  1. Hmmm Hodo, I think you are on to something here, maybe even historical. Nations assuming they can work together, eradicating pyracy, which is full of traitors in its essence.
  2. I was thinking of the Battle Group itself being created as a flag to a PB, Fleet IS the flag, hence the Fleet having to sail to the PB. But who could form the "flag fleet" ? Highest hostility scorer ?
  3. So per week, each player, of a nation, that has actively participated in Conquest, by kills in PB , and sum of assists in PB equal to a kill, or by active hostility raising with a a score no less than the average ( min score - max score ) would receive a Victory Mark. ??
  4. Okay, Fair observation. Also, can't the basics be taught while fighting the trader and even getting the small reward it carries ? I mean, it even helps the newcomer. If not Newcomer, IMO, then properly train with AI fleets, no ? Even raise hostility in enemy waters, in pvp server, and oh, might even get molded in a pvp battle if enemy shows up. being a bit naif I know. With so much content open in the world I see little purpose in having a laboratory for it. Even Crafting builds can be tested with OW content.
  5. A gunner doesn't ignite the fuse knowing how the smoke will billow. It will spread to other places oh it will.
  6. Who let them grow that strong !? Ah ! need to sink that 1st rate even before it is born
  7. Well, kind of. There's big enough fleets roaming about in enemy territories to be able to entertain a training wing, from 6th rates up to 1st rates. Ah yes, of course, there's risk of damage. Regarding teaching basics, attacking an AI trader works perfectly.
  8. Small steps are needed for such a large population. First they really need to start escorting their own convoys. Remember, convoys attract raiders and...well...raiders are always in unexpected places. Hence there's no safe places other than under the protection of buddies. After that starting to respond to regional intruders... and not scurry to port. In a general sense that is. But they have a nice territorial split between clans. My map is almost complete.
  9. PvP is back on the menu boyz !
  10. Seen this ages ago and just remembered it hence here it is. Chap illustrates in such a glamorous 3D modelling sequence way how complex it can be to craft a small ship such as the Cutter we have in game. From the laying of the keel up to the final furnishings and cables. Traders and Shipbuilders would have a game of their own inside the game if ever ... Enjoy. https://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=33757
  11. Assists are rewarded as well according to the amount of help they gave. If there's no assist registered the amount of damage was simply of no consequence.
  12. Some Surprises standing rigging will disagree with that statement. But to each its own
  13. Is that a reason or a excuse not to PvP ? Because there's a lot of build out there, not all of them speed, doing PvP. And the majority isn't in Bellonas or 4th rates.
  14. That's what has been suggested by most of the less gaming more challenging historical values crowd. Rock top historical values equal captain's knowledge and modifications made on ship. Work down from there. For a flat change I would reduce all present %% values to half and below.
  15. Cedar is penetrated very easily but doesn't splinter as much. Cedar melts like snow under carronades. Some opponents were out of structure before the planks were gone.
  16. 1 for Control, 2 for Conquest, 3 for Loss.
  17. You mean the models themselves, correct ?
  18. anyway, how does the Clerk announce a kill in no region ?
  19. I consider that a good feature I don't get marks for capture.
  20. Please take topics not related to the primary subject of the thread to a new discussion thread in the Tavern or any other place you see fit. Thanks.
  21. Fleeing from perceived equal match, a 32 guns versus a 40 guns could be seen as equal, could lead to court by RN rules of engagement. But in a nutshell you said it correct.
  22. Leave particular server politics out of here. Why 15 or 20 points ? I think the single digits work perfectly. 1 point per conquest. 2 points per loss of region. - forces a counter attack to regain 1 single lost point and deny that same point to the enemy. Technically a sucessfull attack then countered by a loss puts it at 0 level between two nations. RiderZ has a strong point. Diplomacy becomes important as long as it suits the needs. Once the biggest contenders are dealt with, former allies may become enemies.
