Shoot the sail

like double tapping Q or E or Z or C ? It is a feature and uses the same yard turn speed it simply goes full turn. -
Shoot the sail
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Justme's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Not questioning anything just saying some of the battles develop like that mainly because of bad tags or good defense tagging, which are the norm in pvp. When a tag is successful and the ship is worth sinking, it will be shot to pieces. -
Shoot the sail

Keep running if you are so inclined, keep being tagged, keep spreading the gospel of Pirate Jesus. If not inclined to run, deliver the gospel through cannon fire and rum filled boarding parties and groggy marines. If all fails, well, that's also Naval Action. Out of jokes, it is a tactic, very frenchy in historical nature, true to doctrine, and yields good results in capturing enemy ships. -
Proposal for Pirate mechanics
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Skully's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
This is totally dependent on player choice. You cannot force anyone to pvp no matter what. Some of us ONLY do pvp already whatever the odds. I agree with this IF nation are tailored historically as well. This is not even a subject. Communities keep changing nations all the time, even servers. _____________________________ I come back to my initial Pirate idea. Pirate nests deeply encroached, and unassailable, in every Nation territory. So for each Nation you have 1 Pirate Nest. Raids - pirate attacks port. If successful It destroys every building and steals everything inside including parked ships, store stuff, etc. There you go. -
You are a believer in humanity. I like that. The number 1 will work as much for us as for the ambushers. They will simply logout. And yesterday I tried to logout from the screen and couldn't, maybe a glitch but okay with me, had to run the gauntlet and reach port for a much needed break. Number 2 yes, the positional spawn can be as spectacular as can be absurd. Maybe worth to limit the entry point regarding to position in the OW relative to the open battle ? Number 3. Okay. It will work both ways then. Continuous tag. Chain tag. I do not agree with join battles while invulnerable. It will return us to the previous state of battle hoping - was dreadful and little could be done. Number 4. If the zone is hot the hunting group will move to another area and repeat the process. One thing is for sure, it will become extremely easy for find prey, I simply have to roam around.

1. Two hours per combat. That's half an hour search, chase and tag routine. Plus one hour and a half of combat. I need to logoff from the end screen or extended timeout for at least half an hour breaks in prolonged sessions. 2. Odd solution. Hunting groups do not operate this way. Defense groups rushing to reinforce the victims will be nullified. That is unless the tag area is ... 2 minutes distance...as it is now. Maybe explain this one better ? 3. Hard to netcode. It is the client that is dependent, not the server. 4. It will promote camping of battle spots. Groups of corsairs will simply go to a mission area, sit and wait. I wish number 2 to be better explained, given it is one that might deserve attention. But for all it is worth we should move away from the system we have now, maybe rethink the box.

Not doubting anything but how can you go sleepy mode and click YES twice when the buttons are in different places ? If a player clicks twice in a row in the same spot it cancels it.

I do not mind paying high value to the companies that enforce a healthy gaming environment, whatever media. The same negative aspect can be found also from not behind the screen. Tabletop gaming clubs and stores with gaming table have their own share of toxic individuals. Is easy to fix and better than a mute. Simply put, after a while they can't get a game going with anyone. It worked wonders to their behaviour. In internet gaming it should be the same. I vote not to play with someone. If there's a good amount of "block" choices that person simply cannot join that arena. Hell if that person has block votes left and right he simply gets blocked from playing al'together. And I am sure any company reserves the right to support a customer in regards to his behaviour.

I like the finite nature of the Seats of power, definitely. Also the difference between Seats to reflect the different natures of the gameplay with representatives for the crafters, traders and more importantly, navy. I can see Navy adressed in two levels, for strategic and operational levels in Navy Board and Admiralty. Given the whole scenario could very well point out to a more nation wide control of ports maybe give more important to Regional Capitals and satelite ports and develop the points system in regards of an entire region, usually 1 Regional Capital and 4 more ports I think, and then work the way up to Nation power points.

It surely presents itself with a lot of issues of a different nature of those we have at the moment. Granted at the moment if a fictitious free for all in paper and the social status quo is holding out. The Port timers are a different discussion al'together but suffice to say this method would simply rely on multiple timers per day ( to grant everyone a go at Conquest ). Maybe I overlooked the Limitative factors that Galileus posts up regarding the ports ownership, especially with a majority of a council blocking all venues in the frontiers. I usually tend to believe that the good will is everywhere but forget that many play to limit others play, sorry for that. Have to find something else then.

Where have all the traders gone?
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Justme's topic in Patch Feedback and General discussions
Hehe. Well hitting a player trader for 2 silver was mildly entertaining. -
Oh, both are a certainty, twice at the very least.

Or maybe it opens new venues for the National protocol with Lords and Fleets expanding to other regions. The In-fighting is an issue in a divided nation already, with lots of interesting flaming and drama. Now if a disgruntled group has the option to simply go away from the nation it should be felt. The love for the Nation can and is, and will be, a stone in the way for many that simply, at this moment with a simple social agreement, bow to the wish of the biggest seats in a council. I can see the issue of the offline situation and this must be imperative to solve, if not now definitely in the future.

You are right. We must rely on trials ourselves What we could have is the exact powder charge of the guns. Is it 1/3 ?
