  1. Still US shall build ships up to 4th rates and pirates will have to steal them. Changes nothing at all on the fact that pirate ships is more in regards of their use by pirates than the design itself. I cannot dettach any interesting look onto pirate ships from the difficulties. Despite he 40+ guns on the QAR ( being the start of the brainstorm ) it meant a logistic nightmare given the disparity between guns mounted, from 1 to 6 pounders, from a variety or origins, swedish, spanish. They had to adapt to what they had and on occasion they would steal canvas, powder, shot and water and let the prize go free. No, if we pull the pirate card - and I love the idea of having the Outlaws - we cannot simply make them all positive without any concessions of credible realism. Pirates adapted the ships they captured. They didn't build anything other than pirogues and kinky sloops.
  2. Topic is about ship packs. Given all pirate ships are "national" ships we are all on accord.
  3. All defender alliance Attack PvP on a PB enabled on the region should extend the PB timer window ? If defenders sink Attackers fleet on screen all good. If Attackers go through screen they still have time to initiate the PB due to time extension.
  4. A large part yes. Many players like the opposite part of the sizes no matter the "nation". Like that question, being a french design, built in dutch shipyards under commission by the royal navy. Is it a french, dutch or british ship ?
  5. Any more wording suggestions ?
  6. Ain't a job, more like a hello kitty sideways. Damn tavern talk
  7. I reckon any model builders team, really wanting to go 62 pounder balls deep into it, can reach them directly through Admin message It is my understanding that a KS needs a defined project and a team to see it through !?
  8. There's a few accounts. The particular case I pointed was a Portuguese man'owar. Silly enough she has making the pass of a noble family with entourage and a diamond cargo IIRC. Was listed as a 70 gun but due to cargo needs the complement had to be reduced to find space. The pirates did leave the entourage and family their older ship and passed with the man'owar but due to shortage of hands to man it properly they eventually abandoned her for a more manageable ship. Regarding a Pirate ship pack it is a odd one given the ships were simply captured, adjusted as needed - mainly the rigging - and then used until decayed/lost. Maybe the new shipbuilding system gives us that already to balance some of the ship characteristics to specific needs.
  9. They worked as intended to prize ships. But he had an issue. He had to equip her with whatever cannons he could find and many had measure differences. In NA we don't have that issue. Interesting that the QAR is brought up. Biggest ship I could find being sailed by pirates was a 70 gun man'owar. Never used for raiding and abandoned eventually. She had half the cannon when they took her far north of Madagascar.
  10. Is a figurehead for a landship of course it's wrong.
  11. Prizing a ship and cargo or sinking it with cannon shot is not even something worth referring when talking "robbers at sea". Hence lot's of low weight shot.
  12. Use the Bahamas for a mini-Conquest.
  13. OW, ships far away, full zoom in on spyglass and yeah they vibrate a lot. Gotcha. Did verify the same issue.
  14. 30 mins before a PB the screen fleets are already active. At the bare minimum there will Signaling screeners on the lookout.
  15. True but the multi instanced ( depending of the players connections btw as they are grouped by the leader or by package drop handicap ) takes care of it even with the capital ships and the warzone goes on until solved so everyone in every TZ can play. Back to NA. The road to conquest, the moving of the invasion fleet, the response of the opponent, the final show down. It should be, at least, a progressive chain of events on its own and open to all if they so wish it.
  16. That's good. Thanks for sharing part of your CV Regarding you major quirk ( I also have it but for different reasons ), think of a way to seamlessly connect the OW maritime chart into a battle chart, using a 1:1 day cycle ( cycle is equal in battle and OW ) and the appropriate time warp transposition into battle. Example tested: the entire diameter of the 2 cricles RoE 2- 4 minutes depending on wind. If you do it in battle it will take you from 30 - 1 hour. 30 minutes is a fair wind from La Mona to Hat Island, that's a third of the West Indies.
  17. This I agree. Regarding the wargame part I cannot but compare it to other conquest system where any individual can contribute with whatever activity. One of the "rules" I've been studying the most ( regarding my own tabletop board ) is the way to achieve the same "victory" effect by different means. While combat is the muscle, the rest must be be the sinew and bones. From trade wars, to supplies, to politics. Sailing about for prolonged times without combat happens often and is not kind for the action junkies ego shooter kinds which in that regard are relegated to Conquest and Port Battles - which obey to schedules which obey to organized fleets which often demand presence in voice comms So back to the design board. How to engage everyone of whatever playstyle and not only your, or his, or hers, or my playstyle but a whole no matter where we are in the world no matter what nation we play.
  18. Angle it and you will tank, especially given the absurd WoW-syndrome modules and perks ( offtopic but everything in NA is interwoven). Also crew damage with empty broadside from ball is...not catastrophic. One of the "skill gaps" noticeable is the use of things that are broken, on pair with extremely efficient wind/crew pair with stabilized gunnery. So improving the feeling is a good thing. Also, not a single proper mil sim shows enemy info, from air combat to foot slogging, from any era.
  19. Moving some of the game aspects towards a more "dark souls / exanima" aspect is not comparable to a hardcore vs casual situation, and not having the information pasted all across the screen is definitely not a move towards hardcore. It is simply transfering the responsability to the player of worrying about his own ship while not knowing about the enemy ship. The things NA misses the most at all levels is mandatory decision making. At the moment we have it all without any exclusivity of choices - chose one forfeiting others.
  20. If you notice in the tests there are no more empty bars tanking. Impossible to pull that out now.
  21. Flags came down to ALTs blocking gameplay. Funny how memory fades away.
  22. ~ Proof requirements vary from case to case. Best is video and most correct server time. of the situation being brought Additional info is always helpful. ~
  23. You missed a spot there "doctor". C'mon look lively. What this deck spotless. Get to it. And after that someone will have to make bait for the fishing. I guess you just volunteered...Doctor.
