  1. Someone correct me here but rewards are inside enemy hold. Fellows been getting dubloons by the hundreds in pvp from the sinking enemy holds, like 8 reward plus 320 or something in the enemy hold.

  11. For sure. Not against and agree with you, boarding system is not ideal and we all know that BUT it is what it is and many will use it. I'm unorthodox in my gameplay and never meta and always trying odd things. Think the only true boarder i did use ever was a Privateer with some 90 crew
  12. Is just a consequence, not a cause. I mean... they chose to do so... hence why complain that it could be even easier ? After all, ship knowledge is not locked behind anything. Is just tied to using the ship and everyone can do that. - get ship, sail ship, fight with ship, sink or get sunk, get another, sail and fight more - Was the best advice i was given by an opponent in this game. They were right. Eventually the slots get unlocked if the prevailing objective is the hunt, the port battle, the escort... in sum, get into a fight. PvE has its own rhythm and i'm glad it does. It fills in the gaps and gives a large sect of game population the "combat int he age of sail" feeling. But... like many things in games... things start to look less green when we game the game and rinse and repeat because... it makes things easier.
  13. Final Exam is odds 1:2.5 Normally, after that, a player should be able to work his way through 1:2 odds in PvE. Instead, for some reason, many favor the overpowering of AI with no challenge ( and abusing the distance "npc not shooting" bug ). Ofc it doesn't reward much... should reward even less when odds are in "grinder" favor.
  14. Capture, again and again, your favorite frigate model from NPC until you get a interesting one with Redoutable refit. Slab some barricades on top. Watch the horror strike the barbary pirates as they try to board you 🤣 ( disclaimer: not a support, myself, of the janky mods/books stuff... so... )
  15. Correct. PvE server will exist, but is NOT the Caribbean server regarding PvP opportunities
  16. No danger. No conquest. No port battles. How much "what else" do you need ? PvP, not PvE, give the Caribbean a sense of danger, daring and heroic deeds.
  17. PvE unlocks them way slower than PvP. Fives times slower. Even against a PvP loss PvE win will yield less. ( actually going versus AI in 1:5 odds will balance it out ) I'd say a good PB will unlock far more in the big ships than OW. Frigate rate in OW and thrown into PvP will unlock them fairly fast. Lower rates will do it in a couple battles. Farming AI is a choice.

Mechanics are in place for grouping and evading split up battles. - battle group - BR and ship numbers RoE - attack radius ( calculated for battle scale as in OW models are titan size ) Is there a benefit in NOT allowing split up battles ? That is, to have split battles to merge ? I mean... other than saving someone's bacon because they got tagged separate ? I mean, I dream for a 1:1 scale game like NA so ALL battles everywhere are happening in the same instance, but this suggestion makes no sense to me in the ruleset we have - warp travel and 1:1 instances.
  19. Better suggestions been given without resorting to DLC and without influencing the universal gameplay. Some of them are coming in the update by the way, if you pay attention to admin posts.
  20. Upon capture of port, 2 windows MUST be setup. No expenditure for timers. No cost for timers. Every Thursday clans MAY change ALL their ports timers. Even if it was conquered on Wednesday, matters not. Both separated, minimum by 4 hours and none closer than 2 hours to Maintenance.
  21. Sorry Crusty, no idea what you talking about when you bring RL into a game discussion. Managing how many repairs you will take is part of the game. I bet most take 5 cycles for a cruise. 3 for a pitched good battle, the rest for any eventualities. 5 cycles of each is more than 90 minutes.
  22. I like long battles. I didn't come to NA expecting 15 minutes arena shows. I plan for 90 minutes battles, if they take less it is okay as well. What do you do ? Expect all battles to last 15 minutes world of age of sail !?... Pffff....
  23. If "killed by allied player" award marks to "enemy players" sounds reasonable... but... Will we next ask that "ships sunk by friendlies to NOT sink until i looted them" ? i mean... it will not stop here ... we all know that.
