play for players who support us. But there at least 30 ships that can be crafted that are WAY better. We do not consider shallows a separate game this we do not consider "but shallows" arguments critical. They are could be argued and we understand other viewpoints exist on this shallows issue. Stats of LRQ and Here allow them to be strong and enter shallows. We try to use historical stats. Herc will turn into snow if it loses historical stats. People who complain about DLC ships always complain about DLCs in every game. They don't want subscription, and yet they dont want DLC and demand things without offering means to achieve them. They now complain that we have flags. Their shouting hides possibly real complaints (about turn rates or maybe HP) + to @staun s point LRQ + Hercules generated 31000 battles from approximately 120,000 over last 30 days. Yet they are not in top 15 by survivability. 7 ships including these two generated 70000 battles. The rest of the ships are not used. Just a quick comparison 1500 people had at least 1 battle in the last 30 days in a DLC ship. This means these 1500 people had 20 battles each. And died 2200 times Ocean has 17 battles per owner (but higher survivability) Bellona has 13 battles per owner (but higher survivability) Bellona and Ocean owners died only 325 times out of 19000 battles. This means one thing. One click ships bring pvp to the pvp server, and kills to others. Many players returned to play because of them (they do not want to craft) and shallow patrols are always full from morning till evening. You either have those 31000 battles and 2200 pvp kills or you do not have them. We are not planning to change anything with the current promise to have crafted ships that are better in the same category. There will be a free DLC given to all ea owners (pandora) and it will increase pvp even further - it will be comparable to hercules somewhat. It will become paid after release. And will also cause complaints.

The chances can be mined from the API i guess. But crafting in captured ports definitely gives better chance for new permanent slots. It is several times higher. like 3.5x.

Trial by combat heh? If i was given 1 dollar for every duel offer I would be rich. There will be no duel. Multiple reasons Accepting a duel as a dev is always lose lose. If we lose we are not better off. if we win (with ease) we will be blamed for using developer knowledge. (That's why there are no devtools on live servers - we are paranoid in this regard - nobody can hack if there are no tools to hack). Toxic haters even complained about bias when we moved a capture point in one port after a port battle because we thought of a better more interesting place for it. But we support duel challenges and give prizes when well known players try to prove the mechanic. We might offer someone to participate - we like picking Bronn Champion from people we know. We only will consider duels to the death (which means full account deletion for the loser) otherwise the parties can agree to a certain result if there is no cost for the loss.

are you sure you are checking ship stats and crafting bonuses right? For example hercules stats There is at least 1 crafteable 40 gunner that is better than Hercules (40 guns) in terms of: HP and mast HP Crew Thickness and mast thickness Sails Broadside weight Even more - a lot of of 38-44 gun ships in game are better than hercules and will eat hercs for breakfast. Crafting bonus It is several times easier (multiple times easier) to get a well crafted 5v5 if you craft a ship in a capturable port. Usage of notes or admiralty ships does not have any bonuses. You basically cannot get a 5/5 ship from the note. (It is possible but it is extremely rare). You can get a 5/5 ship using crafting a lot more often. We are very careful with what we promise and this promise is definitely fulfilled. Limited br patrols will not be damage based and can be kill based. Then you won't be able to farm damage - and ships will actually have to sink to progress in the event. 2 players enter - 1 player leaves.

You can't solve it by agreement between players, so the only way is to bring the honorable battles by design. Example: Frigate solo event Allows only 5th rates - all battles start 1v1 and immediately close in the patrol area. Once player gets into the zone he can be sure that the only battle he can get is 1v1 eliminating all ganking options (if he is attacked by the 1st rate he can easily escape or maybe even sink the 1st rate 1v1). Because this is a localized event (only available in certain areas in certain days), it does not go against general sandbox nature, as the rest of the map values force and numbers; it gives solo player an option to do something without fear of losing the ship to ganks.
