RvR Balancing
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Taranis's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Resource availability. The more a area is explored by player production the faster the pool of resources gets depleted; aka. dynamic by nation population. So necessity to move to new areas - by conquest or trade - and let the exhausted areas rest. ( obviously no meters visible, everything by "feeling" and yielded results as guide ) Also it is credible with history - silver mines in Panama got depleted, soil got exhausted by tobacco plantation and entire tracts of land simply ceased to produce anything due to sugar cane intensive plantation. -
A letter to Snow Flake, The Truth Hurts
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to JobaSet's topic in National news
The eagerness for symmetrical balance after the scenario has been designed is abysmal retrograde. Each instance is one battle in a campaign; if you really need to stand above imagine a "infinite" size club with "infinite" number to tables to play battles. RoE is the battle design - deployment zones, forces in battle, commanders, miniatures. It is rules by a very efficient system of area of attack which will define which forces will be present in that specific battle scenario. Signaling is akin to "Flank March" rules as used by many wargames. Adds an extra edge but is not definite in the outcome. A always open scenario for all battles ( let's leave outlaw battles out of the way ) is simply retrograde in the sense it neither promotes a set piece battle ( 1 event in a global campaign ) nor contributes to the 2 essential systems of a simulated combat game - time and distance. We are missing essential ruleset but is not at the "scenario" level. That is covered in excellence by the RoE in place. -
Ranking based on skill
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Captain Mulec's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
Given the XP ( and gold ) already work different in testbed and will eventually see the light into production... ... any of the new system ( or suggested system as you do ) only makes 100% sense if we ALL start totally from ZERO on release. We are all ranked up, we don't care about what system is in place. The upcoming one is good, actually very good. Alas only newcomers will really feel it. -
You playing with full screen turned on or window mode ? asking this due to the same issue having been reported before and running in window mode solved it for good.

No. West europeans would be left out. We can't play at CET times, it is too early.

The fight versus the RAKER was entertaining, through Joba's stream. Given the odds i'd say he almost managed to win -
Davos says it all in one line. Fun first

Good looking If this is a prototype you are definitely on the right path Link us the channel

Can't. You can ignore boards by customizing your feed on the top or ignore selected users content.

Nothing wrong with that happening. Devs want to see how the two servers will be used. IfEU renders itself "unused" or if Global render itself "unused" or alas if both actually grow up a lot. It is another test. End of.

Do not assume EVER others do not have families, jobs, mortgages, hobbies and a multiple other pass time activities. Also do not assume anything about me. I am a globalist, always. But also respect decision made by the Devs. You guys just can't seem to underhello kittyingstand that is NOT about YOU or the OTHERS. Amazes me how the hell some folk have time for multiple accounts just to mess up with each other. It is really ... unhealthy.

The funny part of it is that the majority of players that will stick to Global don't give a rats ass about what this salty forumer Global server hello kittyers ( yeah you read it right ) keep preaching with their hate towards the EU server decision. What they are accomplishing, in my point of view is alienating themselves more and more to a corner while trying to make everyone around feel bad for some sorry reason. Ridiculous and childish. Let the damn thread flow until we are fed up with it sound like a good compromise until NN is finally reformed as announced a while ago. Then instead of pushing pus around festered wound they can scratch their own I-R-BABOON arses.

In Forum Name Changes
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to OneEyedSnake's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
You can do it on your own, there's 3 changes allowed. Regarding mandatory changes, has been discussed before and decided not to. A largo portion of the community though does use the same names. If there's any error regarding the forum name change system, please do screenshot it and report it. -
Keep personal related assumptions in check. Do not post something that you are sure will fire back. The TV Show is not your classic puritan victorian era swashbuckling story that adorned our imaginations since we read the Treasure Island for the first time.

That's the beauty of propaganda, turn a ugly spot into a golden victory

We must rise above such petty squabbles At least write a story about it, embellish it with tales of bravery and stuff. You know, good propaganda ;)

It is a game based on credible historic data, from ship plans to territorial holdings in the west indies, spanish main and southern young united states. The same way I do not see UFOs in a combat flight sim depicting the Battle of Britain I cannot picture ghost ships in two centuries of naval warfare in the caribbean. Galleons !? By 1670 they were way behind in timeline.

[PVP1-EU] The US is allied with GB no more!
Hethwill, the Red Duke replied to Christendom's topic in National news
Non-aligned with 52 green votes already with the red climbing regarding France. I do not see any changes to be honest ... same old same old... but definitely a change in pace and time to nag some lobster meat.
