"please nerf ship because modules make it too powerful" Seriously... read that very very carefully. -

Do not confuse experience the age of sail with PvE/PvP in the game. Please... I totally get the need to more... something... like opportunity to export the session log for you to use in your NA club logbook, or a clan map where we can place names in places, I don't know, just shooting random stuff here... BUT wanting to promote a "life in the caribbean during the age of sail" in a alternate history line is what many many many player are doing. I must remember myself everyday, this is not a reenactment. This is a reinterpretation by means of a game. Many players wish nothing more than enacting "master&commander" duels all day long. Are they wrong ? No. It is their call of experience age of sail, pure grit combat one frigate on one frigate. Others go on a "captain blood" tv series type of thing. Like in the tabletop, imagination must be a element or else it is nothing but metal/plastic and rules and dice. -
Nope Crusty, no way, no one is to let the arms down keep rolling the boulder. There are others ways for sure. There are more SOLs sailing around than 32 gun frigates and non full rigs. Think about that when connecting the dots. Once that part is accepted by us, with birth giving pains of how hard building a SOL is, then we can look to how powerful they really were. Funny how things are ; they could really be queens of Conquest and certainly be extremely challenging, almost suicidal to attack in a corvetter, but I guess we rather have it it extremely easy construction, negligible really when compared to realism without selectivity. At this stage I am out of ideas other than shot being truly dangerous but SOLS would have to be really rare, as we are playing the game many asked for - broadside to broadside - maybe just not the way they imagined it to be.
-
Maybe rework true broadside weight to make people think twice ? I mean, can you imagine what a 74 would do to a brig or a 26/32 gun cruiser if the latter makes one single mistake....!...? Or what a 120 gun would do to a 64 ? Maybe rework spawn distance for warning shot range ? No way you would sneak up under her skirts ( forget false flags ). When Rabman points out selective realism, he knows exactly what he is saying. Careful what you wish for.

Wow ! That is amazing ! Thanks, this will come very handy. -
Can't remember being possible to acquire the flag in a free town during the 1 hour clock. Isn't Corn a free town ? 1 hour flag operations i remember and was part of was from orchila to aves and coqui to les cayes or somewhere there. And navigation had to be on spot. ( no modules, copper plating wasn't a thing even iirc )

Yep, everyone is 100% correct. The ones that do not want human councils, the ones that do not want NPC rulers, the ones that do not want to be told who they can or not attack. In truth the Clan system solved the problem to the point of - "wash our hands" - not caring about other clans driving their own diplomacy. Remember, this was our own request to overcome the difficulties of herding cats, so groups could pursue their own objectives without having to council with anyone else if they so chose. -

Which part of modules aside didn't you understand ?... *sigh* Stick to the ships. Modules are heresy. -
While the celebrated "yankee privateers" or "french corsairs" tend to occupy most of the breathing space, especially during the late 1700's and up to 1815, both the english and french canadian bourne privateering ventures shouldn't be overlooked as they proved time and again to be, once all accounts are settled, way more proficient than their yank counterparts and definitely comparable, in grit and courage to the likes of Allemand or Surcouf. Just a small sideline on how costly it was to get a license. Spoils of War: Privateering in Nova Scotia ... https://novascotia.ca/archives/privateers/

Yes, of course. It is all viable solutions, but a "human government" also make the Master Forger very very happy. So yeah, maybe you get a point. I still stand to the present mechanics - Enemy Player means enemy player. Choices to join a side or the other already in place in the "join battle" circles. -

Some clans don't do politics other than diplomatic incidents. Not on purpose mind you, but just because they read "enemy player", and "enemy player" has only one meaning really. You cannot herd wolves into a sheep pen. -

Sorry !?.... I am certain you have not tested the ship thoroughly, Sir. Whatever equipment aside, when a shop teak Cerberus extends from one at a steady pace, I really wonder where from do you take this "facts". But then can't a speed Bellona catch a Herc downwind ?... I bet a L'Hermione can... because i did it several times defending the "sorrow valley" of Jamaica. 1v1 i won't do anything, but who cares about 1v1... is all about piling in and defending the "newcomers", so a good tagger is a dead enemy. - further - Regarding Xebecs, they can't keep up with three of the traders broad reach, if they don't carry more than 70% cargo - indiaman, LGV, and TBrig. Seen it, been there, salute to the merchant captains. I suggest you test the ships by using them yourself and go try to emulate "your worst enemy" - know your enemy, be victorious. In your testing be objective, simulate scenarios with your buddies, don't use "popular myth and legend". -

Then she must be used other ways. Once she becomes the "no one remembers her anymore" dlc ship, she will be perfect for her job as the real counter part was. Privateering. Snappy salute. Keep testing her for defects. -

I mean that her not being a good downwind ship is by no means a reason not to be successful. No worries, easy to get passionate about a nice ship as she is and that everyone wants to see properly modelled into the game. I really enjoyed the latest review, she feels more okay now, but everyone should focus and not start blazing guns everywhere. -

This can be removed as it is not a reason of no success using a close haul rig in game, even solo. No One, discuss the game not the people. Easy go get overboard sometimes during a heated debate about a hot subject, but please rise up to the challenge and be as cordial as anyone else. What you said has nothing to do with the ship. /back to NA
