It wont attract players. I would like to remind you that highest player count (and happiest) was when you could attack ANYONE ANYWHERE even your nation members. And there were NO, absolutely NO safezones. But because this post is in the suggestions it must be searchable if we want to find your feedback in the future. Thats why it needs tags. Its locked until tags appear.

Fan Made Video - Battle of Placentia 1789
admin replied to Christendom's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Some videos that we promote get a lot of views. Copyrighted music can cause some problems or youtube will just delete the videos (using content ID blocks). Better use free music (royalty free). Or find inexpensive one in libraries. But great work! Keep it up! In 5-6 months find me - lets shoot a Trafalgar Real Time reenactment. We will script it (AI will fight) and you will do camera work. -
Its a goal of the community to accentuate good feedback, rework it, improve it and move it up so it gets noticed.. If you feel that your suggestion is getting lost this means community did not notice it. If community thinks that something is a good idea it will come up again and again and will eventually get on the development plan. Sometimes community misses something and it happens - but we wont, we provide the link to such post below - we will act upon the suggestion even if community completely missed it. If it is proper. Community can miss or will ignore your feedback for multiple reasons Your suggestion is not clear, cluttered, not formatted well, or just uses bad language. If your post is hard to read or hard to understand it will not be noticed by the community. Your suggestion is all over the place or partially off topic For example you start talking about chainshot and end up with lighthouses. In this case community does not know what to talk about and start adding new things into the subject NOT ONLY making the topic about chainshot impossible to read BUT ALSO losing the suggestion on lighthouses. Lighthouses should be a separate topic talking ONLY about lighthouses Your suggestion does not have TAGS: for example - Chainshot feedback It is impossible to search for feedback without tags. if you post is not properly tagged : It will be hard to find If your post is tagged it will come up in search when devs decide to search for chainshot feedback. ps. we need to tag ourselves too if we ask about something. Your post is a shitpost or a shit sandwich (your post can be bad even without you knowing it). Remember the law of manure increase in the universe (if you add 1 gram of manure to 1kg of honey you get 1.01 kg of manure. Manure turns EVERYTHING into manure and your good suggestion will be lost. Example of the shit sandwich Good idea Shitpost Good idea Or vice versa Shit sandwich can be spread in time. Community is a two way street. Your angry posts can affect how community will read your good proposals. Self destruction. Somewhat related to the previous point (4). You start the post with the weird sentence like "I know developers ignore all proposals on the forum, but here is the great idea". This immediately devalues your idea because you just programmed the community to ignore it. Another style of this post is : This is probably a stupid idea, but…. If author writes it is a stupid idea then it is probably a stupid idea and wont be read. Not engaging the community and not building on previous feedback. Post will be much better if it builds on previous feedback - links it or links multiple posts with summaries building on them and improving them. This will also engage authors of those suggestions and the community hivemind will create something amazing. Do not have visual information (post becomes 100% better with visuals) Example of feedback that just came to mind (we acted upon them) @Poyraz Turning acceleration - implemented last december (despite only 8 votes and lack of proper discussion). Tagged and easy to find, read and understand. Tagged/Good Structure/Visually supported. It was always coming up in search when we search for "turning acceleration, turn" @rediii Post on the proposal on the loading screens. (will be acted upon and will be added to loading screens and PDF guide (of course redrawn and improved but based on Redii's proposal) Structured - simple - visually supported. There are a lot of posts like this we either follow them or come back to them when we need to. Protractor on the map was based on such post (visual, simple, not cluttered and on a single topic) It's up you YOU if you want your feedback to be noticed and acknowledged and maybe acted upon. If you want it to be noticed - make it noticeable. Engage the community by incorporating previous suggestions on this subject (tags will make it easier). Maybe even creating mega threads with links collections and such, becoming so to speak a feature owner who knows everything about it (an expert). Best acknowledgment of feedback is when you see your idea added to the game.

I think we need to add a proximity exit option that allow exit if you are too far away from the enemy. Something like this First 30-40 mins - patrol rule: no-one can exit Thereafter - proximity exit (like with control perk), if enemy is far away (for example kiting you) you can disengage and exit.
-
You assumed it or you can provide a quote? Game rules concern only NA player in game not his/her steam accounts.
-
It will also ruin the gameplay for captains who are outnumbered but winning. 2v5 for example, as right now 5 cannot escape. But they will escape with your proposal

онлайн не равен количеству играющих 500 онлайн это 3000-5000 человек зашедших в игру в течении суток (в среднем по больнице) если каждый отправит по боту то это 5000 ботов на карте

It's not hard to figure out when someone is trolling, griefing others on purpose. Even theoretically if he was testing it "for science", where are his reports on the subject matter, where are his constructive proposals on improving the mechanics? i dont see any. Thats what testing is all about its not it? Running and kiting is allowed. But if you try to just attack and do nothing for 1.5 hours - 3-4 times in a row in a patrol - you might look like a griefer to others. 3-1 will still keep people in battle if you end up with 2v1. Proximity exit rules might solve the problem better but will let some enemies escape. Something like that: First 45 mins you get the patrol rule (cannot exit). After 45 mins if you are more than 1km away from any enemy you can exit normally if not under fire.

On the topic in general There are all sorts of grey areas with this case, because kiting is a genuine strategy. Unless you do it 3 times in a row for the purpose to waste time. Any measures to limit kiting will affect everyone and might make patrols worse as a result. Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying Steam services, software or other content. https://store.steampowered.com/online_conduct/

On the topic of the main post. There are all sorts of grey areas with this case, because kiting is a genuine strategy. Any measures to limit kiting or attempts to delay your sinking will affect everyone and might make gameplay worse as a result. Consistently wasting another side time in patrol with no intention to fight though could be considered abuse. But we only have 1 screen and cannot make this decision here, because all we see is a modestly large battle with almost all enemies eliminated + one annoying guy trying to save his ship (you mention that he sank at the end). No further evidence is provided for consistent griefing and time wasting in the subsequent battles But the name of the captain is noted and his language in this thread is not appropriate when explaining his actions. If this continues we will take action. Please report if you face repeated griefing from the captain mentioned in this thread.

On this particular case you mention. I hope i understood your point correctly. Clan has full control over players who are allowed to join the port battle. If his clan is on the friend list - he can enter the port battle. If clan does not like that particular person they can remove his clan from the friend list

Captains. As we come closer to the release we need to add additional ways we gather feedback from the community. One of the tools some MMOs use Community representatives who are elected by the community and have direct line to devs. (referred there after as CR) We think it would be a good idea and are looking for ideas on this What do you think could be a good method to elect such representative (community vote, or appointment or merit (for example size of the clan, or new player retention in a clan - or a mix of all three) What do you think should be the requirements for a CR? What should be responsibilities for such CR?
-
Captains. We are from eastern Europe and English is not our native language. Due to this fact sometimes our phrases can sound harsh and angry even though it was not our intention to come across this way. If you hear a strange comment we make that you definitely think will be misread or misunderstood. Let us know here or in private message. We will rephrase. If you find a statement that sounds extremely harsh or angry - let us know here or in private message. We will rephrase to remove all potential confusion. We want everyone to have a good time here and playing the game and believe that the way we talk can also contribute to frustration. Help us fix it.

Me too. I just dont have enough evidence (anecdotal or video) that will prove that loot pick up is impossible. I personally do not have problems with loot pick up. I also dont see this as a problem on live streams. But if is a problem for a majority and the problem exists for everyone we can increase the time to sink for vessels. (which was increased twice over the last year) and can be increased again if necessary (range).

Thanks for the signal We dont see it as an issue, we are yet to see fleets of chaining NPC fleet ships. To my opinion and NPC in a fleet is a free gift to an enemy. They are just to entertain players and do not provide a real challenge (with the exception of reinforcement bots). If everyone will start using NPC fleets to chain enemies then we can come back to the subject.

You did not answer the question? If in game 24 hours is 20 RL mins. So how long would be in game 3 hours in RL mins? But anyways. it all does not matter. If you want comfortable loot pick up - board. If you cant board and still want comfortable loot pick up - do something before laying the final shots (for example get closer, get between target and wind)
-
Even if charges were not set to let the fleets to show respects properly (would be harder if it sank in 1 min or completely exploded) Current in game hours to RL hours conversion fits perfectly with what you have said. Correct me if am wrong of course but 3 hours is how many mins in game time? Also - if you board the vessel it does not sink. It only sinks if you completely destroy its structural strength, which in turn makes sinking time somewhat fine.

next patch smuggler flag checkbox will be removed trading ships will be able to enter all enemy ports. Combat ships wont
-
I know you play this game a lot and i was sure that you knew that you dont need undock permission. You can undock a combat ship even from the enemy port. Unless - you decided to outsmart everyone and use the useless smuggler flag
