It should work ok i believe. but if bugs happen we will fix them. Max crafting level is saved for steam ID not player name.

PvE server has a lot less conflict and eventually you will stop losing ships at all once you get some experience and upgraded vessels. You basically do not lose money there (i hope).

Labor hours are universal across all servers. Otherwise you will level up 4 times faster. There are only 2 choices Sync craft XP and labor hours or not sync craft XP at all. Because getting craft xp is hard (if not harder) than battle XP we believe it should be synced with labor hours -providing flexibility AND limiting exploits..

What we have found over time is this. Sometimes players have to see two options to be able to see the light and the right solution. We lowered the mission rewards right now, but we have no strong position on this and it will continue being adjusted going forward until we find the sweet spot. In the future do not forget to constructively share your opinions if you disagree with changes. Don't be silent. Do not let the vocal minority to push for changes you do not want.

You are forgetting damage rewards that can reach 50k per mission on high level ships (in addition to a mission reward).

Все проблемы системы прокачки возникают из-за дамаг фармеров. Либо мы должны на них просто забить и дать комфортные условия для 95% игроков либо надо закрывать дыры делая какие то вещи не комфортными для всех. есть пара идей по офицерам и команде которые сгладят проблему.- 61 replies

We posted as soon as we found out. No heads up possible when the issue is unexpected. If only we knew . But we warned about constant chances for crashes, bugs and problems in early access. It could happen because the tech has not been fully tested with large. ps. The most expensive was planetary annihilation for 99!!!! dollars.

We are deploying the patch tomorrow 12 Feb. Due to XP rework the deployment will take longer and maintenance will start at 11-30am kiev time. We think it is a last minor patch before new content starts getting in. What's new: New account XP system Old system had a lot of problems and confusion. It did not give enough flexibility and it created a huge burden of work for the dev team with the tornado of tickets. New system is elegant and solves the majority of player problems and questions letting us focus on development more. Rules of the system Rank, Craft level and Labor hours are synchronized on steam account (learnt blueprints are not) Steam account sync is independent of the player name You can have different nations on different servers You can have different names on different servers In summary you can delete a player and create another one with another name keeping XP We know some players will say it can lead to this and that but we are not worried. It solves a lot more problems than it creates. In the future it might change but right now it is the best choice. New small battles/large battle timers A lot of players had problems when both sides did not want to lose the ship in events. Causing long waits and claims of trolling. Small and large battles have received battle and exit timers. This will allow players to exit the battle if both sides do not want to wait until the end. Battle timer is 30 mins Exit timer is 2 mins You still cannot exit during first 30 mins. But if the battle is not resolved during that time after that you can exit the event using the exit timer rules from the open world. Other fixes Port battles with no damage bug fixed A lot of players were trolling others by destroying friendly derelicts. You cannot destroy the friendly derelicts any more. Damage calculations are more optimized in large battles. Battle exit logic is improved and several bugs fixed Ship no longer dissapears when sank enemy exits the battle Mission rewards fixed - missions now give fixed 5000 gold: favoring young players and giving no advantage for higher levels who have other options to make money 4th rates and higher vessels repair prices increased 50% Assault flags prices upper price level increased Compass wood supply tuned Carriages production levels decreased Small events no longer feature bots that are unavailable at open sea. Certain server tech was replaced - server crash like yesterday will happen a lot less now.

XP for travel will promote botting. There are basically two routes in this matter 1) we provide comfortable and exciting motivations by giving xp for various activities for everyone - making the game better for a normal user - but this will allow bots or xp farmers/exploiters to gain advantage 2) or we limit the botting potential also affecting a normal player. If everyone agrees to ignore farmers/exploiters then we can go wild with many exciting features for a normal player. But experience shown that for some reason average player does not ignore farmers and fills the tribunal with cases of someone getting more XP or better ships faster.

We did not want to nerf traders to death. But from what I witnessed capturing loaded traders was a pain and caused a lot of cognitive dissonance (fully stocked, but still faster than your super speed fitted ship) We believe the 1knot nerf is reasonable and most traders on OW are NPCs. Players usually sail with groups or are taking safer routes. btw. the real trader speed nerf is actually less than 0.3-0.5 knots. Because guns lose you from 0.5 to 1 knots of speed depending on their type.

You underestimate how easy it is to take back money from the economy. especially if you have tools and inner strength to do it. Again we said we are not worried about pixel money and you should not worry too. We will continue more money less money, more xp, less xp, more speed less speed for quite some time in search for more fun. Please stop discussing money in this patch feedback and talk about other features.

Why should a loaded trader carrying up to 4000 tons be faster than a combat ship? Please explain in detail. Perhaps we are missing something about cargo effects on speed. (no sarcasm intended). ps. trader lynx is still faster than anyone and cant be caught. Trader snow and brig could be caught anyway with the previous speed if tagged properly on the open world.

it will be player based once production buildings are added. 10 players will have x production slots providing supply for Y players. 1000 players will have 100x production slots providing supply for 100Y players. Right now criticizing fixed NPC supply is basically useless as it will not matter. Same with money. Remember that to find more problems it is sometimes better to exaggerate it. (or using the Toyota production system philosophy - to see all under water stones in a river you have to take out all water). Hang on there Captains. We wont let you down

Abundant supplies have to be tested to properly judge the production buildings (mines, etc) effects and calculate their production capacity with real data.

We never said that EA might not be for you. We are very careful with what we say. We said this You will always have problems with devs working and testing things - good things and mistakes always happen in all early access games. Players already have millions On the oak and fir there was no supply at all whatsoever. For iron you can actually buy it in some ports now.. but half of the ports is empty - providing trading opportunities. You cannot make something without breaking something. Many things will break a lot in the future as well. if this is a problem for you all EA games will be a problem for you Captain.

Early access is for testing and fixing. Economy is not in its final state and what you see right now does not represent what will happen once port investments and port production is implemented.
