  1. It profoundly affects all that do play the game "on the deck" Let's hope it comes with the next fix list. Thank you for reporting captain.
  2. Do not look only to broadside weight. We do not have crew morale being battered into submission. Look to curve between broadside weight, damage resistance ( its own curve of thickness, HP and splintering ). That should give you a measure of Lethality, for comparison.
  3. This never gets old and it fits perfectly
  4. bla bla bla. you haven't done it all, nor did I. So stick to your experience, i'll stick to mine. once you see a prince do it to an Agamemnon you start to doubt your own sanity, just saying, but hey man, whatever you do, have fun.
  5. in port, go to your navy screen ( two anchors crossed ) right click the ship select tow request send it to a deep water outpost ( that you have previously established )
  6. Same as the Privateer doing it to a Rattlesnake Heavy. Sorry, but you get really focused on only the xebec aspect when the mechanic is everywhere... you just have to explore the game
  7. Variables at play. Did crew shock a couple like that and not only Xebecs but Niagaras and other lower board ships. This is Q&A and Question in about "best boarding mods".
  8. Happy Birthday !!!!
  9. Can we improve the Admiralty by "greying out" the Books / Blueprints / whatever items one already has ? So the list would show all but the ones one already possess to be with a mark or different colour.
  10. They deliver the resources to the ports. They are the euro traders. IF they deliver the resources why should they sail out with the resources they just delivered and not with almonds and hard coin ? Maybe nail them en route to the port. I assure you you will get - white oak, love oak, teak, bermuda cedar, loads of oak, coal and iron. And doubloons.
  11. James Young, ( or Yonge ) from the HMS Alcmene, descendants still take advantage of his prize taken back in 1799. Your "great wars" scoreboards are meaningless. Different navies during those wars ( and air forces ) used different systems, with allies promoting the squadron and axis germany the individual... but the age of sail, and previous eras even, has one unique feature - the prize. Be it a ship or the sacking of a town. If the prize were a warship, and repairable, usually the admiralties would bought it at a fair price with usually a added "head money" of 5 pounds per enemy sailor aboard the captured warship. Prizes for a captured ship was often such that a crew could make a year's pay for a few hours' fighting. Truth is, you won't find a Nelson at Trafalgar showing off prizes. Or 'de la Ronciere at Fort Royal. Their task was NOT to capture prize but to defeat the enemy fleet - which they did in spectacular fashion - i'd say the frenchman much more than Nelson though. Anyway, we diverge from the idea here.
  12. No idea, but i think they are all enabled as per being screens from dev server side I guess. We see the entire matrix though. Doubt the UI will be that intrusive. Although the active squares could be coloured the same "sandpaper" beige as the rest of the UI...
  13. That's what i'm wondering...
  14. Looks like the Gun decks and above decks emplacements and the amount of guns there ? Or crew ? What is interesting is the ammo types above. 1 - double ball 2 - chain 3 - ball ???? 4 - grape 5 - double charge
  15. “Among the innumerable good things I was in possession of there was on board one of the prizes three cases of the best Bordeaux claret, which Captain Hudson had directed to be sent to him and Captain Chinnery, of the Daphn. We were keeping as usual Christmas Day, and were desirous to drink good wine; we therefore drank the three cases out, and the following day filled them with claret of a very inferior sort out of the casks, corking them with the same long corks, and sealing them all over with a deal of attention and care; which answered every purpose, as the captains, on drinking the wine, observed, it might be very good claret, but for their parts they found very little difference in that and the cask claret.” journal of Rear-Admiral Bartholomew James, 1752-1828 -------------------------------------------------------------- A Holy and Serene and Safe Season to all captains, developers and respective families. Three Huzzahs for a great age of sail 2019 !
  16. The Clerk announces where they are.
  17. Sovereign has a good point. On my behalf i'd rather see, as a privateer, how much trade net worth i captured. Don't care about kills. Capture is all.
  18. Diana open to crafting would be awesome xmas present
  19. Do not detract prospective captains from achieving their fun and age of sail experience. Our community is very diverse, cannot state this enough. From age of sail buffs, simulator aficionados, crafting game fans, and mmo'ers, we have all and all have their own points of view that may, in many instances they are totally opposite. No voice is not universal. Please, always present opinions as your voice, your own, not everyone's. Please.
  20. Unique accounts ?
  21. Age of sail is about protect trade, establish trade control and mess up enemy trade. Funny how NA sandbox gives that same overview and opportunity. Hitting such convoy is very proper, no matter how much salt or dislike is presented. Thread moved to Caribbean news.
  22. not only boarding, but also speed, sail forces, reload, thickness... etc
  23. oddly enough my brain always reads P2W and play to win can't cope with all this slang and short forms Anyway,, surprise note, 1500 dubloons + cannons, how much is that ?
  24. Example Nock Gun is amount 0.2 - that's 20% of the crew ( armed with firepower ) at accuracy 3 I wouldn't believe Nock guns to be that common or even uncommon They were fairly rare, unreliable and prone to misfire, very slow reload ( although epic when they fire all barrels ) and non-standard. I'd say a couple per ship, not 20% of the musketry crew.
