We focus on important things and important things are determined by the community. Current priorities list (voted by players) will not let us focus on anything related to pirates for quite some time. Shouting about lack of attention to this topic is wrong and will only lead to ruined relationships of the dev team with those players. Some are even threatening to leave the game which for us means complete lack of understanding of what this community voted for to be done first (+ also means that pirates won ) Regarding pirates First will address the port capture Lack of port capture is not going to make pirate gameplay interesting. Henry Morgan captured a lot of towns using his own forces (at some point he had 1400 infantry under his command - all buccaneers), if henry morgan could do it (he had funds and could hire people on the promise of riches) then any JackSparrow111 could do it too if he has enough funds and friends. But you can try to persuade us to the contrary. Current mechanics were explained in detail to mods and those who asked. The difference with the pirate mental model is strong for several reasons. Reason 1: Current war mechanics. Pirates can attack each other. But everyone else can also attack each other. Because you can attack anyone anyway - pirate is no different from the dutch because he can freely engage anyone Because of this the line between nations (who can be at peace) and pirates (who are always attackable) is blurred from the national player point of view But you miss one thing - pirate is not safe from his friends (explained in detail in reason 4.) Reason 2: Sandbox goals In a sandbox everyone has access to same tools and can use them the way they want. Some players want pirates to have to extremely limited tools hoping their gameplay will become a lot more interesting as a result. For some reason many of those players are not pirates. Two proposals are common: lack of port capture (in reality pirates did capture towns) and lack of ability to sail first rates (in reality pirates did not need first rates because their goal was to steal enough money to retire) In the sandbox getting enough money is easy and if you don't want to retire you create new goals for yourself and retiring is not one of them. Because its a sandbox you cannot really control those goals. Reason 3. No war/peace cycle If peace/war could cycle could happen between nations then pirates would be a main target (because criminals) during peace times - or used as harassing force against nations you are at peace with. Original thought was this - players who are interested lots of pvp opportunities join pirates because they attack each other (lots of PvP). But player base use the tools provided the way they want. And pirates decided to unite. Reason 4. Unity Those who comment on the lack of difference do not understand the strong unity that exist in the pirate nation. You can attack and sink ANY Pirate with no consequence. You see a beautiful ship you don't have; you attack it and take it. Pirate towns are not safe (unlike british coasts). Pirates can sink you if you are a pirate and steal everything. But Pirates DONT attack each other because of the unity, because thats what they chose to believe. Reason 5. Disney and books It is tied to goals players set for themselves. But disney/historical pirates are very hard to replicate in a sandbox environment. Because Disney pirate - robs 3 player snows filled with gold and retires. Sandbox pirate - robs 3 player snows filled with gold and buys a 3rd rate. Rob enough players and you have a fleet of 25 third rates. In summary Players proposing "I was hoping pirates were interesting" should offer things that will make pirates interesting. People play historical sandboxes because they want to change history, because they want to conquer the world as Albania in EU4 or conquer germany as poland 1938 in Hearts of Iron. But because its multiplayer you can stop them. Pushing the game from sandbox into themepark will affect nations more than pirates.

Having one port makes the game very hard. It forces you into light ships. Players who are unhappy about the current sandbox should do something themselves: namely expel pirates from the bahamas forcing them into Inagua islands. Il-a-Vache based pirates play as real pirates already. Because they play for kills and robbing not conquest They sail light vessels (or fast frigates) exclusively. They run from superior british fleets when british pass by or come to clear them up They support other nations acting as bait or as support This is only happening because british are doing something in that area. Why cannot nations do the same in the Bahamas for example?

If players decide that we need alliances in game in the future this will not be needed as allied nations will be able to use ports of their allies or vassals. Right now it is not an exploit - nations can trade ports with each other if they see fit.

Captains Moderators in game are players. They are free volunteers who help us with 2 things 1) keep chat clean 2) help players but mostly keep chat clean Please keep in mind that mods are players and in 90% of cases they are members of active clans and nations. The green color ID was added to help ID them when they warn players in private - because previously it did not work (when someone you dont know contacted you and asked to calm down people usually did not react well). We are receiving questions about their chat comments and would like to state the following They are not neutral. They CAN say - Go Sweden without someone reporting it to us as bias. They might sink you and board you in battle. They might chase you or run from you. They might ask you questions you don't like or comment on your actions in battle. This is allowed - this is also allowed for you. If mod is running from you in a weak ship - it is ok if you comment on that without personal attacks he is also not allowed to troll you and might lose his position because of that. They are allowed to share their personal opinion and take sides. They are active players like you. ядра сделать легко вопрос не в этом в том что если делать исторично то средний фрегат оснащался на 6 месячный поход то есть это на 60 часов беспрерывного геймплея (20 мин игровые сутки)

Портовые битвы по пб было на западном форуме интересное предложение сделать 3 левела за региональные столицы - пускает всех за остальные города - пускает фрегаты за мелководные как сейчас С карты рейты это все равно не уберет но снизит их использование в портовых битвах = но думаю стоит дождаться мортир По портовым битвам стоит замедлить ход событий резко увеличив кулдаун на флаг до трех дней Также надо ввести морские базы (которые будут позволять покупать флаг) построить которые будет требовать много ресурсов и участия нации Еще момент который вскрылся в тестах изначальный дизайн - купил флаг = организовал битву должен был помогать среднему игроку участвовать в них - но судя по тому что происходит средний игрок не активно участвует в портовых битвах. В них все равно в большей степени участвуют харкорные игроки исходя из этого не стоит ли разбить пб на две части - 1 установка флага и на след день ПБ в это время? по лидербордам и рейтингам мы обеими руками за но как избежать искуственного надувания рейтинга путем договорных сливов пока не придумали

мортирные бриги земля и большие укрепления изменят баланс портовых битв возможно до не узнаваемости. Стоящие 25 сантисим с лонгами будут за 10-20 минут уничтожены мортирами из безопасных областей пока фрегаты прикрывают от рашеров. Кустов же нет образно говоря. Встал - тони. Пристрелявшись к узким проходам мортирные бриги не дадут войти в гавань. Но тут надо все равно аккуратно - а то будет все вокруг мортир крутиться. Чтобы не получилось так - что кто больше мортир притащил того и тапки

EvE is not one server. EvE is 10000 servers/system instances separated by jumpgates (jump animation hides the loading screen) providing plausible separation of system instances while keeping one server in the player mind. It is possible in any environment where you can separate areas by jumpgates Unfortunately jump gates cannot not exist at sea - thus one server is not possible unless someone will come up with the great explanation of why there is a spot at sea teleporting you somewhere else

25 cutters is 300 cannons - why a solo renommee or cerberus should be able to fight them effectively? All ships up to constitution are somewhat free too - you can capture them from players or NPCs for free and use them as free cutters Cutters can't catch a square rigger if he did a proper defensive tag - and they cannot catch him on the open world if he sails his best point.

Rewards are still somewhat higher in events if the battle is big enough to provide you with kills/assists. 2 reasons for that 1) Battles are somewhat equal (max imbalance can go up to 30% only) 2) Enemies don't run and actually fight you in 100% cases In the open world enemies run even from equal fights.
