  1. Make sure you don't redeem them for now, and they may show up on the other servers as well soon. I'll follow up with Admin when I next see him to see what is going on.
  2. At this time, yes. You can only have one character. If you're unsure about your nation, it's best to create a character, play for a little bit in on nation (don't get too far!), and then delete it and create another in another nation until you find the "right" one.
  3. It's really not that bad. Press M for map, look at where the mission is compared to nearby ports, and sail from that port in roughly the right direction using the compass. The missions are called search and destroy for a reason. These missions also give you great practice in learning navigation, a skill you will sorely need later in the game.
  4. I don't believe it is, but I have no information one way or the other. If you have a character with crafting XP, please try it out and let me know! Thanks.
  5. Yes, except they only share the amount of combat XP you've earned. Ships, gold, and other assets are not shared. Any XP you earn on one server, however, is applied to all of the servers.
  6. If you'd like to find some PvP, get in your ship and head into the area around Plymouth, Montserrat. In the past, there has been no shortage of players in those waters, the Bahamas seems to be a hot spot too at the moment. Nothing in particular (other than a port battle) currently draws players together to fight, but sailing into a heavily trafficked area will certainly find you other players in singles and in groups to trade cannonades with.
  7. You'll need to create a separate Steam Account for your daughter I believe, since the characters and whatnot are tied to your SteamID and you can't "buy" it twice on the same SteamID. Graphics have not yet been optimized, so they're slower than they should be. Expect further optimization to happen at a later date. Further servers may be looked at if there is enough interest in them.
  8. Admin is aware of the Danish chat issues. Please right click offenders and use the "report" button. I guarantee there will be actions taken once the Developers have had time to review the reports.
  9. As no screenshots to demonstrate a rules violation have been posted, and no actual violation of the rules alleged, I'm going to close this topic. Anyone involved that may have actual proof of wrongdoing may message me to have it reopened if they have good evidence. Thank you.
  10. The Developers are asleep for the night, expect a response in a few hours.
  11. The Yacht may be different as it was advertised as a pre-order ship. I'm still waiting on a response about that.
  12. Please see the announcement thread here: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/8482-repeat-important-message-about-headstart-ships/ Thanks!
  13. The other two ships will be coming after the weekend. Hang in there.
  14. While you can get small benefits from manual sails in fore/aft ships, the manual sailing model for them hasn't been finished yet. It's on the drawing board though.
  15. Very well stated Mr. Allen. You are all ambassadors of the game. Let's be helpful and friendly and point out all of the great things you get for the money, and skip the negativity.
  16. A fix for people being able to join your missions is in the works. It was an unintended bug. There are already several threads about this, so I'll close this one as as duplicate. It is also not a topic that belongs in Tribunal. Hang in there, a fix is coming as soon as it's ready!
  17. When it happens, are you using the "Submit Crash Report" option before playing the game again? Please do so! Meanwhile, please try different video drivers and shut down other applications such as Shadow Play or whatnot. This kind of problem is usually related to conflict with another program, old/bad drivers, or other local system issues.
  18. Personally, I think it's great that your XP gets shared, even across regions. Gold is easy, XP is hard.
  19. No. Unfortunately, if you have a graphics card that doesn't support DirectX 11, there is no way you can play the game. You'll have to upgrade your card.
  20. Or was it on fire and he didn't notice? I was set on fire a number of times in my snow prior to EA, and sometimes it took the bell a while to let me know - I noticed only because I saw the smoke.
  21. Unfortunately, your video card is too old to play Naval Action. The GTX280 only can run DirectX 10 instructions, which means despite having installed DirectX 11 on your system, the card itself can't understand what it needs to do and the game crashes. To play, you'll need to update your hardware.
  22. Hornblowers card was older and didn't support DX11. Not sure about OP.
  23. Please review the Guides section. The Yacht is a "normal" ship, even though it doesn't have a repair cost. As such, it must be equipped with cannon of the proper class. Looking at the Equipment tab in port when you have the Yacht selected as your ship, you'll see it has one deck of guns, and there are two numbers in brackets [8-9]/[8/8] (or something much like that). The first is the class of cannon she may equip in that slot. Class 8 or 9. The second, is the class of Carronade she may equip, Class 8 only. If you then go to "Shop", select "Cannon", and then click the Class 8 tab, you'll get a list of cannon and carronades that are Class 8. That is what she can equip. If you want, you can also look at Class 9, but those will be smaller and likely not worth equipping. As to your PS - Once you've surrendered, you've lost your ship and aren't paying for repairs anyways, regardless of what happens to your ship after that. Meanwhile, the grasscombing lubber that fired on your surrendered ship - if it was his to keep, likely reduced the value of the ship by damaging it further. In short, once you've surrendered (and since surrendering doesn't really get you anywhere right now since you basically lose a durability whether you surrender or fight her til she sinks) it doesn't matter. That said, next time, keep firing at him until you sink. This will maximize your XP and gold you earn for fighting at no additional loss to you. This may change in the future. Good hunting sir!
  24. From what I understand the grant is account wide. The grant will stay on the account until redeemed by a character, after which, it will not be available to redeem if you delete that character. So you should be just fine.
  25. Well, you have assets in ports which you control on Server A. On Server B, that port has been captured. You go to Server B and your assets are in a place you can't get to them. It can be confusing. In Server A, your Nation has a lot of territory. They use that territory to build ships, create wealth, etc. On Server B, they don't have all of those ports. You take the wealth from Server A and use it to do things on Server B. Having different "realities" means that blockading a group would have to be done simultaneously on two (or more) different servers. Asset and resource denial are meaningless, and it's impossible (or nearly impossible) to conduct correct warfare between nations. It basically makes a huge mess of the conquest game that is Naval Action.
