Everything is on the steam page Naval Action is a HARDCORE ..... check the steam page. Many things you consider bad (long journeys, lone sails on the horizon, long searches for fights, running from superior fleets, sinking) were part of the age of sail experience. We deliver on the many things that are true to the age of sail experience. Many french ships sank right in the harbors from the skilled British captains

we are not trying to attract casual crowd - sorry. And NEVER planned or plan to. in fact there is no place where we ever said this is a casual friendly game. Funny fact! (kudos to all of you). NO-ONE HERE IS CASUAL. Even if you think you are casual YOU ARE NOT. You are playing one of the most hardcore games. Think about it. Full loot. There is no insurance too. Everything you carry with you is lost on death. Full gank almost anywhere. You can lose most ports forever. Some nations can lose access to admiralty (forever). You are not safe ANYWHERE. You have to sail for hours. Most ships must be built by players. No resources are provided by NPCs (only players). Game is 99% skill based. And can destroy enemy 25 to 0 even in smaller ships if you are skilled. There is no tutorial and interface is non-existent. Dont tell me you are casual. There NEVER were a single casual player in this game. You are all BAD HARDCORE M****ERS. excuse my french. EVEN if you are on the PVE server.

Look Victor. If people did not want risk. PVE server would have bigger numbers. Sorry but this is a fact. People want risk Adrenaline gives you endorphins, creates emotions, creates better experience. We ran a lot of experiments during last 2 years and now are confident on what we want the game to look like on release. We also know what players we want and what players we dont want in the game. We also know now how do we want to approach community. You can now relax sit back and enjoy the ride. PVP server will be full of risk and excitement. Safe zones will remain to help players rebuild, but there will be no absolute safety for higher ranks. Its a pvp server - its a real age of sail experience. Real captains fought real captains from time to time. This will remain .. forever.

Thats not a problem. If you lost it its always your fault. Your account is not wiped on death. You dont lose xp. You are not corpse camped, you dont lose skill points, you can capture this ship from others. You can sail it any time you want (not like in real life with 5 first rates for the whole navy)

What you call ganking is called gaining numerical superiority in reality. Gaining numerical superiority is a logistical and management skill. Britain 2x (two power standard) rule that let them rule the seas was a law. Please stop using the word ganking in a age of sail game. It's just a wargame mechanic.

You agree with me in principle and we only talked about principles. You dont have to sail for 2 hours to find a pvp fight (there are places where players are hunting or farming and as a last resort there is always Captain reverse and people like him) You dont have to sail for 2 hours to find a pve fight (there are spots where concentration of AI is huge) In fact most of the time average time to find a fight is not much slower than PUBG. TP to tortuga and sail to mortimer - 5 mins and you get a fight. The only caveat is this - you can find A fight, but it might not be a fair fight (which can also be said about pubg) sinking players who do not yet know how play is part of the game. Every pvp game (from tarkov to cs to eve to pubg) also important point - there are no mission agents in spawn stations in EVE.

indeed but players (Including you) seem to be always connecting any missions with online numbers and retention. Thus if you are are right (and missions and online are connected) their logic tells us that removing missions will actually increase online OR. please stop connection missions with online numbers.

millions of rookies are farmed in PUBG mercilessly All games die. all people die and all ships sink. the sooner players realize that ship loss is nothing to worry about - the better.

It wont. sorry mate. Your logic is flawed, and here is why. There are two sides of the medal Limited missions cancellations (position decided by admiralty) Unlimited missions (position decided by player) Only one side could be right. You (and some others) say that limited mission will cause online to fall. Using this logic we can infer that unlimited missions should cause online to go up. Which is definitely not true. Everyone should understand this: this game tries to deliver a certain experience, but not everyone will like this experience. We have no desire to satisfy everyone. Hunt in the OW, there are places where you dont even have to sail for 5 mins for constant non stop farming. Leave capitals - there are plenty of bot chokepoints. But i will tell you this. Missions are not a final feature. They might not survive by release.

Lets think this through together. If a player does not know the difference between indefatigable or surprise he will have trouble with or without text support for the visuals If the players does know the difference between indefatigable or surprise he can easily judge which ship is this by just looking at the ship model. Ship models are rather beautiful and detailed - you can see if it is indefatigable or wasa, visually.

Captain this is a friendly development forum where we all gathered to have a good time. The fact that you dont like something does not make it stupid. Such language makes it harder to connect with you and your feedback. Cancellation limit is a step forward (the proper step would be complete removal of missions), limits on cancellations is a good compromise. Admiralty sends you to the mission you honestly cannot argue with the mission location. Historically if you declined orders you would be demoted or fired. Workaround is simple - If you dont like the mission - sail out to OW there are plenty of NPCs. Or wait until next day. You get 3 more cancellations attempts. Even Eve limits mission cancellations by a significant drop in agent reputation.

You can only see a top sail from 20 miles You can judge a size of the ship by a top sail, but not a ship itself. One would argue that you cannot even judge the size of the fleet at all (if they are sailing in a line formation towards you). We know what we are taking out, but the visual recognition (especially in bad weather condition) will become a more integral part of the game and will bring both excitement AND frustration to OW combat - which is somewhat historical (given an abstract travel map) and this is the only way to implement this historical element: inability to exactly know who you are facing from 20 miles.

Crafting XP and Rank XP redeemables should be on the server you previously played on. For example if you played on PVP USA - they were transferred to Caribbean. If you played on PVE server - redeemables should be on the PVE server. All other redeemables were cleared/removed recently. Only XP related redeemables were kept.

This proposal should be thought through with 1000th battle in mind. How fun this would be after 1000th death (captivity)? And who would press gang the sailors to go pvp if this is implemented? In reality a lot of sailors did not want to go to the navy because they did not want to suffer this severe penalty.

We tweaked the numbers, reducing the cargo loss due to water when ships are sinking. You will get more hold from sinking ships in the next patch. work around if you boarded the ship - pick repairs first (to not lose some of them when it starts sinking) then sink him (you can pick up a pvp upgrade after - it will drop after you sank the ship) if you sank the ship some cargo will be lost
-
I tend to agree. DD is annoying but rage boarding is even more annoying. 2 proper shots by grape into stern remove DD if you are in the equal ships. Remember that HMS Victory commandeered by Nelson could not board French Third Rate Redoutable for 4 hours and failed at all attempts, while being stationary.

it does not have enough.. but some tips could be added of course. Please propose References ideas Tips ideas

The mechanic will change next patch. Currently When your game crashes in certain time your AI leutenants are trying to save your ship setting the best course trying to escape the battle. NPC ships do not carry repairs and thus when you return you see no repairs in hold. In the next patch AI control will not hide repairs any longer.

Checked. Its a feature - not a bug It has been in the game since Summer 2017 If you captured a ship you get full loot, everything in the hold is yours. If ship is sinking , parts of the hold are getting filled with water and are inaccessible, thus you cannot get everything and only get part of the loot. This mechanic does not affect ability to remove 1 upgrade from the ship that is always available.
