  1. -1 Trader or -1 Trader Raider... well... all comes down to choices I guess. I am all against solo mechanics that kill the social part of the game. After all asking clan buddies or nation chat for a escort is not hard and there's always help. But hey if Fleets are done smart by all means, close the discussion. AI is dumb as a door and won't stop a boarding.
  2. You mean an automatic transition into battle instance as soon as the Engagement circle distance ( 25% less radius that it is now ) is reached. This effectively transitions my good wind and attack position without any 30 seconds deflection shield Everything passing or in the area is ported into the instance.Sounds good.

  4. I already think twice before engaging traders with escort, usually by buddies or tagging along a npc fleet roaming around... ... yes, let's make player traders unreachable now that the game balanced them INTO PLAYING other than teleporting.

  7. Pagan Pete, no idea if it will help but issues with Shadow Play are reported with anything above 1080. Also recording must be entire screen device ( will also record any alt tabs and so forth ofc )
  8. I must thank you for the numbers but that is a tiny part of the equation, sorry. The broadside weight of the Essex gives it a hell of an advantage over the Frigate. The Frigate sailing abilities gives it a hell of an advantage over the Trincomalee. The Trincomalee speed and tacking ability gives it ample opportunity in a fight versus the Essex. Belle Poule fits all roles, a very versatile ship and equally capable to the Frigate. Pirate Frigate cannot be built so it automatically loses against module capability, not are the built in characteristics exceptional being basic at best. All are solid representatives of the 5th rates, no matter what guns you equip, what modules you decide to Setup, etc. What is exactly the problem ?

Reversing to the chain gankbattles and invisible/invulnerable battles hopping is not an option. 2 minutes exist for a very strong reason. and if you think 3, 4, 5, etc is better try to think it through, it Works both ways. Your way and the guys wanting to gank way. it has nothing to do with nations, pirates or whatever.
  11. Multiplayer. Companions. Learn together. Test ships, get into trouble, fight to get out of them, etc, all together with a couple buddies. No one needs to learn on its own. Where has all the social fun gone ? Is it all power puf gaming nowadays ?
  12. Totally. For some reason I hade/have loads of fun in Elite as well but it has another way of dealing with smuggling and piracy is way harder due to instant escapes but okay.

One everyday example of content: Indiaman convoy, say like 5 or 6 of you, with a couple buddies escorting. Seen it a few times, full player driven content. But yeah... Oh no I'm not gonna risk it...   16. Waht if said players are in command of trader ships ? What if those trader ships are in a "safe area" ( whatever that is )... !?!? Sorry but doesn't cut it. It is a stab in my kidneys.

  20. Let's go through this. You vaporize pyrats ( I hope you do, too many nationals which play pirates atm ) and basically what will happen is 87,3% of them will go back to their nations, the rest being the pirates that are seldom at home waters and playing their "true" pirate RP game. So you will run out of pirates to hunt... sorry, gank I mean... regularly. What then ? All nations shake hands and say GG and close the game ? pffff. naval action....

  22. The idea as it is presented in the OP is simple and seems to be a perfect multiplayer and involving the whole nation, adds a new layer for a purpose for the missions and trade runs. Glad to see a mechanic being put for a build up for a war fleet instead of abstract "paintball flag" as we have now Also the opportunity to disrupt build up with pvp, and trade raid is excelent. Just have a question about this disruption - has to be in a specific area or ... ?! Another, any enemy faction can disrupt or the one being targetted by the war fleet ?
  23. Remembering : - Wind strengths ? - Resources economy - less AI more player run ? - possible ROE changes ? - Translation of weather into battle instances ? I know it is just a general layout and thank you for it, gives an idea of the timeline and aims-
