  1. Thread is for specified hotfix discussion as described in opening post.
  2. Keep your "need to post something" urge in check please. This is a Suggestion thread, not a Tavern brawl nor National propaganda.

  3. Go on a nation tour during EA, take advantage of this phase wipe to do that. Join the navy they said, see the world they said. Yadda Yadda.

  4. It is just a battle against a roaming AI. Do it !
  5. Circle is small now. AI is more sparse with greater focus on trade and less on patrols although they do exist. Do testbed. A smart trader though will plan the cruise as in old time. And try to take advantage of this one fleet at least part of the way. But the tag circle is now quite small.
  6. And I think there should be a cool down until you can press it again.

  7. Each player has its own rhythm. Can't assume how and when and why. Mechanic has strong pros and strong cons.

  8. Won't disagree. Was just stating the difference between losing and not winning, which seems to be a conflicting notion for some.
  9. 1 minute equals how much ? 60 nautical miles ? That a lot of sea.
  10. You can continue to be the wolf. I do not see any changes that conflict with that playstyle. Other that having more consequence on the action, rather than being totally focused only on the reward. P.S - players dumping cargo is a loss for that player. The raider simply does not win. Doesn't lose anything.
  11. If Flag Marks are tied to regions, meaning you'd have to collect marks in the target region to assemble a Flag for that region, then it might...perhaps...maybe...
  12. Tavern talk. It all comes down on how many flagons we have already put down the rail. Could even be a rap battle in appropriate age of sail lingo.
  13. Yes. Raided resources and burnt fleets should be player assets. Medway raids, sacking of Cartagena, etc.

  14. The preference of Hostility over Flags was due mainly to the misuse of the flag mechanics. Blocking each other and so forth. Both systems, if nothing is left unchecked, are excellent and worth trying as a mix. Flags for Raids would steal away the idea of raids being suprise attack.

  15. Will look into that when I have more time, kind of limited in NA time at the moment, a couple sessions per week, but I am not alarmed if that is indeed the case. If the idea is to add a career simulation ( with 3x pvp should be pretty straight forward progression ) it can be fine tuned for sure. As a prototype, the idea doesn't seem that far fetched.
  16. I was looking to some real life career progressions and funny enough new commissions to newly laid keels was given to officers that have proven themselves in previous ships.

  17. Newcomers won't know. They will play as they have to. They can't simply hire more crew on the spot. Alas, as Siegfried puts it, if you don't redeem anything ( fresh as a newcomer ) you won't have that dilemma. You simply play with the hand you are dealt and learn as you go.
  18. I do that already. While we vow for a asymmetric world based on player decision making, at the very least the table layout should be the same So keep the GPS or remove it. The option of not using it is already there and plenty of players do not need to zoom in to know, give or take, their relative position. Exact location is used as a homing beacon for interception fleets, other than the "skill" of the player at relaying information, that is my take on it. Anyone can "copy paste" a string of numbers. Keeping an eye on yer whereabout... now that takes a bit more "effort". The immersion value of
  19. Both options got merits but Equal rules. Either we like it to stay or we wish it to go. As both options have merit we are discussing both.
