Let's look to the short amount 300 players every evening scenario in the new system. Time invest will not be different. Money will have different value. Amount of successful raids ( surpassing investment amount in one go ) will be the same, average of 1/8. If you capture NPC Les Gros Ventre/TBrigs/TSnows with schooners you break far more than even. Investment in crew, ship and guns is sustainable in the short run. Plus you can keep yourself a self imposed insurance, full coverage, to ensure you can go out and even if something goes wrong you can cover it. If you capture NPC Les Gros Ventre/TBrigs/TSnows with Brigs you still are on the shiny side of things. It is a great investment for the output, from a humble Brig up to a Niagara. The combat capabilities regarding raiding and the survival if needed be can be covered fairly comfortable with the gains and again by keeping a stash on the side to cover a 100% insurance at any risk. If you capture NPC Les Gros Ventre/TBrigs/TSnows with Frigates you are on the red. Requires proper planning in the medium term. Change NPC for Player and you can see where the bang for the buck is going. The investment pays off. More so because the player ship will be exactly what the player is sailing and not a basic. So a extremely fine built ship will be valuable, if there's anyone out there wanting to buy it. Ship market prices will be convoluted in the first month. After the crafting societies, trade runners and buyers set themselves up the train becomes unstoppable, same as before. Still: - XP for boarding is necessary.

All posts are to be focused on the following topics. All off topic will be removed henceforth. Hold load now affects speed and acceleration. Cannons affect hold. (Hold numbers and weights are not final and will be updated more this week). Cannons now can be crafted (workshop required). Longs and carronades can only be crafted by players and are not available from NPCs. Contracts on cannons can be placed now. Military NPCs now sometimes drop repairs as loot Medkit was replaced by RUM (why did not we think of it the first time). Surgeon now needs rum to fix sailors (or cut them). Medkit blueprint eliminated Sugar added to all regions as resource. Pickle and Privateer now require basic cutter to unlock 3rd slot (not lynx and not cutter as before) Boarding preparation growth increased Perk points are given to player faster - you will get 10 perk points 2x earlier. Crew requirement lowered on 4lb,6lb and 12lb carronades Tow to nearest deep water port do not check the hold weight any more 4th rate ports and shallow water regional (county) capitals now spawn national NPCs Redwood logs and forests abandoned; blueprints using redwood now use lignum Pine is merged with Fir and is now Fir from today. Pine logs and forests abandoned, blueprints have changed Fire damage is increased by 25% Split function somewhat improved Several bugs fixed More bugs probably added

Just flag the ones that are outright lies or provide no information at all. And this is for all games. I do prospect a lot new products and the amount of junk I have to read before I find something worth reading is ridiculous.

answer: 1 durability whereas before was 5 or 4. Also, no more qualities.

No loss, all win, rewards for unfurling sails, gold for just being there, would be the definition of "happy". There's no more discussion regarding that better wait for arena product. For each landlubber that dislikes OW sailing there's a happy sailor in NA for the OW entire bundle experience. Let's concentrate on what is now because "would, should, could, maybe, if, perhaps,..." is a long story lasting half a year of pain of no OW life.

Captured Player ships will be worth. Captured player fleet ships will be worth. NPC ships will always be grey.
-
Squadron got increased to 4 ships including the player ship. Greed might say take all 4 ships Indiamans. Caution will tell take 2 LGV and 2 warships.

There's schooners, there's brigs, there's lake ships and light frigates, there's heavy frigates and ships of the line... Any issue with use some of those now and then ? Some are more costly to build, in resources and time, than others, pretty normal.

Variety of activities is always good. -
There's always more traders than raiders. Even in the old build. Thing about traders is that they will be raided, eventually, so what better bait for PvP than escorting them...

Admiralty. In port screen, top menu. Exchange Marks for whatever one you need.

Fully laden ship could carry good momentum even if she would hold low in the water. (( another reported hint when chasing a potential prize was, at spyglass detail distance to check how low she hangs in the waterline. A experienced captain could guess how much cargo would be being carried )) I wonder if there's a chance to "mask" the nature of ships in the distance. After all sail plans could be deceiving.
-
Thank you. (( One of the ruses used my sea rovers used was to roll ballast to one side, make the lady have a limp and heel, then drop the skiffs and let them drag a bit more. From the distance it looked like a heavily laden trader ship. )) I guess the mass affects everyone. So taking barrels of rum and repairs parts should also affect the warships no ?

Solid hotfix. Eager to test the mass affecting speed.

Propose new gun types

The Medium is the middle between a carronade planks battering ram and a high velocity pen long. It is a compromise choice. It has a bit of both but is not special as any of those. IRL powder charge was more important than a half a dozen inches barrel length. -

one thing you can immediately spot is with less pen of shot you splinter more ( shatter the planking ) but do less dmg to structure. -
They miss a lot, sorely a lot, but I get your point. Did vote No because there's no middle option. I am all for making them "more human", make mistakes but also have them use chasers to keep the target in the fight, use repairs, use grape when shooting at a boarding, and what else humans can do. No talking tactics, just mechanics.

I'm rank 3 or 4 if i'm not mistaken.

Propose new gun types

I am happy with the guns we have. The 36 pounder could be added of course. Other than that, no. Only thing I can see expanded, more due to economy is the material of the barrels. -
Interesting. Damage was fairly similar. 9 pounder mediums vs 24 pounder carronades, both 20 count. Ah well, thanks for the clarification. Guess there's a few more things to discover while fighting AI
-
Ah thanks Also tested something and never noticed it happening before. Attacked a NPC LGV with a Mercury and dragged a NPC fleet that was nearby. While messing up upwind and tacking back and forth got boarded and lost. NPC let go of his LGV and switched over to the Mercury. As I barely ever did fight PvE on live servers I do not know if this is a normal occurrence.

I am sailing a mercury at the moment. 135 crew. Even if I lose down to 90, when returning to port I only have to hire 5. Is there a free pool ?
