Hunting is RNG... i have no idea who is commanding the "enemy ship" nor if I survive the raid. That doesn't stop me from trying. So the sequence is - RNG sail...RNG some ship is beyond the horizon... RNG tag position... akf or not...attack or not attack.... RNG opponent skill.... RNG what equipment and books and woods his ship has.... RNG if he makes many mistakes... RNG wind rotations.... RNG if I win or not... RNG If I win, check his hold. Embrace the unknown. It pays off.

Patch 27 - New Economy feedback.

When the traders arrive safely at the ports intended to sell the said resource. Who know what may have happened. Maybe the supplier ships were intercepted by raiders and said resources robbed. -

I'm glad i'm not in "right mind" in game then. -
@Sir Texas Sir That's exactly the point. Letting the newcomers find their place and their style by exploring all possibilities. They will be able to have dubloons, same as everyone else, in the open world and they will have no issues with teleporting back to their capital and then back to their first outpost with ease, given their rank allows it for a small fee. They are not mindless brutes that must do things the "correct" way as I do, or as you see or as any individual opinion dictates. As we all did, they will learn and become pros and have fun in the present design. Second, you know nothing about me or anyone else lending a hand to newcomers. You do it, we do it, everyone does it, problem is... there's not a right way to have fun. So meta'ing a newcomer from the start is "horrible". Teaching him how things can be used and let them decide and explore the game is so much better... even if our group ends in failure along them, and to this day still laugh about it.

Having a secret black market in whatever port(s), that would change everyday, and that would deal only in Dubloons but with an assortement of odd merchandise to buy/sell ( books, mods, exquisite woods ) all in limited quantities of course and limited money to buy from players....is a great idea IMO. ( hidden from API perusal of course ) -
Encouragement to sail, to chase, to escape, to do all the cool things of NA and chase that nice shiny gold that may well be hidden inside some enemy ship hold. The exploration of what is out there. No sir... never ever free. That's my take on it. And no, no, nwecomers not going to teleport 20 times... ever... they going to have to sail and get into a lot of trouble before they have the outpost even setup. Sorry to meta talk here but...A alt low rank is not a newcomer.

Took a 6th rate Kill mission against a 1x 4th rate. The rewards are really enticing, fair amount of dubloons and silver chestts, so it is one i'll keep in the journal to try until i do it. Best part is to fill the journal with Hunt and Search&Destroy missions and just sail and fight, and raid and whatever. Eventually they all come to be complete. Pve, PvP, Weekly kills, all contribute to the kill count in those missions, so when you suddenly reach port and check the journal and you see you have completed 3 missions at the same time is really a great feeling.

Now imagine that someone PVPs you on the way back with all of that, sinks you and takes the dubloons. 🤩 Was it PvE or PvP for them to get the dubloons ? -

Got Cherry Bomb'ed No gear fear on my end, no matter the ship i use. I even wipe everything i have and recreate character just to start anew and have a feel of the changes during early access. Will have time enough after release to let my character grow old and salty... -
Personally, and as someone that takes time before joining a group in all games I play - i tend to make my homework, have a feeling of how different groups work, by joining a few sessions with each I choose might be worthy for me, etc - being mandatory to join a clan may not be the best approach, especially just by looking at stats. What would be okay though would be to promote operations that bring the players to play along members of a clan. To promote the multiplayer, to bring players together and eventually open up interest to said player to carry on playing with those groups. This could be done the opposite way. Being, instead of leading new cadets to join a clan, to actually design the system to have clans offer themselves open to accept cadets to their operations - like a patrol zone squadron, or a Trade Convoy escort, or a PvP Mission ( when it comes ) - so cadets see the open slots and apply to them IF they want. Obviously, that specific task can only be completed by joining as a "cadet for that mission"; but having an entire operation based on the assumption of forcing to join the clan doesn't feel right... The rest of the ideas seem nice. I would even add, as an extra, a internal clan pvp leaderboard so the members can compete against each other for fun ( and slit each other' throats ).

Don't know how many times, but apparently seems like. In truth I sail a lot and have seen entire fleets of ships of the line 74 guns behind enemy lines. I am certain they didn't sail from the far side of the world. You said it yourself - saves time. One ships is only a nuisance. An entire fleet conquers an entire region. -

I agree. Not disagree. But the same mechanic allowed for entire Home Fleets to establish a Naval Base in a enemy port... 🤔 -

this removed the ability to be a real badass pro , and end a cruise by attack an AI trader to take refuge in enemy port, and operate indefinitely from enemy ports. But i get what you mean. Some eggs were broken... 😕 -
Pvp Rewards

It is a okay thing for Fleet 1 to be automatic, of couse balance with additional fleet slot ( 2 fleet ships ) costs 3 and the extra third costs 5 Fair and square IMO and would see a lot of capturing going on ( plus giving newcomer and veterans alike the opportunity to bring those fat traders back home ).- 43 replies

Correct ! He paid what he sees the dubloons are worth for him. And you can see for yourself the prices offered in LA Tortue... La Mona...etc and make your own judgement. A automatic exchange versus player made exchange. What is your preffered method ?
